Chicken Parm

Food was excellent and the waitress was very kind. She was always moving and serving tables, but was still so considerate and upbeat. She could serve me slop and I would still have a good time. However the chicken parm was delicious! Eat here, but be nice to the sweet woman!

Luigi's never disappoints and since we're out of towners, we only get to eat here at minimum of one time a year. We had to give our condolences for Luigi who we have had the pleasure to meet a few times over the past 5 + years we've been customers. David took care of us today and we appreciate the hospitality and great food as always. R.I.P Luigi, you are truly missed.

If you haven't been here , come hear. We make it a destination for an early evening of good food and conversation with the family. Too much time on your computer, come here and enjoy a glass of Chianti or a beer with pizza. Service is good . We sit inside and relax. Food is always served hot . They do get busy on game days so , prepare for a little wait if you come when there is a big game going on. To be honest waiting is kinda fun because you can talk to each other and find the connection that people have lost nowadays.

I mostly come here for the espresso & to practice Italian with one of the cashiers who is a native speaker. They throw on a basketball game and sometimes if it's super slow, the staff will come out from the back to watch. The setting is pretty small, four or five tables indoor seating only w/ ethnically Italian artwork strung along the walls w/ a REALLY nice interior paint job. I've enjoyed their panini sandwiches & some pasta dish (can't recall the name). Have yet to be disappointed by Buona Italia Caffe! It seems like they also take reservations for larger parties, I've came in a few times where three or four of the tables are strung together for family dinners. The business appears to be family owned & operated. Keep up the awesome work & thank you for being a centerpiece of Pacifica culture. Ya'll are the cat's pajamas! LOL

The gentleman that took our order was very polite and helpful. We ordered: 1. Clam linguine- small portion for the price, and lacked flavor. It tasted more like butter noodles with a side of clams (this was Mentioned by other yelpers). 2. Chicken Parmigiano- it was edible but it was drenched in a marina sauce that tasted like tomato sauce. There wasn't much season or salt. Normally the sauce serves as a compliment to the chicken cutlet. The chicken was drowned in the sauce to the point it became soggy. The green beans that were served with it were actually cooked perfectly. 3. Homemade gnocchi- another dish that was drowned in tomato sauce which caused the gnocchi to be overcooked. We were really wanting to enjoy this place. And for the first time all of the low star reviews were spot on about this restaurant.

Located at the Fairmont Shopping Center in Pacifica, Bolare is conveniently located in the same complex that is home to establishments that we frequent. After grocery shopping at Safeway or vet appointments at Banfield, dropping by here to pick up dinner is a smart choice. The casual restaurant, with yellow-painted walls and hardwood floors, invites guests to a warm and cozy atmosphere. Their main dining room can accommodate about sixty persons which includes seats at the bar. They also have a private room that can seat about ten people for an intimate party. The venue has always been clean and tidy during all of my visits. Bolare boasts an impressively extensive menu offering authentic Italian cuisine with plates worthy of exploring from ANTIPASTI to ZUPPA & INSALATA, ENTREES, PASTA, PIZZA, to DESSERTS. Generous portion sizes served here at reasonable prices and the food is well-prepared and crafted with care. Must-Try Dishes: FATTORIA SALAD - Yum, they don't skimp out on the gorgonzola cheese nor the candied walnuts and the slightly grilled pear slices are substantial in size. CAESAR SALAD - The chopped romaine lettuce leaves are packed with shredded parmesan cheese, toasty croutons, and a few kalamata olives. EGGPLANT PARMESAN - Served with a side of pasta, this tasty dish is the ultimate Italian comfort food. TORTOLLINI DE LA CASA - V likes to omit the mushrooms and add Fulton Valley free-range chicken breast to this beautiful mix of colored cheese-stuffed tortellini. According to him, it tastes as good as it looks. POLLO MARSALA - This is my go-to dish, tender chicken breast cooked to perfection in a savoury mushroom sauce. With pleasure, Bolare has allowed me to substitute the potatoes with fettuccine in pink aurora sauce or with gorgonzola sauce, guaranteeing a delectable meal. FETTUCCINE POLLO - This seems to be Z's regular order. The noodles are cooked to perfection, the chicken is tender and moist, and the alfredo sauce is always deliciously rich. BOLARE PIZZA - A meat lover's choice with perfectly charred crust. FARMER'S MARKET PIZZA - This vegetarian Mediterranean-style pie is vibrant in presentation and loaded with toppings. LIMONCELLO CAKE - If you are a fan of the traditional Italian lemon-flavoured liqueur, this delightful dessert is for you! We have yet to stay and dine in at Bolare, but the friendly, hospitable service and commitment to customer satisfaction have been evident through their engaging conversations as well as their willingness to customize items. During my first visit, while I sat at the bar, waiting for my take-out order, Ricky served a cold glass of water to me. Bolare Trattoria & Pizzeria is definitely a local gem.

