There are about 15 parking spots and several benches to sit at. There is also a children's train to peruse for the youngins. My wife and I are spending the year touring the area of soft serve ice cream shops, and finally made it here for a cone. Not the cheapest option in the area, but by no means overpriced. I appreciated their special flavors of the week being Tangerine and Watermelon and decided on the latter. Can't say I've ever had watermelon soft serve but the flavor was subtle and refreshing. Close to the areas where I was staying at, Punks Ice Cream is located on a small corner. Plenty of parking to sit and enjoy the ice-cream. A little loud due to the traffic. Our latest visit there, the ice cream was so soft that it melted almost before I could eat it (and no, it wasn't an especially warm day). I find myself not going here very often. We have enjoyed this pace since moving to the area. They change their flavors pretty often but do tend to circle through the cycle pretty quickly back to the same. Covid has made me notice new things now. They are CASH only so the employee (often only one at a time) handles your money then goes directly to get your order. While they don't really touch the food as they use scoops and the cones are wrapped in paper, of course my kids love the little faces they make on the kid cones and she did need to touch those. There is no visible sink (must be in the back) so at busier times, when are they able to wash (no gloves are worn)? Covid aside even, this is concerning! read more

Super cute ice cream stand. They only serve ice cream, no food. Everything is PINK, the building, the flowers, even the parking lines! it's adorable. Employees are always friendly. They are, however, very limited with space. The parking lot is horrible, on a hill and odd parking angles. It's hard to get in or out if they are very busy. It's gives me anxiety when we do go here. The ice cream is also pretty expensive compared to the other local ice cream places. We do go here when it's convenient, but never make a special trip. I think they do pretty well though. read more

Note #1: I do not know their hours nor do I know exactly when they open and close for the season, but I can tell you they are not open year-round as I've zipped by here during the colder months and have seen it closed up. Note #2: CASH ONLY! Note #3: They offer both regular and soft serve ice cream. You'd think the ice cream would have mohawks of pretzel sticks on them. I think "Punks" is the family name, but do not quote me on that. As you drive along Route 65, you'll see a building painted shocking pink with a sign saying PUNKS obnoxiously glaring at you. However, when you walk up to the window, you'll see a bunch of wholesome-looking teenagers workin' away along with cariciatures of various employees on the wall. Punks has a fairly sizeable selection of flavors on deck, but I ordered the Pecan Ball, which only comes in vanilla. Hot fudge is spilled over the large, lonely nut-armored ball. From there it is buried under a mound of canned whipped cream. After a few spoonfuls, I rediscovered the simple joy of Yogi Berra's preferred frozen treat compounded by pieces of candy from Mother Nature's goodie jar. Kay got a Banana Hot Fudge Parfait (it's made with soft-serve) giggling as she relished it in my company. A warm, evening wind jostled us, a large, loud family squabbled jokingly nearby, and occasional flashes of lightning illuminated the deep indigo sky. All of that and having the following day off from work made our ice cream taste better for reasons beyond explanation. read more

This place is the cutest, and the ice cream is great..although wherever you do, do not order a sundae. For about $4.50 you get about half the amount ice cream you get with a McDonald's sundae. My kids were happy, and that's why I went there. I waited for everybody's ice cream (family of five) and it took forever for 3 cones, a snow ball, and then finally my sundae was last. Unfortunately my tasty sundae took about 4 bites and it was gone so I was left empty:( For $22.52, it was not worth it. I'll go to hanks next time. read more
