Lava burger didn't live up to it's name

Friday night outing with my wife and aunt. Three burger two shakes and a lava beer (guava) . X 2 fried (delicious) and aside salad with house dressing. Yummy. One person behind counter. Non existent help bussing tables an bringing out orders. The two medium done burgers came out perfectly done. The rare one came more done than the medium. It happens I get it. But still ate it because you never send anything back to the cook. The jalapeño burger lacked heat , the peppers were pickled. It would have been nice to have fresh peppers they were roasted. Will come again to try other things.

Nice local burger spot in the plaza by the beach. I visited for the first time on a weekday evening with a couple of my cousins to catch up over a meal. The small location is eye catching and well-lit, which was good as it was getting quite dark as we were arriving. During the winter, it can get very cold out, so I was hoping there were seats available inside, but all the tables were occupied. It is very limited seating inside -- a couple small tables and one medium sized communal table. We ended up having to sit outside, there are a couple tables just outside the establishment. Thankfully we were bundled up for the cold! -- Service -- The employee taking our orders was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, and he was even kind enough to bring our orders outside to our table, asking if we wanted extra ketchup, mustard, napkins, etc. -- Food -- I ordered the Hang-Loose Burger, which had grilled pineapple, swiss cheese, and teriyaki sauce. It was absolutely delicious. Fresh, hot, juicy, and sweet. The pineapple and teriyaki sauce really made it sweet and delicious, and the cheese pull was fantastic! Added curly fries on the side with extra ketchup as the perfect salty addition to this burger. There are so many interesting and unique options here, I'll have to try more next time. Portion was quite large, good for the price you're paying. I was not super hungry at the time, so I only ate half. Took the rest home and reheated it a few hours later -- and there was a noticeable decrease in the flavor and quality. I would definitely recommend arriving hungry, and finishing it all while its fresh and delicious! 4/5 stars -- Great food and service, just wish there was more indoor seating!

COWabunga what a great burger. Little place by the beach with great burgers. Stopped in here for lunch and ordered the Western Burger with fries. The burger party it self was pretty big! I was honestly surprised it was that big and piled high with onion rings! Usually you get like 1 maybe 2 tiny onion rings on a burger like this but I got a few big ones. The melty cheese and the Smokey bbq sauce really pulled everything together. Not to mention the bun was a nice soft sesame bun. The fries were very good too and reminded me of McDonald's fries in the best possible way. Thing shoe string style that were just the right amount of crisp. The man behind the counter couldn't have been nicer either! It is very pricey though within my burger, fries and soda costing $23. If you're in the area and got a few bucks to spare on an amazing burger stop in!

We walk the Pacifica Beach Shoreline often and shop at the Grocery Outlet nearby, so we started to notice that the Burger-Board had quite the crowd both inside and outside in the late afternoon each time. So we decided to give them a try one day when we did not want to cook at home. Burger Board has a variety of Burgers, Sandwiches, Wings, Hot Dogs, Fries and onion Rings. They also have a pretty decent craft beer selection, score. Burgers are between $15-18 depending on the toppings, but come with your choice of fries or onion rings. They also have a chicken sandwich, which my boyfriend has ordered a couple of times. Our kid always has a good time here, she loves fries, people watching and fun places. Service is always friendly and we enjoy coming here for an early dinner.

Ordered take out here for the 1st time this evening. My husband and I both ordered medium-well burgers and mine was medium rare to medium ( a lot of red) and my husbands was medium. Considering it's a burger place that charges what it charges they should be able to cook to the correct temperature.

Burger-Board has the best burgers in Pacifica, bar none. Located off Highway 1 on the Linda Mar Beach, this chill little surfing themed burger joint packs a solid punch with big, juicy beef paddies, crispy fries, and a handful of beers on tap. I got the Wiped-Out burger, which is a cheeseburger with a fried egg and bacon. I was surprised by how fat and the paddy was, it's a lot of burger to handle and even for a fairly large person like myself, it was hard to finish due to its size. Luckily I didn't have too much trouble getting it all down because it's quite delicious. By default the beef's cooked medium, but you can specify with the person at the register if you prefer your burgers cooked a different way. The optional fries were also very good: crispy, plentiful, and flavorful. The spot itself is fairly small so on a nice day at the beach both the interior seating area and the parking lot can get pretty packed, but during the week and even at off peak hours on weekends it's a pretty relaxed and accessible restaurant. Don't waste your time with other burgers in Pacifica, Burger-Board is the place to go.

As a lover of all things burgers, I had this one on the list for awhile and found myself right by and finally got to try it. All burgers come with a 1/2 lb burger patty and regular fries, and it's made with niman-ranch beef. For $14 ($17 after tax n tip) i got a cheeseburger and fries that left me hella full. The burger patty itself was juicy and flavorful, it just needed a lil bit more char for my liking. The fries were crispy, salty, and standard. Tasty burger. I dunno why but I'd classify this as a quintessential beach burger. For some reason whenever I eat a burger by the beach, they taste very similar, which isn't a bad thing. Considering all the hikes in the area, and the beach, this is a great spot for a post workout burger. No frills, just your classic burger.

Here is where most of the food on the menu is spot on GOOD. I recommend this place over other spots here. Just not a fan of their kids menu.

