Tofu banh mi
Tanner C.

The banh MI was very tasty, but the price was really high and portion not huge. The other place in town is serving sandwiches for almost half the price, this place is tasty, but wish the portion and amount of protein was larger.

Menu as of October 2025

Dinosaurs has been on my list to try for such a long time. Decided to finally try the Pacifica location one day for lunch. Ordered the chicken and shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce and a grilled chicken banh mi. When you first walk in, you have the register/ordering area straight in front of you and visibly you can see the workers making your food straight to the back. To the right, you'll find the menu and some snacks (Asian snacks included). To the left, you'll find a fridge with drinks. Not too big of an area but it's probably designed for you to order and go. There are tables/seats right outside of the shop so that's convenient. The spring rolls were good but I didn't realize they put green apples in it. Not traditional in my opinion. Not horrible but really random. I preferred it without the apples so I took it out. The chicken was flavorful and I enjoyed it very much. The peanut sauce was also really good. Very peanut buttery. I always love a good peanut sauce with my spring rolls. Not many places make it this way (usually you'd see it mostly hoisin sauce) The grilled chicken banh mi had great flavor. Well balanced with the veggies and mayo. The bread however, was not a traditional banh mi. It was more like a torta. Although the flavors were good, I wouldn't order again because of the bread. Place overall is good but not traditional. Price is a little steep but it's expected for the area. If you're looking for a place to try that's not traditional, give Dinosaurs a try. I'd come back for the spring rolls...without apples :)

Yummy banh mi spot in Pacifica!! My partner took me here for the first time because he and his coworkers love it. I got the Spicy Tuna Banh Mi and it definitely lived up to the hype. I have a weak/mild spice tolerance so I definitely felt the heat, but it was delicious! My partner got the Grilled Pork Banh Mi, which he always raves about. Decent price and generous portions; I was able to eat my sandwich in 2 servings. They also have fast service (only waited around 5 minutes). Bonus points for easy parking and their location next to The Magic Toybox store which is super fun store to browse while you wait!

Love the food here. Can't go wrong with any of their banh mi sandwiches! They're all good!!! Got the bbq pork today and shrimp and chicken spring rolls. The bread is soft with a perfect crunch on the outside. Spring rolls was a perfect size and you get 3 with your choice of sauce. It's located in a shopping center so lots of parking. Got our food at a reasonable amount of time... about 10 mins. Store is clean and staff is super friendly. There is outdoor seating in case you want to bring your pup:).

Special!

Got to try the meatball, dac biet (special) and shaking beef sandwiches today with all the toppings. Personally I wish the sandwiches were a bit bigger because they were so good. My sandwich had a healthy amount of pickled vegetables, fresh cucumber, cilantro and jalapeño. I also liked the flavoring of the meatball. I thought it was going to lack in flavor without being cooked in the typical tomato based sauced but that proved to not be the case! 9.1/10 banh mi I'll definitely be back for. As for the special sandwich otherwise known as the banh mi dac biet, wow. 9.8/10! Good amount of butter, pate and the thickness of each cut of meat was solid. Sadly this is the only sandwich I took a picture of. We also ordered the avocado shake and Viet iced coffee, both great as well.

I would definitely recommend for there food and sevice. I had the meatball sandwich and my wife had the grilled pork. We also ordered chicken and shrimp spring rolls. All the food was tasty. Service was excellent. I loved the old pay phone to take phone orders.

Still one of my fav banh mi places in the area, note some increased prices though due to tarriffs

Thee BEST Vietnamese sandwiches in the bay, in my opinion! Tocino, Kare Kare and Special- extra crispy and pate!

Shaken Beef Banh Mi

:( Swung by to grab a Banh Mi to watch the sunset with and I have been truly disappointed. Shaken Beef Banh Mi Cons: - $15 after tax - Filling portion is diabolical - bread wasn't fresh, the top was too hard and pokey. Middle was not soft enough - pickled veggies weren't as pickley as I'd except - too much mayo!!! Not enough everything else Pros: - lots of parking - pretty quick So so disappointed. I should've seen the red flags, no one spoke Vietnamese and the place is literally called Dinosaurs?.. Staff were speaking in Cantonese.. I guess it's okay but I wouldn't come back.

