My bbq pork bahn mi was delicious. The bread was the perfect texture and the ratio of meat, veggies and mayonnaise were very well balanced. The meat was a very generous portion. I am a big bahn mi fan and this is one of the best I have had. I usually get mine in San Francisco and am pretty picky. Kitten and Pinky in Pacifica is a really nice, welcoming family owned spot with great food for the price. Don't listen to the haters, I've never had a bad experience here. The man at the register is super kind and has amazing service, always helping out by cleaning tables and bringing anything you need. The whole place just feels very warm and local. Food wise, the pho is honestly mediocre (Oasis is definitely better), but the banh mi is great for the price and the meat over vermicelli dishes are outstanding. A great place to drop by for quick sandwiches to picnic! Ordering was fast and simple-I called in our order including special instructions/preferences and told it will take 15 minutes. Excellent vegan-friendly spot a block from the beach in Pacifica. Atleast 3/16 items on the menu are vegetarian/vegan. Yay! I got the vegan tofu fresh rolls and they were bomb. It was a large portion with four in an order; enough for lunch and a snack. It came with peanut sauce, a soy based sauce, and sambal. See photo attached. This little family-owned spot in Pacifica is a great lunch and dinner restaurant serving up classic Vietnamese-inspired sandwiches. We grabbed dinner to-go and ate it back at our rental house. We ordered the BBQ Pork sando, the tofu sando, the veggie spring rolls, and the chicken over rice. After ordering, the food took about 15 minutes and came to around $50. Tipping is optional. While I thought everything was tasty, nothing was amazing. The flavors were there, but not all of the vegetables were fresh, and some tasted like they had been pre-prepared hours earlier. The spring rolls were wrapped in plastic wrap, which tells me they were certainly made long before ordering. The pork seemed a bit tough and dried out, same for the chicken. Not bad, but could be better. I would go here again, knowing what to expect, but from what I hear, there are several other Vietnamese places in the area that could be worth trying. I still love supporting a great local business and would recommend this as a great stop on the main drag of Pacifica. read more

My husband found this restaurant because we wanted to find food before we went to the beach in Pacifica. The place was packed. We got there just a little after the start of lunchtime. Most people seem to be enjoying their vermicelli bowls. They looked really good and fresh and smell delicious. I felt like their prices were really reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. I got the mayonnaise bread which has shrimps, mayonnaise, cheese, and green onions. The bread almost tasted like Texas toast. It was really good. It was cheesy. It had a generous amount of shrimp. It almost tasted like shrimp salad as well. I had never had something like that before so it was nice to try something new. We also got the shrimp rolls with a side of peanut sauce and that was delicious. We asked them to leave the pork out. They individually wrapped each roll, which was so nice because usually the rolls get stuck together and torn, but that didn't happen this time. their peanut sauce was excellent. I think next time we would order a different peanut sauce. We ended up eating on the beach, but the inside of the restaurant was super cute and quaint and clean. It was so busy that there weren't any tables available, but we would love to dine in another time. I highly recommend this place. It's walking distance to the beach and has super fresh. Super tasty super authentic food. They even have a parking lot. read more

One of the best spots for bánh mì in town! I had the pork bánh mì and it was amazing -- the meat was super tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The bread was fresh and had the perfect crunch, and all the pickled veggies added just the right amount of tang and texture. I also tried the charbroiled pork over vermicelli, and it was just as impressive. The pork had that slightly smoky, grilled flavor and was served over fresh, soft noodles with plenty of herbs, pickled carrots, and fish sauce on the side. Super satisfying and full of flavor. The eggrolls were another standout -- perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with a tasty mix of meat and vegetables. You can tell they're made in-house and not from frozen. I ordered the Spring Rolls, but it was very hard to communicate with the staff, so I had to use a translating app to find out if what I ordered was gluten free. Even with using the app, they didn't understand what I was asking for, but finally I was able to get them to show me the packaging and determine that it was safe for me to eat. The spring rolls were pretty basic, but good. Not many GF options here, but my friends who could consume gluten love this place. read more

A very small and cozy establishment that serves incredible bahn mi's. Their portions are incredible for the price. Me and a friend shared a tofu bahn mi and we felt more than satisfied with our experience. Their ice Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk was also a very sweet treat but strong with caffeine. I actually didn't think the Bahn mi sandwich was all that. I really didn't like the chewy and fluffy bread. I wanted a more crunchy baguette. The ingredients on my sandwich were skimpy. The vermicelli noodles with the eggrolls and bbq pork was just meh. I think the portions are small for this plate, and the favors were like that of a food court. Operated by two older ladies, you're warmly welcomed while you check out the poster board menu. Select your drinks from a fridge on the side. There's counter seating along the window. Ordered for takeout: #1 COMBO SANDWICH w/pate, pork, pepper, pickled veggies, cilantro & mayonnaise. Forgot to ask about jalapeños so none was included. Otherwise this was a decent banh mi that satisfies the appetite! Next time I'll make sure jalapeños are included! #13 FRESH SPRING ROLLS w/cucumber, lettuce, mint, shrimp, pork, & vermicelli. Plain and simple, loved it b/c it had both shrimp AND pork! It's becoming more common where an order will have only shrimp or only pork in the spring roll. It was a fresh sandwich, but I just didn't care for the flavor of the meat. There are so many good bang mi spots in the area that I don't think I'll be back to this one. This is definitely a mom's and pops shop. It's a small spot, menu is hand written nothing fancy here. It's a block away from the pier and it's perfect sandwich to take on a picnic at the beach. I ordered the chicken sandwich and the chicken was juicy, veggies were fresh and the bread nicely toasted. My hunny ordered the tofu, he said it was good but wished the tofu was crunchier. Next time I'll the Pho especially on those cold and foggy days, which often time Pacifica is (-I'll come back and post about it). I have a special feeling of love about locally owned businesses and Kitty and Pinky did not disappoint, it's a Vietnamese counter service restaurant, casual and best for lunch. During my visit there were two older women working (presumably Kitten and Pinky?). I ordered the tofu bahn mi, and I was greatly surprised/impressed that the tofu was made to order and served warm. It was an excellent sandwich. It could be improved with optional jalapeño pepper (or a pepper spicer than what they use). They also offer rice and noodle plates.
