Taking a break from my bike ride
Christopher N.

As a frequent North Park visitor, this Kool Cones has been my go-to spot for ice cream for years. Nothing beats taking a break during a bike ride on a hot day before doing another couple laps around the lake. And thanks to their extensive menu you can come often and still try something different each time. Today I tried the waffle bowl hot fudge sundae, which was nice even on a cool October afternoon, but I've also had the frozen yogurt, soft serve, and milkshakes in various flavors and toppings. Not a bad option among them. Another incentive to return are the seasonal flavors, like the pumpkin I tried a few weeks ago. Prices are reasonable and what you'd expect, there is some picnic bench seating, and a bit of noise being right along the road. But it's nothing too bad, I've been at much noisier indoor restaurants, haha. Despite not being open year round, they do open earlier and close later on the season compared to other places which works out perfectly for those unseasonably warm days!

A Small ice cream stand outside of North Park. They offer soft serve, hard ice cream and some yogurt. Also plenty of sundaes to choose from. A Great option after walking the dog at North Park in the summer months. Service has been good.

The cherry dip had no taste and felt like I was eating wax. I tried to peel it off, what a mess!

not happy with the service, asked for pecan delight and was served vanilla cone, kept insisting it was pecan.

Custard's First Stand - Banana split

Custard's First Stand

Custard's has the best black raspberry milkshake in existence. I've never ordered anything else…read morehere because nothing can top this flavor. I dream about this shake. 10/10. Love this place. So many options to choose from. Can't wait to come back for more.

4.5 stars. Custard's First Stand is an ice cream shop that sells the following:…read more soft-serve ice cream (e.g., chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry), soft-serve sundaes with toppings, specialty sundaes (e.g., pecan ball and s'mores), parfaits (e.g., peanut buster and Hawaiian), milkshakes (e.g., cotton candy and pineapple), premium milkshakes (e.g., mint Oreo and strawberry cheesecake), smoothies (e.g., cherry and black raspberry), Glaciers (e.g., Reese's Pieces and Snickers), premium Glaciers (e.g., Turtle and raspberry cheesecake), Hershey's ice creams (e.g., butter pecan and cookies 'n cream), frozen lemonade, novelties (e.g., ice-cream sandwich and chocolate banana), slushies (e.g., cherry and watermelon), shaved ice, etcetera. Another reviewer commented that Custard's First Stand does not sell custard. I, however, did see a "custard bar" and a custard "barrel" on the menu. I do agree that naming the business "Custard's" leads people to expect more custard. My husband and I stopped by Custard's First Stand on a weekday evening. We easily found a parking spot in the lot. Two employees were ready to serve us. I ordered a banana split, and my husband ordered a hot-fudge brownie. I got confused about the flavors of ice creams for the banana split, because the menu listed the toppings as "flavors." The employees immediately took our payment and made our treats. The weather was rainy, so I appreciated the pavilion that provided shelter for several tables and chairs. I enjoyed my banana split, and my husband enjoyed his hot-fudge brownie.
