Getting a scoop of ice cream
Victoria G.

Stopped in for a cool treat on a hot summer day. I ended up getting lemon sorbet which reminds me of frozen lemon. Lots of seating outside and numerous unique fun flavors loved my staff and customers alike.

The cinnamon roll gelato is literally **the. best. thing. I. ever. ate.** I eat a low carb diet, and when I break it I seldom feel that it was worth it. But if I gain 5 lbs from this little cup of ambrosia, IDGAF!

Wow, what a great ice cream shop! I tried several flavors, and they were equally as delicious. We ended up mixing two flavors, because we just couldn't decide on one! I love that they have Leona's ice cream sandwiches here, oh and even local milk cheese and eggs. I just had to get the eggs, and I'm sure you would have too! (How adorable is that) I would have loved to have seen a dairy free option, other than sorbet.

You can't go wrong with the Confectionery. They have Perry's ice cream (my personal favorite!), gelato and a variety of local treats (including Brunton's chocolate milk) available all the time. There is both inside and outside seating. Stop by next time you're in Sewickley and looking for a yummy treat.

Cookie dough tornado with butterfinger

This ice cream shop is a step back in time. I never miss an opportunity to grab ice cream and this place did not disappoint. When you first walk in, you're greeted with a gum ball machine and acouple old school carnival games. Fun! There is a small seating area inside and outside that you can enjoy if the weather is nice. They have several creative and fun hand scooped ice cream options, along with a separate gelato case. I opted for a tornado, which is their equivalent to a blizzard. They don't offer as many mix-ins, but my cookie dough ice cream with butterfinger and peanut butter sauce did the trick. Everyone in our group was pleased with the selections. So you think this place only sells ice cream? WRONG! They got cheese, milks, lettuces, frozen meats. All of the things you've ever wanted at an ice cream store, but could never get. Stop by if you're in town!!

I stopped over here after lunch since I wanted to try their ice cream. I spoke to a very nice man behind the counter named Chris. They use Perry's premium ice cream for their various flavors. In addition, they sell Leona's ice cream sandwiches from Wilkinsburg and Italian gelato. I was free to sample whatever I wanted. The gelatos are made by the same people who make the ones for Mercurio's in Shadyside. Gelatos are a little more expensive than the regular ice cream but well worth it. Being a fan of dark chocolate I ordered one scoop of death by chocolate gelato which had chocolate chips in it. Chris gave me a cup with ice so I could fill it with water from their fountain to drink. This gelato was so good it was literally to die for! I asked about dairy free options and he told me that today they only had one ice cream and one gelato that were considered as such. They have only one table for seating since most people probably purchase it to go. In addition to the usual ice cream fare there is a case that sells dairy and cheese products as well as Sam Pelligrino, brown eggs, and bottled water. Free WiFi is available. Passcode given upon request. Chris told me that the Amish butter rounds come from a store west of this area and the glass milk gallons are by Bruten dairy. I have seen this brand when I visit certain grocery stores. Having purchased it one time prior I must say it is very good. Sewickley confectionery sits back a little bit from Beaver Ave and is next to a gas station which is next to Orr's fine jewelry. Metered street parking is available throughout the business district and it is an easy walk if you park in or around Broad St. This is a great place if you want a cool treat now that the weather is getting warmer and you happen to be in the Sewickley neighborhood.

A "hot fudge sundae" ‍

I'm sorry but this is not what I expected a hot fudge sundae to be. I questioned it and was told that they were out of whipped cream. That's obviously not the only problem with this.

Lots of spoon art decorations, neat

Cute little ice cream shop in Sewickley. Lots of flavors to choose from. They have limited seating and small space inside. We went in the evening so I did not notice outside seating. When we walked in there were a few others inside so it was kind of crowded. Cute decor and good ice cream though.

Never have a bad experience here, delicious ice cream and great service. No matter what you end up ordering you are sure to be satisfied. The location is ideal and even when there is a line out the door you'll never have to wait a long time. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for desert in the area

While in the area and looking for a place to get ice cream, I discovered this place online. I had…read morenever been before, and never heard of it as I am not from this side of Pittsburgh! My visit was on a Saturday night in May around 9:30 PM. It was not crowded at all, as we were one of a few groups there at the time. Plenty of seating options both inside and out, and we had no issue finding seating that worked for us. There was no line to order, so after taking a minute or two to look over the menu, I went to put in the order. The girls working the counter were very personable and helpful. They let me sample a few of the flavors, and were engaging in conversation with all of the customers when waiting on them. The shop had a bigger menu with some food items like pizza, appetizers, salads, and more, but we did not try any on this trip. It would be a one-stop shop for dinner and dessert to come here and eat from both the food menu and then the ice cream menu. We ordered two of the Specialty Sundaes - the Chocolate Chip Cookie and the Greek Style. Both are served with vanilla soft serve. I believe you can switch that out for a different flavor or type, but we stuck with the vanilla. The sundaes were not bad, but they were very average. The price of these were both $7.99 each before tax, and I would have thought they would be a little bigger. On the Greek Style, the baklava was in pieces crumbled over the top as opposed to a larger, singular piece. The cookie on the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae was not an oversized one that usually comes on sundaes like that at other shops. I am not sure what kind it was, but it appeared to be something mass produced, almost like a Chips Ahoy. Again, they were not bad, but for the price and the fact that they were on the Specialty Sundae menu, I would have expected more than what we got. I thought the prices here were high for the quality and quantity of the items. I am not sure if the value was there for the prices, but I would have to determine that after visiting another time or two to see if it was a one-off or if that is how it is for everything. I enjoyed getting to try this place. It has a good atmosphere, and is probably a lively place in the summertime and when the weather is nice. I would be interested to try more of the menu on a return trip. I am not sure if I would recommend the Speciality Sundaes, but the hard ice creams that I sampled were good and worth getting if you are stopping here!