Avocado Smoothie

Solid banh mi spot serving up quick and tasty Vietnamese sandwiches! The bread is super duper fresh and tasted like it's cooked in house, which was my fav part. Loved the Asian snack choices they had too, honey butter chips for the win! Lots of tables outside. Grilled Chicken - Flavorful chunks for dark chicken meat with hints lemongrass. Just enough creamy sauce to go with the crisp veggies. Shaking Beef - Juicy beef slices with a savory and vinegary taste. Good amount of meat to veggie ratio. Shrimp & Pork Spring Roll - This could be a meal in itself! Very thick and generous with the protein. Shrimp was plump and no fishy aroma. Avocado Smoothie - Smooth and not too thick. Very subtle avocado taste, moreso tasting like vanilla for those who are wary of getting an avocado drink. Also, not overly sweet. Super refreshing on a hot day!

Wow, Alicia and Toast, absolutely amazing! Cannot recommend this company highly enough. I reached…read moreout to 5 caterers for quotes for my event. Toast came back mid range on pricing but by far the best in terms of what they included and also what wasn't included. What they were able to include was coordination and delivery of rentals (plates, flatware, chairs, tables, etc.) and what they didn't include is a ton of unnecessary and frankly extremely expensive fees that other companies did. Another "right off the bat" win was how communicative and professional Alicia was. When we started going back-and-forth on email, she called me to clarify my needs and understand my vision. That allowed her to give me a much more customized quote that included all the foods that I liked instead of a cookie cutter version of a menu that was suited to somebody else's tastes. Most other companies were giving me menus with shellfish and prime rib, neither of which I wanted on my menu. After settling on the menu, the rest of the process with Toast was so easy. They took care of all the coordination with my venue directly, organizing all the load in and load out details. Day of, I showed up to staff who was prepared, competent, and went above and beyond to make sure my guests were taken care of. I wish I knew the name of one of the servers who was hands-down the best server I've ever worked with. He somehow knew my brother was the vegan, and brought him his plate right when everyone else was going through the buffet. He also had noticed a guest was not drinking and brought them a cup of the alcohol free drink to their place. One guest asked for a wine that was not on the table and he made an effort to go to the bar and get that for them. Just fantastic! Quality of food was also impressive. I did pass appetizers and a buffet dinner. The past appetizers were all excellent, especially the mango spring rolls with peanut sauce. Yum! I was worried the buffet food would be mediocre, but everything tasted fresh, well cooked (not over or under, which is hard with salmon a chicken!) and perfect temp. I had many of my guests mark on how delicious the food was. Thank you, Alicia and Toast staff, for making my birthday run flawlessly and allowing me to truly enjoy the event with no stress!

My goal is to keep this short, but not sure I can make that happen. Alicia was beyond amazing! If I…read morecould give her 10 stars, I would. From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and patient with all of my questions (and I had a lot!). Then, the tasting came around. I kid you not that from the first bite of salad, my mind was made up. Then the apps started rolling in, then the miso salmon. Seriously, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Alicia created a fun atmosphere during the tasting. She shared tips and suggestions that never even crossed my mind. Luckily, I had a pen with me because I was taking notes between bites. The food itself was outstanding, seasoned well, presented beautifully, flavorful, and memorable. She made sure that as the bride and groom we ate by leaving apps in the bridal suite. Then her team kept checking on us throughout the night to make sure we had food. Again, the food was beyond amazing...salmon, chicken, pesto pasta..the list goes on and on. But what really set Alicia and her team at Toast apart was the level of care and attention she brought to the entire experience. She went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and it truly felt like she was just as invested in our day as we were. On the wedding day, her team was professional, warm, and seamless. Everything flowed perfectly, and we never had to worry about a thing. Alicia even gave me tips on how to hold my flowers so my dress could be seen. We are so, so glad we chose her--she played such a huge role in making our day feel special. If you go with Toast (which I highly recommend) please invite me to your wedding, corporate event, party etc...I'm a great guest and I promise not to go up for seconds. :)

