Toasts set up including pre set salads at our request
    Jessica M.

Toasts team is amazing! I am a wedding coordinator and worked with them at an event yesterday and I was so impressed. I've worked with several full service caterers and some really stand out more than others and toasts team is one of those. I wish I could remember all the ways they nailed it and went above and beyond but I know the main reason was because of the service manager Martin. That man is a gem! I overheard several comments he made that to his team that focused on attention to detail, quality and guest experience. He was not only super professional and kind but he was also just so great to work with. Great personality and work ethic. All the staff from kitchen, to servers,to bartenders just really did so well. I also absolutely appreciated them all taking care of the couple, the guests, AND of our vendor team.  I hope to refer them to other couples.

I booked Toast Catering for our intimate backyard wedding dinner. I reached out to Alicia 2 weeks before our date and she made it so easy! Due to the pandemic, we had to pivot our " reception" plans. Alicia was extremely professional and easy to communicate with. I really needed some guidance and she was there every step. We were able to lock down the menu and all of the rental details with toast. I can wholeheartedly say, our wedding day wouldn't have been the same without the toast catering staff. Walter, Mam, Carlos And Micy were exceptional! They handled all of the setup and completely transformed our backyard space. I forgot to leave instructions with the florals, candles, vases etc and they executed my vision without even knowing it! They even setup the fire pit! My family and I were ecstatic and couldn't have envisioned a better night. The FOOD was so delicious! Everything was pretty much a highlight...ahi tuna, scallops, lamb, filet mignon, corvina! I can't recommend this team enough!

Boxed Catering for my covid bridal shower
    Jillian R.

Alicia was amazing to work with and helped us curate our individually-boxed catering menu for both my bridal shower and our wedding. She was reliable, available, and flexible. She was prepared with ideas and answers to our questions to help us choose the best options for our occasions. Alicia went above and beyond in recommending a custom-print tote bag vendor and providing us the dimensions of the boxed food so we could wow our guests. She even put together activities and goodies for our guests with children. The presentation and quality of food was excellent - everything was delicious and held up well in the containers. Friends, Family, and especially the Bride & Groom greatly enjoyed all of the food. Highly recommend Toast!!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Toast Catering & Events gave us the attention and care we needed from the first tasting to the day of the wedding. We cannot thank them enough for all the work they did behind the scenes to make our special day run smoothly. Our tasting with Ashley is really what confirmed our decision to go with Toast as our catering vendor. She was informative, patient, and very accommodating with our concerns. The tasting was very delightful, they give you good portions of the items you pre-select (via email communication) and they we're so sweet to package up the leftovers for us to enjoy the next day. Truth be told, when we had the leftovers the next day and the food STILL tasted great -- that's when we knew we had to seal the deal with Toast. Not to mention, when we were finalizing the sides, My-Dung was able to hold a second tasting for us, just for the new sides to try, which was so accommodating for us! Fast forward few months prior to the wedding, Jim and My-Dung were very responsive to our emails and kept us in the loop. Jim had done many weddings at our venue (Trocadero Clubhouse, Stern Grove) and My-Dung had taken the time to meet up with us at the venue to go over placement of tables/chairs, ceremony and reception items, and the time-table for the day. My-Dung was an absolute sweetheart, and her positive, bubbly attitude really helped to calm our nerves for what can be a stressful time of to-do lists! She also met up with us to pick out all the rentals at Classic Party Rentals, which was very helpful for us first-timers! She does a great job of thinking of things you otherwise may not think of, because she has a lot of experience in the wedding business! Though we were bummed My-Dung wasn't the person who would help facilitate our day, we still were under AMAZING care of Jim and his team. The food was absolutely delicious, just as we had experienced it during the tasting. We will get compliments on the food and how good it was, how much there was to go around. In terms of menu, we opted for the following, for a total of approx 90 guests: Hors D'oeuvres: - Crab cakes + lemon aioli - Stuffed mushrooms with Italian sausage + marscarpone - Truffled fontina risotto arancini + marinara dipping sauce - Grilled peach + buffalo crostini Salad: - Little gem salad with pears, toasted walnuts, shaved parmesan - Sourdough bread & butter Mains: - Double cut New York steak with Brandy Peppercorn Sauce - Stuffed Chicken Breast with spinach, mushrooms, shallots, asiago - Portobello mushroom napoleon (vegetarian option) Sides: - Roasted cauliflower with quinoa and pepitas in lemon cream sauce - Butternut squash ravioli in brown butter sauce and fried sage - Grilled vegetables tossed with olive oil and sea salt The day-of, Jim and his team came on-time and truly delivered a wonderful event for us. The ceremony and reception were set-up, everyone had plenty of food and drinks. They had bride and groom dinner plates ready for us for when we came in to the reception! And a separate server who came to check-in on our throughout the reception to see if we needed drinks or extra food. The tricky business with a wedding at the Trocadero clubhouse, is that we had to remove half the room of dinner tables during the cake-cutting (outside on the porch) to make room for a dancing area. I could not believe how efficient and smooth that whole process went. We literally all went out to cut the cake and say our thank-you speech and when we returned half the room was cleaned up and ready to party! No hiccups that I sensed at all throughout the day! If you're still reading, dear Yelper, have no fear. Call Toast today and book your event. They will go beyond 100% to make your event what you hoped it would be! So much thanks, Jim, Ashley, My-Dung, and the awesome team you have!