The service was amazing from start to finish. We started with the smoked salmon appetizer with grilled baguette, mascarpone, onion, and capers, which was delicious. For my entrée, I had the Dungeness crab cakes with fall vegetables, mashed potatoes, marinated fennel, petite frisée, and caper aioli, and it was incredible. My partner got the lobster mac & cheese, which was rich, flavorful, and definitely did not disappoint. The scenery alone makes the wait for the food enjoyable and relaxing. We started with the clam chowder and calamari for appetizers. The calamari was a bit small for the price, but the chowder was enjoyable. For our entrees, we ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese, Grilled Salmon Pinwheel, Dungeness Crab Cioppino, and Mussels-Frites. The dishes were decent overall, though nothing particularly stood out for us. Unfortunately, the Mussels-Frites, listed as one of the Chef's Specialties was overly salty, which was a bit disappointing since we had high expectations for it. Overall, it seems like many people come here mainly for the beautiful coastal view and relaxing atmosphere rather than the food itself. As for us, it was nice to experience once, but probably not a spot we'd return to.

We came on what looked like and felt like a locals regular night full of families and well dressed seniors. I hate being seated by a busser station or kitchen listening to the noise or the staff thinking they can talk crap about customers because they are stacking dishes or running a credit card but that is exactly what happened. Being hangery (hungry-angry) makes us change our dining standards. This being said we had to listen to the young staff's complaining. My partner ordered and received a large seafood salad and I ordered fish and chips. My food tasted like a large refrigerator Orida fish patty that was fried and large slices of potatoes that came out of the same oil. Being from the San Francisco bay area I compare all my sea food to that and have to say that I was greatly disappointed with the lack of taste even though I see that it was "handmade beer batter" dish. Unfortunately, I dont have too many positive things to say about this place except it is a good place to cure hugry.

It's always been a dated space, but it has crossed over into musty and dirty. It didn't help that the place was also deserted. I felt like I was in a movie scene where the protagonist wanders into a deserted roadside cafe to order coffee and a sandwich from a rough-talking waitress and the only sound in the otherwise empty restaurant is the incessant droning of a ballgame from the ancient TV (hmm...that's kind of almost exactly what happened). This was mid-day on a Sunday when it used to be a hopping time for them. Granted, it was between Christmas and New Year's, but I suspect another part of it is that they no longer serve breakfast. Their breakfasts were hearty and delicious and a big weekend draw; sadly, the breakfast chef (I think he may have been one of the owners or the father of the current owner) passed away two years ago and breakfast was taken off the menu. I gave two stars because my sandwich and fries were still good, but I highly doubt I'll be back, ever. There doesn't seem to be any effort at all to create an inviting or even clean atmosphere. I remember being surrounded by other diners and hearing the happy chatter of families celebrating birthdays. Is it different at dinnertime? Possibly, but I just can't see how.

This was the best house salad I have ever had. Calamari steak - 7/10 - this was cooked very nicely and was piled high with garlic. The garlic wasn't overpowering at all and mixed well with the tartar sauce. The mash potatoes - 8.5/10 - were amazing and creamy. The menu had a wide variety of dishes.