Sheldon was fabulous to work with, coming up with a great menu out of the box. Some of our guests have celiac, and others are lactose-intolerant; all food was perfectly labeled so these people felt safe eating it. Many guests approached me to rave about the food afterwards, and this is a foodie crowd. Even the recommended beer and wines were just right. They set up the area perfectly, and the staff, overseen by the attentive and sensitive Roma, and were able to accommodate a few last-minute requests (e.g., an electrical outlet and extension cord; rearranging chairs to be out of the sun; extensive speeches that could have eaten into food time). We had a number of updates to our requests as close-in as days before the event, and all were accommodated with a smile. I add that I set this whole thing up from FL and CT, never setting foot on the property before the event. And all went off without a hitch. I recommend Melon's wholeheartedly!

We wanted food at our wedding that reflected our cultures (and our favorite foods). We received catering contracts from several caterers, but Melon's was the only one where we really felt like they had worked with our ideas. Chef Stephen told me at the first call outright that he couldn't do "the most authentic", but he could make delicious food. He was right -- and all my guests (most of whom dislike fusion) were super pleased. People literally raved to me first about the food of all the things about my wedding, especially the red-cooked duck leg and the baklava. 2022 was a crazy year for weddings, and Melons was super busy and a bit slow in responding through the first half of that until the summer. So just be aware of that when you work with this vendor. We booked them without a tasting and pleased at our tasting to discover that we had chosen well. (And were again very pleased at our wedding when the food was exactly as it was at the tasting, except they had taken into account our feedback as well so it was even better!) Finally, the servers were all kind and so courteous and happy for us on the day of. The only sad thing is that I can't eat my wedding food again, to be honest.

While I was unfamiliar with ordering food for a large number of people, Priscilla helped recommend the amount of food for the requirements, "I don't want to run out of food during the event" and "we love desserts". I ended up ordering - tri-tip - mashed potatoes - roasted veggies - assorted bread - lemon garlic salmon - veggie garlic pasta - Greek salad - dinner rolls - fresh fruit display - fresh fruit tarts - petit fours - gluten free mini cupcakes: red velvet, chocolate, vanilla, lemon I appreciate that Priscilla suggested to halve the salmon fillets to have double the number of salmon pieces for guests to have snack portions rather than meal portions. Although mini cupcakes were not listed on her menu, she was able to provide them. Also, you can ask her about gluten free desserts. You can have more than just macarons. Compliments I received... "Did you make the food? The salmon and tri-tip were so juicy." "This is better than most wedding food." 2 people inquired who I used to cater for the event. While the food eventually arrived, the experience leading up to and during the event was fraught with unnecessary stress. Initial communication was great, but it trailed off as we got closer to the date. Despite their "quick response" phone number, my calls and texts went completely ignored. To make matters worse, the voicemail changed from a personal greeting to a generic one 72 hours before my event, leaving me terrified that we had been scammed. We increased our headcount from 65 to 75 a week prior. After being told this was fine, I was sent an incorrect invoice that ignored the new guest count and asked for a second $300 deposit I had already paid. It took multiple follow-up emails just to get a confirmation on the final numbers. On the day of, the staff arrived promptly and set up on time. However, only 30 minutes into service--with only 30 of our 75 guests fed--they completely ran out of cilantro, onions, and grilled peppers. When I followed up the next day, they claimed they prepared for "70 guests." Even if that were true, it wasn't the 75 we paid for, and it certainly doesn't explain running out of basic toppings after 30 people. I'm incredibly glad we didn't use them for our wedding last year as originally planned. It's disappointing when the service doesn't match the reputation. 2 stars for due prompt service and the guests that got all the food really enjoyed the steak & shrimp.
