We got the Black raspberry and cookies and cream ice cream. Reasonable prices and incredibly delicious! We'll be going back for more before we leave town!

I've lived in oakmont almost 3 years now and have somehow never tried this place! I went one day after dinner because I figured it was time.... Bad mistake. Now I have to go every Sunday after dinner to get the ice cream!! It's so worth it and if you live in oakmont/Verona and haven't been, you're missing out. The workers are always so sweet and it's a great vibe outside when it starts to get warmer.

Well, Brr-Kee's has done it again. I know that the blueberry pie ice cream isn't much to look at, but it has the most delicious pieces of pie crust mixed into it. Also, the vanilla White House cherry was so creamy and wonderful as well. Now, if they would only bring back the cinnamon ice cream and have the blueberry pie ice cream at the same time, now that would be a match made in ice cream heaven!

A super terrific ice cream shop in Oakmont. Home made delights made to order and sure to please the discriminating palate of kids like my 10 year old grandson, who recommends the double - actually has 3 scoops - with vanilla chocolate and strawberry, with chocolate sauce on top. It seems to please the lad...

I walk in Oakmont all the time and I've passed by Brr Kee's very many times. Today I finally stopped by and got myself some of their peanut butter yogurt (frozen yogurt). First off, it's important to remember they are cash only. As others noted, it's a bit of nuisance, but it's alright. The prices for the ice cream are fairly cheap. There's a great variety of options to choose from. You can get pints, quarts, and even 1/2 gallons of the daily flavors. One slightly annoying thing about the menu is the way in which it's presented outside the store. For instance, someone in my group wanted to get their sorbet bowl which was advertised right outside the store on a whiteboard. However, they told us they were out not only of the the sorbet bowl, but of all sorbet. It would be nice if they had erased the option once they ran out. I also couldn't find their yogurt flavor and only knew about it because of a post in their Facebook. However, I must say that the product is pretty tasty. It's not the best ice cream or frozen dessert I've ever had, but it satisfied me. It was packed to the brim! The texture was good for a frozen yogurt and the peanut butter flavor was great. However, I would have loved actual peanut butter ripples/streaks instead of just a peanut butter flavored yogurt base. All in all, I'm going to return, simply because it's nearby, has great variety, and the prices are reasonable. I hope they start erasing products they are out of from the whiteboard.

Nice little ice cream place in Oakmont. A lot of options to choose from. The hot fudge sundae I ordered was covered with whip cream and chopped nuts. My wife tried the strawberry and kiwi sorbet and enjoyed it. Service very good.

I stopped over here since I had some time to kill before the elementary school office opened for me to get my tickets to Riverview's musical. The ice cream stand is located in the heart of Oakmont's business district and are open year round. All ice cream is made on site and you are permitted samples. I was tempted to get the apple dumpling sundae but knew it would be too much for me. I decided to go with the blueberry pie ice cream. A picture board shows you the different sizes and a small cone or cup is usually two scoops. Prices are very reasonable even though it is cash only. The ice cream comes with delicious pie pieces inside. I also had sampled the black raspberry and although it was good there really wasn't anything spectacular about it. Plenty of free onsite parking is available along with picnic tables for enjoying your ice cream in warmer weather. There is a restroom but a sign is noted on it "not for public use." Brr-Kee's sells a list of regular flavors along with specialty flavors one of which I enjoyed as mentioned above. They are located on the south side of the railroad tracks near a couple of restaurants I hope to visit and close to the site of the previous location of Oakmont Bakery. It appears to be the only ice cream shop I noticed in the Oakmont business district and is worth a stop if you find yourself in the area. Next visit I will look into seeing if they have a rewards program.

We stopped by Brr-Kee's after having dinner a few doors down on Saturday evening when the weather was beautiful. My husband ordered a banana split for us to share and we both agreed that it was the best we'd ever had. The ice cream was hand dipped, there was plenty of whipped cream on top, and each scoop had it's own cherry (which is totally the key to my heart). They have an extensive menu that includes specialty flavors, cones, and a variety of sundaes. The prices are reasonable, too. We'll definitely go back.

    Pumpkin! Awesome fall flavor.
    Jim M.

Wow! Pumpkin ice cream, I took a break from "whats the richest chocolate you have?" And tried the pumpkin ice cream, and it was amazing. Nice serving size for the money, and it must be off the charts in butter fat contact because it was smooth and creamy in addition to having a great pumpkin taste without too much spice flavor I'm glad I tried it. Pumpkin is a great flavor of the fall season and these guys nailed it!! Service was good here like it always is.

I had a hard time rating this because it isn't bad ice cream. But it is incredibly average. Would I come here again? Of course! It's also a block away from my house and has a lot of variety. I would not take an out of towner here to show off Pittsburgh's ice cream, however. Annoyed that it was cash only, but it's pretty cheap so I just gathered some change. They hire teens that have never had jobs before, and they do okay. The menu is okay. The seating area is okay. They seem decently busy. Just nothing too special or defining. I will keep coming and see if anything wows me.

The simplified elegance is also accompanied by the hospitality of the staff. Warm welcomes and greeting each customer as if they are a regular creates an atmosphere that you want to be in for every meal... and you didn't even eat yet. The menu has plenty of options, but I asking for suggestions... the staff can help you to find those hidden gems of Oakmont. The fried zucchini appetizer is not your normal bread crumbed planks- but a pillowy tempura batter that is cleverly aired to avoid sogginess with their plating technique. I would highly suggest grabbing this as an app. The bread service is already fresh and delicious... but the secret sauce... ask your waiter for the dip. Yes, it now costs a little extra. But oh my word.... It is worth every scent. The Blackenzola is worth the creative name and topping! The gorgonzola is fresh and adds such a delicious crust with the balsamic glaze on top of their filet mignon. The chef cooks the meat to perfection and it is a great meal. The green beans are a great vegetable option. The mashed potatoes make sense to be a Chef's Choice. The piping on the plate is beautiful - and they are smooth and creamy! After eating such good food, you have to say yes to just see the Dessert menu... and the tiramisu was calling my name. They give you a large portion and you can taste the freshness of this decadent dessert. All in all, Hoffstot's is a place that you will feel welcome, you will want to come back, and they will probably remember you.. or at least make you feel like part of the family.

My default when I don't feel like being disappointed…read more @thepubat333 is that easy "let's just go to..." and no one argues it because it just...works. There's enough going on menu-wise that everyone figures it out, and I'm not exaggerating-every single time I've been there since they opened, someone at the table orders a French dip. Every. time. It's basically part of the experience now. Also if I see pierogi, I'm ordering pierogi. That's just who I am. Could've taken down the entire plate without blinking but I shared like a respectable adult (meanwhile mentally tracking which ones were supposed to be mine). The black and bleu shrimp was absolutely amazing. It's got blackened spice and has this creamy sauce that makes you go dip for more (I need that recipe honestly). If I had some bread, I'd definitely use this as a dip lol. We got the thin crust Sicilian pizza to share. The pizza unfortunately was very wet and kind of soggy. I think they could have waited to let it rest for a few min before serving because it would especially show when we were separate the slices and try to take one off the plate. I don't usually want my toppings and cheese to just slide off the pizza. Also since we were at a bar w/ some of the games going on, we wanted wings and got their crispy whole wings in a dry spice rub. They were pretty big wings and well seasoned -- not too spicy though if that's not your vibe.
