This is an awesome awesome store. In my old hometown of benicia, you go to Safeway to save money and you go to raley's to impress the people from Waters End and because they did have some cool fine foods and stuff but I wouldn't buy eggs there. Sun valley fine foods is the best of both worlds. There's a lot of secret bargains, but if you live in Pacifica and want fresh fruit or fresh cut meats or freshly barbecued tri-tip or just a homemade cooked chicken to impress the people from the city then this is where you should go. Please don't buy out the Mexican half liter sodas cuz I live on those. No I'm not compensated for any of this, but I secretly suspect they make a fresh pot of coffee for me when I walk in in the morning. They really don't need to do that, but it means a lot. read more

While waiting for my to-go order, I came to Sun Valley Fine Food to kill some time. The sandwich counter was closed at around 7pm. It might be because of holiday hours. LOVE This well-stocked market is a bright spot in the neighborhood. It has a surprisingly good selection of quality produce -- I especially love the Persian cucumbers. There are some organic options, which is nice. They carry Fairlife milk and plain kefir. LIKE There's a small deli case with lots of freshly made goodies like salads, hummus and dolmas. Really nice when you don't know what to have for dinner. The meat counter looks good, although I haven't yet bought anything from it. Plenty of parking. Fast checkout. MEH Their Apple Pay only takes Visa for some reason. Not a big deal, but I'd prefer to use Mastercard. read more

Do not buy gift cards at this store. I was charged twice for a gift card that didn't work. I was suppose to get a credit on my credit card but instead they charged my credit card again instead of receiving a credit. Very upset! Other than this issue the store is friendly. read more

Sun valley is not the best grocery store but they are GREAT if you need something in a pinch when you live close by. Sure they are overpriced and dont really carry any speciality items to justify it, but they keep the store stocked with a little bit of everything. So if you forget that one thing you need for dinner from another store and are close by, definately pop in and chances are they will have it... for a price. Thier breakfast sausage from thier meat counter is also really tasty. I am not crazy about thier deli sandwiches though, you can find a better one somewhere else for the same price. read more

The staff here are friendly and they offer a variety of healthy food options, as well as operating as a standard grocery store. They are located just at the edge of Linda Mar and the adjacent Back of the valley neighborhood. This area is very secluded as far as being away from the main shopping centers of Manor or Linda Mar, and this place as a result remains relatively peaceful and not ever too busy to shop. I have been told they have awesome sandwiches which is something I'm going to have to try next time i'm in the old neighborhood! read more

I absolutely love this market! Perfect convenience store, has a whole deli section where you can buy a hot dinner if you don't feel like cooking, and they have a great array of drinks whether it's soft drinks or alcoholic. My daughter loves the little toys in there which are very well priced for a convenience store. The staff are always friendly and welcoming with a smile on their faces and they always take their time to greet me while I'm shopping. Best customer service, best selection of foods, drinks, and amenities. All in all it's a lovely market to have near me within walking distance. Plus it's next to the library! Love it read more

I am so grateful that this market exists here in the Linda Mar neighborhood of Pacifica! The owners and staff are unfailingly helpful and kind, and it is such a welcome relief from shopping at a big chain store like Safeway! The hot food service area near the entrance has excellent quality and and at a very good price, with different choices on different days. Yes, not having the buying power of a big chain means that for some items they must charge more than a "Safeway", but for me, the goodness of the staff and the accessibility and convenience is well worth it! It is much more satisfying to support a family business than heartless, corporate behemoths. For a store of their size, the cheese, beer, and other alcohol choices, plus their meat department are excellent. read more

First of all, I really like this market. They carry some items no other markets in Pacifica do, such as rosewater and other middle eastern items. The Santa Maria bbq chicken is delicious! The only problem with this store is the incredible rudeness of the owner, Ibrahim! He has been consistently rude to both me and my husband for as long as the store has been open. Today was the final straw for my husband. Ibrahim gave my husband a disgusted look, and then proceeded to have a friendly conversation with someone he knew farther back in the line. He has done this to both of us over the years. We have never been anything but pleasant to him. It's a pity, because all of the rest of the family are very nice, as well as other employees. From now on, will only rarely frequent the market, and walk out if only Ibrahim is on the checkout line. read more