Sheldon was fabulous to work with, coming up with a great menu out of the box. Some of our guests have celiac, and others are lactose-intolerant; all food was perfectly labeled so these people felt safe eating it. Many guests approached me to rave about the food afterwards, and this is a foodie crowd. Even the recommended beer and wines were just right. They set up the area perfectly, and the staff, overseen by the attentive and sensitive Roma, and were able to accommodate a few last-minute requests (e.g., an electrical outlet and extension cord; rearranging chairs to be out of the sun; extensive speeches that could have eaten into food time). We had a number of updates to our requests as close-in as days before the event, and all were accommodated with a smile. I add that I set this whole thing up from FL and CT, never setting foot on the property before the event. And all went off without a hitch. I recommend Melon's wholeheartedly!

We wanted food at our wedding that reflected our cultures (and our favorite foods). We received catering contracts from several caterers, but Melon's was the only one where we really felt like they had worked with our ideas. Chef Stephen told me at the first call outright that he couldn't do "the most authentic", but he could make delicious food. He was right -- and all my guests (most of whom dislike fusion) were super pleased. People literally raved to me first about the food of all the things about my wedding, especially the red-cooked duck leg and the baklava. 2022 was a crazy year for weddings, and Melons was super busy and a bit slow in responding through the first half of that until the summer. So just be aware of that when you work with this vendor. We booked them without a tasting and pleased at our tasting to discover that we had chosen well. (And were again very pleased at our wedding when the food was exactly as it was at the tasting, except they had taken into account our feedback as well so it was even better!) Finally, the servers were all kind and so courteous and happy for us on the day of. The only sad thing is that I can't eat my wedding food again, to be honest.

While I was unfamiliar with ordering food for a large number of people, Priscilla helped recommend the amount of food for the requirements, "I don't want to run out of food during the event" and "we love desserts". Another side note: I was catering snacks rather than a meal. I ended up ordering - tri-tip - mashed potatoes - roasted veggies - assorted bread - lemon garlic salmon - veggie garlic pasta - Greek salad - dinner rolls - fresh fruit display - fresh fruit tarts - petit fours - gluten free mini cupcakes: red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, lemon I appreciate that Priscilla suggested to halve the salmon fillets to have double the number of salmon pieces for guests to have snack portions rather than meal portions. Although mini cupcakes were not listed on her menu, she was able to provide them. Also, you can ask her about gluten free desserts. You can have more than just macarons. Compliments I received... "Did you make the food? The salmon and tri-tip were so juicy." "This is better than most wedding food." 2 people inquired who I used to cater for the event. I received general praise that the food was good. I received explicit praise that the petit fours and fruit tarts were good. The mashed potatoes were thick but good. Passion for catering's setup and tear down went smoothly. It was maybe 20-30 minutes of setup and 10 minutes of tear down. I appreciate that they were able to provide decor for the food tables. While the food eventually arrived, the experience leading up to and during the event was fraught with unnecessary stress. Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.
