Classic dinner look, love it. I ordered Joes special and thought it was delicious. The place was very clean also.

We went here on 9/3/18 (Labor Day). The place was packed and they warned us that it would take a while to get our order, but we weren't in any hurry so we stayed. It took nearly an hour to get a couple of omelets, so I guess "a while" is a relative term. The prices are high and the quality is so-so. Supply and demand in full force here. If you want a sit-down breakfast in Pacifica, you're going to pay. Next time, I'll look for a better value. read more

This place participated in the Taste of Pacifica Saturday, 6/6. I found a new place for local food. The place is clean and the walls are decorated with paintings by talented artists. Like all restaurants, if you come by 9:30a or so you can beat the rush. Once everyone rolls out of bed and their stomachs wake up growling for breakfast, they're headed somewhere for a good quick meal. By the time we left it was full and people were waiting for a seat. It was a comfortable, clean and friendly local diner establishment. Our waitress was friendly and provided our meals immediately while it was hot. The portions were just right and not overwhelming. The dollar pancakes had a hint of cinnamon which was different and quite tasty! I think they should hire at least another person, part time at least to handle the register or wait tables. Two people take the orders, clean the tables, handle the register and serve the food. There are two cooks in the back working hard to get orders out right away. It's open from 7:00am - 3:00pm daily and I definitely would recommend trying this place for breakfast at least. Gotta come back and try lunch. read more

Why is everyone hating this place? Haha. It's good old fashion diner breakfast. It's nice to have something that can offer the typical American breakfast staples at reasonable prices. So far I've only had their eggs Benedict but it's delicious!! So I keep going back for that and a hot chocolate. That's all anyone needs, really. My husband got some amazing omelet. I can't remember the name :/ but it was generous and fresh. I'm already planning on going back again tomorrow. I might try something else, finally, but damn I love their eggs Benedict. All they really need now is a biscuit and gravy dish and I'm set. Haha. The service overall was basic. The waitress was friendly but left us alone. If you're in a rude hurry or want some crazy gluten-free- bs fancy thing then don't come here. read more

DO NOT GO THERE ! The toasted bread had GREEN mold on it and HAIR in the ball of butter. We were there for brunch on Feb 29, 2023 - party of two. When we brought it to the waitress' attention - she timidly brought it up with the Cook. The Cook yelled at the waitress and said "so what do you want me to do about it". The owner or lead employee was at the cash register making personal phone calls and taking LOUDLY so he could not hear anything else. We sat the table for two next to the store front window so we had a clear view of the Cook, the Lead Employee at the cash register. We paid our bill before eating our food, tipped the waitress and vowed to never go there again. read more

Although the food was very good and the eggs where cooked to perfection, I don't recommend this place if you're in a hurry or hungry. I observed that they cooked one meal at a time. We've been sitting here for 45 min and just got our food. This is just simple breakfast food. read more

I recently went to the Pacifica dog surfing championships. My 2 nieces and nephew were hungry and wanted taco bell. The line on the beach was way too long. So we went to the plaza across the street. I love cafe's. My 3 kids were skeptical. We went anyways. 5 stars , from all of us. The bacon here is amazing. I know. I know. Bacon, in general, is already amazing. So just imagine the best of bacon! We live in San Jose. So , probably won't get to Sunrise very often. But, for anybody closer by. Give this place a try. It's excellent and very nice servers. This is a small cafe that all the lovals know each other. The Joes special is fantastic with large portions so we took 40% home cost $11.00. This is worth stoping in for a good meal. read more

This place is like our "comfort food" restaurant. The staff are always friendly, the food is well priced and the omelets are massive. I've actually never had a bad experience here and if I had to guess, we have been here about 30 times. Totally worth trying if you haven't already. read more

Loved it here! It was my first time coming with my family and the server was very friendly and patient when taking our orders. Food was great better than Denny's, absolutely loved their French toast and their bacon is crispy. Definitely coming back soon! read more

This is the absolute cutest neighborhood breakfast place. We also used a recommend yelp review as a suggestion, & so glad we did. Very good food, tasty & just the right amount. The hostess was unbelievably friendly, I had to question myself if I new her from some where else. It's not a big diner, but once inside & seated, the atmosphere is old~school. No fancy espresso or coffee machines with 1/4 whip or half goat milk,... just good ole coffee from a glass canister, cream & c & h sugar. A great simple location & would highly recommend this breakfast cafe. read more

Nothing special. The service was good and the chef brought out the food. My Mexican Omelet was good but we had to ask for tortillas. Only issue my wife brought up is that it is twice as expensive as other breakfast places in SSF like Cable Car. I don't care about this but my Mexican omlete with chorizo was great! read more

