One of the best banh mi's I've had in the bay! Whenever I go up to the city, I try to always make a stop here to get the cold cut banh mi. Dac biet banh mi- 10/10. Stopped by Dinosaurs after taking a quick hike at Mori Point and along the beach; we got there around 2pm and it was quite busy still. There's maybe 4 tables of outdoor seating, but I wouldn't bet on there being one open during lunch time - we were able to snag a table as another group left while waiting for our orders. We got one special and one shaking beef banh mi to split between the 4 of us, since they're quite big and we weren't too hungry. The bread is nice and fluffy with a crisp but not hurt your mouth hardness crust, and there was a good amount of veggies and meat in each. I do wish there was a pate and more mayo in them, but it was still satisfying. We saw quite a few people getting avocado and watermelon lychee smoothies, so order one of each after we finished our sandwiches - the smoothies seem to take quite a while to make so be prepared to wait for them, they probably took 2-3x as long as the banh mi to be ready. The watermelon litchee was refreshing and served as a good dessert for my sweet tooth, and the avocado was smooth, creamy and not too sweet at all - not sure if they blend this was oat or soymilk but it tasted vaguely like oat or soy. Dinosaurs has been on my list to try for such a long time. Decided to finally try the Pacifica location one day for lunch. Ordered the chicken and shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce and a grilled chicken banh mi. When you first walk in, you have the register/ordering area straight in front of you and visibly you can see the workers making your food straight to the back. To the right, you'll find the menu and some snacks (Asian snacks included). To the left, you'll find a fridge with drinks. Not too big of an area but it's probably designed for you to order and go. There are tables/seats right outside of the shop so that's convenient. The spring rolls were good but I didn't realize they put green apples in it. Not traditional in my opinion. Not horrible but really random. I preferred it without the apples so I took it out. The chicken was flavorful and I enjoyed it very much. The peanut sauce was also really good. Very peanut buttery. I always love a good peanut sauce with my spring rolls. Not many places make it this way (usually you'd see it mostly hoisin sauce) The grilled chicken banh mi had great flavor. Well balanced with the veggies and mayo. The bread however, was not a traditional banh mi. It was more like a torta. Although the flavors were good, I wouldn't order again because of the bread. Place overall is good but not traditional. Price is a little steep but it's expected for the area. If you're looking for a place to try that's not traditional, give Dinosaurs a try. Yummy banh mi spot in Pacifica!! My partner took me here for the first time because he and his coworkers love it. I got the Spicy Tuna Banh Mi and it definitely lived up to the hype. I have a weak/mild spice tolerance so I definitely felt the heat, but it was delicious! My partner got the Grilled Pork Banh Mi, which he always raves about. Right next to a boba spot, and a thrift store :) the perfect outting. Also super close to the beach if you want to grab some food and look at the view (when it's not so foggy) Their pork and shrimp roll with the PEANUT SAUCEEE is everything. I look forward to trying a different sandwich next visit. The Spring Rolls.... Not sure I am a fan of the green apple within the roll. The rice paper wrapper on all three spring rolls were dry and cracked and it broke apart. It was hard to eat. Ambiance inside is like a warehouse and boxes everywhere. Good spot for bahn mi takeout as they are located not too far from the beach. We got the grilled pork and special bahn mi and took them on our hike at Mori Point. Sandwiches were a good size and delicious but pricey. I understand there are some costs from county requirements and they post a note about that on the front window. The vinaigrette with the meat melted in your mouth and made for such a great balance of flavors. This is my usual go-to spot for Banh Mi sandwiches in the northern Peninsula. Granted, you can get banh mi sandwiches at many local vietnamese restaurants, but I think the best sandwiches are found at places like these, where they just focus on one area. Parking is ample and easy to get to. When the weather is nice and sunny, get a sandwich and eat it on the tables outside the shop. Inside the shop there are no tables so it's mainly a grab and go type of place. Service is fast and friendly. My favorite sandwich is the "The Special" which is your standard vietnamese combo cold cut sandwich with pate. I've also tried the shaking beef before, but didn't love it because I ate it an hour later after getting it and the sandwich was all soggy b/c of the sauce. I love a good Vietnamese sandwich. I LOVE a good Vietnamese sandwich even more when their tofu sandwich is vegan as is. Not only is it vegan as is, it comes with veganaise! They have vegan fish sauce too! The bread is really good! I didn't care for the the shreds of tofu. Maybe it's because I am used to slices or chunks of tofu. The flavor was good don't get me wrong and I would absolutely order it again. We also ordered the Tofu and Taro spring roll. I love me a good spring roll as well. The only thing I didn't like was there was sliced apples?? inside?? Would order again just without the apples. I like apples, just not in my spring rolls. It's not often that you can get a dairy free Vietnamese coffee or a Thai tea and they do both with condensed Coconut Milk. So if you're vegan or dairy free, you've got some options. We love to be thought of over here! The inside is small but there are a few tables outside. There wasn't a huge sign above their store but its at the end by the small convenience store is.
