For some reason, I had breakfast one morning at "The World's Most Beautiful Taco Bell" around the corner from here. After that, I did a quick run to Safeway to pick up some stuff. While there, I got the feeling I was still hungry even though I'd just eaten. Looking around, I saw Sunrise Cafe & Grill and decided I'd try it out. Classic diner when you walk in. I sat at the counter and noted that this is definitely a locals place. Perfect as they all seemed to be having a great time and were enjoying their breakfasts. The staff was very quick, though the chef seemed to be slammed with several orders so my food took a bit of time to get out. No real problem as I had time to kill. I decided on a Grilled Cheese Sandwich with hash browns to fill me up. Didn't disappoint at all! I was perfectly satisfied afterward. Next time I find myself in Pacifica during breakfast, I'm gonna head straight here and indulge in a larger entree! read more

A family run restaurant that makes just run-of-the-mill quality food. Which does not seem to deter locals from patronizing. My visit was at noon and the tables were nearly full and the take out orders were plentiful. My generous size hamburger was merely okay. Actually the 6 ounce meat patty was flavorless. I told Barbara that it was merely meat-like texture, actually a little rubbery chewy for ground beef. I added Cholula hot sauce to make it tasty enough to finish, even though I was hungry. Side of Cole slaw also was just okay, nothing special. Bambie noted for the quality, the prices seemed a bit elevated. The rent in this shopping center must be high. Nice server was helpful, cheerful and attentive. Dining room looks 1960's vintage. Bathroom is old but clean. Next time I'm driving while hungry through Pacifica, I'll seek out another eatery. read more

I love how local and convenient this place. I sometimes forget it is in town. Came in here for a quick breakfast and left full after a hearty breakfast with a decent amount of breakfast choices. Everything was cooked to perfection, the portions hearty and wait staff friendly. The ambiance is your typical diner, clean and all the condiments on the table. There was only one chef so it took a hot minute for us to get food, but everything was served hot and delicious. We will be back more often! read more

Came here for breakfast on accident. Originally wanted to go to another spot where they had fresh brewed coffee but wait was too long. When we got here, thankfully got seated right away. The menu options are like any other mom and pop shop very simple, no boujee coffee and also no kids menu. Place is small and can get loud (we did have my twin nephews so we contributed to the loudness that day). Our server Maria was friendly. She was a little busy and we could tell. Came just after 10am and was seated immediately. Host and waitresses are very friendly and attentive to your needs. Water and coffee is always filled. Every visit to Pacifica, CA, we have breakfast at Sunrise Cafe. They have the BEST omelets! There is an option to "create your own" omelette, which is the route we take. I have egg whites, Spinach, broccoli, feta, and zucchini with avocado on top. Ohhhh man!!! It doesn't get any better than this! I must confess, there was another breakfast cafe next to our hotel which we tried when I was told, "I can make that kind of omelette for you" from the owner. I truly felt like I was cheating on Sunrise Cafe! Well, let's just say, we will continue to have breakfast at Sunrise because the other place didn't make my omelette like Sunrise can! We weren't from the area, but went to Pacifica to enjoy the beautiful water views in the area. We googled a few places for breakfast in the area, but the pictures of the huge breakfast portions for this place won us over. The owners were extremely nice, and welcoming. It is a small cafe in a plaza, but once you walk thru their doors you are greeted by smiles. The husband was very catering to us, and even took time to conversate and gave me a free cup of coffee since mines got cold from talking so long. I ordered the french toast special with scrambled eggs, and bacon. I'm picky about my french toast, because some places make it too eggy. But he made them perfectly, with the right amount of cinnamon, and the portions were outstanding. When in the are you guys definitely have to stop in and try their food, or stop and say hello. read more

Seated ourselves basically then waited for about 30 min for our food. Our drinks came one at a time smh which didn't make sense at all. Another table was served before us when my family and I got there first. The food Is mediocre nothing really to get excited about, and they only have two waitresses serving tables. Came back sooner that normal because I heard Kerri was working this morning Arrived to find the place relatively empty. Just me and two others. I rumor I heard was correct. Kerri was back. She made the who service side of the experience a complete 180 from my previous visit. What exactly was different? Kerri greeted me as I walked in the door. Since I knew what I wanted she had both hot tea and cool water in front of me in less than a minute. Kerri did so with knowledge of what kinds of tea were on hand. No guessing and no need to check. Kerri was verbal with the cooks to keep everything moving along, and doing so accurately. Kerri made sure both hot tea and cold water was refilled throughout my visit. What Kerri would do well in performing is passing along he skills to the other people who are serving. I want the Kerri experience from the others who work here. Better if possible. Same order as last time except for the juice since there is not any fresh juice here. What I was ordered was two eggs over easy, bacon, sausage, hash browns, white rye toast, earl grey tea, and a glass of water. Service was quick. This time the service was accurate and on time. None of the items needed to sit around waiting on the other items. Everything was served at the same time. On the whole everything was okay. The was a difference between the sausage served this time and the last visit. This time the links were about half the weight of the previous visit. I am mentioning this because it was that noticeable. Normally I ignore small differences. However, the plate was the same price. Otherwise a good experience. and you may want to give them a try if you do not care about fresh juice. read more

Used to come here because of convenience of being a local. Last two times have been terrible when it comes to service. Waited 30 minutes after asking for the check and box. With no luck of flagging someone's attention, my friend got up to get one. Waited another 5 minutes. I'd understand if they were busy but we were watching both waitresses just walking around aimlessly. Most recent visit, I waited a bit for a table to become available. When one did, my guest and I walked towards it. We were told to take the booth two seat booth next to the bathroom in order to give the table to a group of three who had just walked in. After stating I rather not sit by the toilet after waiting...they were totally ok with losing a customer. With all that said, food is fine but service isn't. read more

It was pretty empty at the time (so much better than crowded and noisy most places like that are).Glad we did! My friend got a great portion of yummy fresh veggies in an omelette. And I ordered a waffle with strawberries - it was beautiful. It was tasty enough, and this fine fellow cooking arranged awesome fresh cut strawberries on top, with one cut to look like a rose :) at breakers it's usually just a pile, ya know? Just saying, that gave me an extra breakfast smile. Delicious. Almost didn't want to eat the rose (But I did and it was delicious).