Friendly staff, they have everything you could want item wise but when I have to wait several minutes before they ring me up because nobody's at the register I'm not happy. Or when there's more than three people in line but they only have one checker working and they're taking their sweetass time chatting instead of helping the next customer. This high quality market is packed with just about All you could use at home and for parties, quick good meals, delicious soups, healthier food product choices, and even little things you don't find in other local markets, so it IS One-stop shopping, and open til 9 or 10 every night! Good prices, outstanding produce, lots of new small company items to try, great for desserts and last minute gift flowers, and ready to eat fresh-cooked entrees--they make a lot of stuff there! Everyone is warm and friendly. But the real, old-fashioned Butcher shop and meat section is the BEST. Always salad & meat goodies to sample back there. The quality of meat, and the knowledge, sincerity & friendly customer service of Joel, the butcher, among other staff, is truly in a class by itself---outstanding. And NOTHING like Joel's BBQ! (He really goes out of his way to fix you Whatever you'd really like.) This is a hidden gem in the back of Pacifica! I always forget that this is back here and am always pleasantly surprised every time I go back. They have pre-made meals that look like something that mom made as well as someone that BBQ's in the front of the store sometimes. The deli sandwiches are delicious as well as the other deli items. They also have a nice selection of foods that you most likely will not find at Safeway. Since it is a family owned store they are big on customer service. Last time I was there, my eyes were bigger than my hands and I just had to grab the macaroni salad. As a I was attempting to balance it on my pile of food (because I couldn't bother to get a basket) the macaroni salad fell and exploded all over the place. Instead of getting upset, like some mom and pop stores do, they were very concerned that I had gotten dirty and insisted everything was fine, go get a new one, and do not worry about it. I love this market -- and am grateful it's so close to home. The butcher is fantastic and the meats, fish and poultry always fresh. If you ask, they'll even grind your ground beef fresh just for you. This market has everything you need, fruits, veggies, frozen foods -- even a good selection of beer, wine and liquor. Everyone there is friendly and there is seldom a long line at checkout. I prefer it to Safeway's hustle and bustle -- and the meat in particular is far superior to Safeway's. read more

I am always impressed by the produce. Its not like the big supermarkets, the stuff is ready to use and fresh. Just don't let it sit around. And the prices are equal and better than the chains. The butcher and deli is outstanding. They also have Just Desserts cakes. read more

While I certainly don't see Safeway or going there as anything near hell, I do love this place and how it's close enough for me to walk to. What I don't love is that is feels like a huge 7-11, in that the prices are definately higher than Safeway, but they are not open late, which is bad. They have good fresh food and specials and are great when you only need staples, for you won't find hard to find items here, to be sure. I can't believe people are rating a market for customer service. Since when do we expect 4 star restaurant service at a grocery store?? News flash- IT'S A GROCERY STORE!! Do you expect them to roll out the red carpet upon your arrival and wipe your behind on the way out? They are human, they have bad days too and frankly they probably don't get paid enough to have a smile on there faces for the 8-16 hr shifts they may be working. Hence all the young lady's who work there. They are teenagers, what do you expect? The girls have always been fine with me. Very diligent about carding for alcohol & tobacco. I've even seen one refuse to sell an obviously already drunk man a beer. Which was refreshing! Anyhow, I've been coming here since it's opened. I live right up the street. Yes, it's overpriced but it's here for convenience. Drive the extra 2 minutes to Safeway if you want to save a buck. Staff has always been kind to me, even when the butcher/deli is closed at the end of the night they go out of their way to let me grab some late night cuts. I'm sorry, but I'm just not feeling the love here. I have been here twice (both times in the morning). I like to support the mom and pops, but so far on my visits, it has just been pop, and he's been a little grumpy. They carry my favorite, Boar's Head meats, in their deli section, but I can't get served! The first visit I asked if somebody could help me, and pop said he was sorry that he was on his own that day, but indicated that is not normally the case. The next time, it was the same thing. I'm not sure I want to go back another time (especially now that i know Columbo's carries Boars Head). If pop had leveled with me, and simply told me when the deli person arrives, I would be more inclined to come back. I definitely would not plan to do my everyday grocery shopping here, but I might stop by to pick up a loaf of Raymond's sourdough. read more

I'm a big supporter of small businesses and think they're great for the community, but this place I refuse to support after multiple bad experiences. Time and time again, the older gentleman that owns the store is continuously rude. One occasion he makes a scene when I choose to use my debit card for a smaller purchase saying he loses money. I don't normally carry cash and second there is no sign like other stores stating "there is a debit card limit when purchasing" (which I would understand if that was the case). The next time I come in, he makes a rude remark because I get cash back instead of using his ATM machine. Once again it's a rude, unnecessary comment from a business owner, especially when they give the option for cash back at the checkout. I refuse to support this business anymore. I'll drive a few minutes longer for cheaper prices and better service at the local corporate grocery store. read more

I prefer smaller stores and shops thus shop here often (weekly) - it's not that small but not a "safeway" - I really like the deli and meat department. My all time favorite is the daily soup made fresh by Sula! A meal in it's self. The Sunday BBQ meat or fish gives me a break from cooking. There are good desserts too. The staff is super friendly an A+ in my books. Nearly all my produce or product needs are bought at Sun Valley. I'm a "forever" customer. read more

They're good people that opened a much needed market in the specific area that they're located.You get the feeling of an exquisite mini-market when you walk into the place, they do a good job in keeping up with the basic needs along with the oddball things as well.Store has a produce area,a small floral area,a butcher shop in the back of the store with a deli next to it in one.Butcher is a friendly guy whom will go the extra steps to get what you need.The store has a good beverage & spirits selection. Hardly ever two people ahead of you in the lines even though you'll always see at least a dozen people or more in the store.They don't have as many specials as Safeway therefore one could be deceived into thinking Safeway is much cheaper then Sun Valley.They 're fairly competitive when it comes to prices,don't hesitate to check this store out. read more