I just want to say I absolutely love this cafe. My fiancé and I have been coming here since Oct 2021 and the food is amazing and Nancy our waitress is the best waitress I have ever come across. She is like having 4 waitresses, on top of being a hostess and cashier and cleans the tables all in one. She is able to serve a full cafe on her own and does an amazing job at it. She's sweet as can be and never shows any signs of stress when it looks like it could be a high stress job covering all tables on her own. Nancy is the type of waitress you want to leave a huge tip for. Highly recommend this lovely cafe. read more

Horrible service and owner was so mean to me I wanted to cry , arrogant first time , I tried to go back to order a BLT and would not serve me because I had my puppy French bull dog , I only wanted to order and wait outside , every restaurant in the shopping center serves me for pick up ! Lost my business !! He's really rude ! So I just ordered elsewhere , told me to tie my puppy up , really a French bull dog that are all be stolen , every restaurant hugs her and likes me , sorry to loose a breakfast place that was close , we were not eating inside , she will be a service dog soon read more

I really like this place. My husband and I come here frequently for breakfast and haven't yet been disappointed. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is excellent. There no wait for a table and very good menu. My favorite is 2 eggs sunny side up with potatoes and bacon. Also the strawberry waffle with whip cream is delicious. I enjoy coming here because: 1) For one fixed price, I can load up my omelette up with a mountain of different veggies and cheese. Best in town. YUM!!!! (I often leave with enough food for a second meal.) 2) They serve hash browns. (I despise the pretentious, usually dry-as-a-bone, ubiquitous "breakfast potato"). 3) For a small charge, they let me sub a slice of french toast for regular toast, which is almost unheard of in most places. 4) No one says a word or gives me the eye when I bring my own latte from the Starbuck's next-door. 5) It is not a chain. 6) It is clean and does not smell like grease. (I couldn't come here when it was Kerri's, because Kerri'd had inadequate ventilation and the place smelled bad.) It is a small diner, so I don't go in expecting white-table-cloth-level service for a bill that will likely run south of $30.00, meaning the waitstaff are hardly pulling in the big bucks. In a shopping mall tucked away near Pacifica State Beach is a casual, no frills diner. Interior is a classic looking diner, old school counter seating, and booths a plenty. This place would be great for a hangover cure. The food wasn't memorable but its convenient. read more

Perfect breakfast before hiking the beaches and canyons. My son and I each ordered the scrambled eggs, hash browns, and sausage. We declined the toast, but they offered corn tortillas as a substitute at no charge. The meal lacked salt and/or seasoning, but was easily remedied by the numerous hot sauces on the table. We are both Celiac, and neither of us got sick. Our server checked back to see if we needed anything, refills, napkins, condiments, etc. She was nice and professional and helpful. read more

This was our first visit to Sunrise. On our previous visit to Pacifica we had breakfast at Breakers because we stayed next door at Best Western...although convenient and getting good reviews...all we could remember was the horrible service. So after searching we decided on Sunrise Cafe and are glad we did. It is a small diner in the strip mall across from Safeway, easy access from main road. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a friendly waitress. We were served very good hot coffee. I chose the Dollar Pancake meal with bacon and egg. It was very very good. My husband chose the Denver Omelette with has browns and he loved his meal as well. This is exactly the type of cafe we love. Very clean, friendly service and good food. We will definitely return on our next visit. read more

Thought we would give it a try. Would rather see our money go to a family run place rather than Denny's. They definitely have some issues to work out. Would be nice if someone acknowledged you when you walk in. We seated ourselves and waited patiently for someone to even smile at us so that they knew we were there. Finally a nice girl came over and took our drink order. Waited longer and then asked the nice girl if we could please place our order. Guess it never occurred to her to ask us even though we were sitting there twitting our thumbs. My daughter enjoyed her Mickey Mouse pancake. My other daughter said her omelet was good except for the chunks of fatty bacon inside. My eggs were cooked nicely. My husband ordered eggs Benedict. Not a great choice. Eggs came out hard yet sloppy at the same time. Sauce was cold. They redid his eggs and nuked the sauce and it was edible. Two families that came in after us eventually left after not being acknowledged by the staff. I hope this place works out its kinks and succeeds. Do not eat here. Was starving and came with my dad. Order breakfast only to find a hair in my food. When i complained the hostess was nice but the cook came back and argued with me. He then told me the kitchen was closed and he wasnt going to serve me. I said ok. He was complaining behind the kitchen and i think the hostess convinced him to make another plate. He delivered the plate and told me see... No hair. I ate the eggs and patty and when i went to eat the tomatoes i saw the hair. Worst place ever. Dont go!!!!! read more

I tried going here to get some brunch around 2pm last weekend. I tried calling first since I was just going to pick up the food. No answer... This has happened before. So I got in the car and drove down there (about a 10 minute drive) to see the Closed sign in the window. Since they are supposed to be open until 2:30 I went inside to see if I could still order. The woman behind the counter told me she closed because she had too many tables to wait on. I said I just wanted togo food but she insisted that she wouldn't take my order.