A solid local burger spot. Chill and welcoming vibes. The staff here are warm and friendly. Menu is straightforward nothing fancy but to the point. Got a burger and onion rings and for the price it was solid. Burger was big and meaty, toppings on were fresh and the bacon was crispy and generous. The onion rings were fresh and crispy, good snap not soggy. This place was a nice stop after checking out the area.

(Ok, been here a few times, I swear I'm a healthy eater.) Located at the end of Hayes St shopping district. The food is 5 star. Prices are a bit higher than your average hot dog, but these are hearty, well-built dogs that definitely justify it. I ordered the Hayz, their signature dog, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. If you are looking for an upscale hot dog in San Francisco, this one might take the cake. Great flavor, excellent snap, and very satisfying overall. We also tried the Tramp. Both were solid, with that satisfying bite you want in a good hot dog. The Tramp was tasty, with bacon always being a win, though it leaned a bit spicier than my personal preference. The space itself is small and a little cramped, but that adds to the charm. It feels very new-age San Francisco, blending creativity and a bit of kookiness rather than sticking to traditional East Coast hot dog vibes. There is no seating, but that is not an issue at all since the small park in Hayes Valley is just steps away and makes for a great place to enjoy your food. Overall, a great spot if you are craving something fun, filling, and a little elevated. Definitely worth stopping by, especially if you find yourself wanting a second dinner done right.

And have definitely visited many around the planet. Including carts in NYC, Chicago, and yes, even around SF. So I was looking forward to trying out what a Pacific Hot Dog cart could serve up in a jif. Being what seems to me as a Brand New business, I have to say The Foggy Wiener has some way to go to equal any other cart I have eaten a hot dog from in the past. Some point below about their cart. Cleanliness is excellent. Appearance is basic towable food cart. Plain sign. But hey, you didn't come to hang out at the cart did you? Hot dog. Okay quality. The guy on the cart could not tell me the brand of the dog. But the flavor and texture was okay. Chili was okay too. Meat only. Nothing to write home about. But good for the hot dog. Cheese was good. No complaints here. Shred was what it needed to be for the dog. Actually, a lot of hot dog carts around the SF Bay area don't have cold cheese on their carts And I can understand why. So it was nice to see a cold grated cheese available. Bun was sort of a failure. Soft and warm to be sure. But also soggy right out of the warmer-steamer. If you buy a hot dog from The Foggy Wiener plan on stuffing in your mouth like you were at a hot dog eating contest. Because anything slow and the bun will just fall into a sog on the plate. Wrap / Plate. At this point The Foggy Wiener only has French fry holders or plates. If you get a hot with any kinds of liquids on it, such as their chili, plan of asking for a plate because you will need it Something else I would like to see offer is a foil wrap. The beach is a couple of hundred feet away. A wrapped dog to go would be a better option. Price for my Chili-Cheese with mustard hot dog was $7.00. In today's post-COVID world an okay price. But for size of the dog definitely not the value found in other locations. Be careful when you pay. The Foggy Wiener did know their own prices listed on their own menu for what I was buying. Payment is by CASH ONLY! No cards No other electronic payment. Probably would not accept a check either if you happen be carrying around your ledger, a quill, and an ink pot. So come prepared to slam down those greenbacks. Skill. This is a new cart and it shows! The guy on The Foggy Wiener's cart didn't know how to run the equipment. Popped the lids on several containers searching for the items I ordered. And was generally lost. Or maybe just nervous for the first customers? Was dropping utensils. Didn't know how deftly open the bun for dog and toppings placement. Dropped an entire square pan into the body of the warmer after moving it around. Everything shouted newbie cart owner. All this said, I would still like to go back in the future. As I said, I am a sucker for a hot dog. But I am also a sucker for a new business too. I would love to visit again after the owner has a change to learn their equipment and build up dog hocking skill. A decent Hot Dog I the Manor area would be great to take to the bluffs and beach to enjoy along with the coastal sunsets.

The bun was very good, and the lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles were all fresh. That's the end of the positives for this place. The Beyond burger comes with sweet-potato fries. I didn't want those, so I asked for onion rings instead. When my meal arrived, I was pretty disappointed that there were only eight onion rings on my plate, the vast majority of them on the smaller side, with only two large ones. They were OK, and I probably should have ordered fries. I paid with my debit card and didn't really pay attention at the counter, but when I got back to my car and pulled the receipt out of my pocket, I saw that I had been charged more than $30. The cheese was $1.95, so where did this huge additional charge come from? Instead of just subbing my onion rings for the sweet-potato fries that come with what I ordered, they charged me the full $10.95 for a side order of onion rings even though both sweet-potato fries and onion rings cost $10.95 as standalone side orders. The woman who took my order didn't say a word about this, because I clearly wouldn't have paid that much extra without getting any credit whatsoever for the side I wasn't having. The inside of the place is comforting in a forty-years-out-of-date kind of way. With prices this high, though, I expect everything to be better. Even if they hadn't bogus-charged extra for the onion rings, $10.95 for eight onion rings? Really? Are onions, beer, and breading really that expensive these days? Of course not. This place is a ripoff, which is a shame, because I've always wanted to try its Mission District location, which I've always assumed was the only location.
