We used to own an ice cream store so I love to find places like this and hope to have the best experience. The store is inviting both inside and out. There is seating in both places. They serve food as well as ice cream, but I was only focused on the ice cream. There is hard and soft ice cream as well as lots of specialty items. Since I just finished a huge dinner, I ordered a small twist. Normally I would order a "blizzard", but they only have a 20 oz option. Had there been a smaller one, I would have gone there. My twist was served on my requested sugar cone for which I was happy. Often times places say they can't use a sugar cone for a twist. I know better and so does this place. Their soft serve was so similar to ours that I have to think they use the same dairy product. It was rich and creamy and wonderful. So happy we found this and since it's so close to the Drury Inn where we stay when in town, I know I will be back. read more

While in the area and looking for a place to get ice cream, I discovered this place online. I had never been before, and never heard of it as I am not from this side of Pittsburgh! My visit was on a Saturday night in May around 9:30 PM. It was not crowded at all, as we were one of a few groups there at the time. Plenty of seating options both inside and out, and we had no issue finding seating that worked for us. There was no line to order, so after taking a minute or two to look over the menu, I went to put in the order. The girls working the counter were very personable and helpful. They let me sample a few of the flavors, and were engaging in conversation with all of the customers when waiting on them. The shop had a bigger menu with some food items like pizza, appetizers, salads, and more, but we did not try any on this trip. It would be a one-stop shop for dinner and dessert to come here and eat from both the food menu and then the ice cream menu. We ordered two of the Specialty Sundaes - the Chocolate Chip Cookie and the Greek Style. Both are served with vanilla soft serve. I believe you can switch that out for a different flavor or type, but we stuck with the vanilla. The sundaes were not bad, but they were very average. The price of these were both $7.99 each before tax, and I would have thought they would be a little bigger. On the Greek Style, the baklava was in pieces crumbled over the top as opposed to a larger, singular piece. The cookie on the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae was not an oversized one that usually comes on sundaes like that at other shops. I am not sure what kind it was, but it appeared to be something mass produced, almost like a Chips Ahoy. Again, they were not bad, but for the price and the fact that they were on the Specialty Sundae menu, I would have expected more than what we got. I thought the prices here were high for the quality and quantity of the items. I am not sure if the value was there for the prices, but I would have to determine that after visiting another time or two to see if it was a one-off or if that is how it is for everything. I enjoyed getting to try this place. It has a good atmosphere, and is probably a lively place in the summertime and when the weather is nice. I would be interested to try more of the menu on a return trip. I am not sure if I would recommend the Speciality Sundaes, but the hard ice creams that I sampled were good and worth getting if you are stopping here! read more

We were visiting in the area and my husband wanted a milkshake well this was not the place to stop. #1 there was no restroom that we could find and the place smelled like cleaning supplies. He ordered a shake and once he tasted it he was done with it. $7 for a frosty in a cup with a straw. It was just soft serve whipped a little. This is simply an awesome place. Called scoops and more, but it's not just their ice cream that shines. All the food is delicious. It's a classic American diner type of joint in terms of the foods they offer, Lots of sandwiches, burgers, pizza, etc. I tried out their fish sandwich with mushrooms and provolone and ranch, as well as their hand packed milkshake with peanut butter cup and peanut butter twist. The sandwich was huge. For around $15: really can't be beat by many places. Even half is enough to satisfy most people. It's got a nice fried piece of haddock (I think), and the cheese and mushrooms were flavorful (not the freshest but that's ok). A good amount of bread, maybe tad much. Still, very good. The fries were also surprisingly good. Nice and crispy on the outside, and quite fluffy in the middle. They give you a nice portion size. They aren't seasoned much, but are still solid. Went so well with the ranch, and the fish was great with ranch too. Their ranch is just awesome. The milkshake was pretty good. As expected, on a Friday evening in June, the line of customers for this business was long. I patiently waited in line for many minutes until I could place my order. The employee who served me was nice enough, and she correctly made my ice creams and processed my payment. Outside were a several clean tables and chairs in which customers could sit. I came in on a Thursday evening around 7pm and there were maybe 3 parties in line ahead of me. The line moved quickly and there was ample indoor and outdoor seating. I saw someone get a chocolate chip cookie sundae that came in one of the normal sundae containers, like a boat shape, and I thought, "I want that!" I opted for the peanut butter cup sundae instead and I should have known it was going to end badly when I saw the lady grab a cup to make it in. She layered the chocolate soft serve with a literal CUP full of peanut butter and then went to the hot fudge machine that was "giving her trouble". The whole top of the cup was hot fudge and peanut butter, pouring down the sides of the cup. She looked at me and asked if I wanted whipped cream and a cherry.. there was NO way that was fitting on top. I declined. She handed it to me like that and said she was sorry, the machine was acting up. In a matter of seconds, it looked like a diaper exploded in my hands. She grabbed me a roll of paper towels and when I asked for a lid, she said it "would make it worse". I paid $8.19 after tax and left. Great little spot with a full menu and a lot of ice cream. I went on a Monday afternoon and it was very busy. They have about 40 flavors of hard ice cream. They explained that they keep the traditional flavors the same but rotate out the others biweekly so you have a good chance of getting your favorite. There are only 4 booths and 4 stools at the counter inside but a lot of outside seating. The parking lot is huge and it's very easy to get to. Definitely worth checking out. read more

So I asked for milkshake and she started to go to the soft serve. So I said oh you don't do the hard pack ice cream anymore she said well you have to ask for it and it's an up charge. Crazy little dessert place in the middle of nowhere that serves up a lot more than just dessert. If Hubs and I hadn't already eaten elsewhere, we might have taken a chance on the food here, but as it was, all we wanted was some good ice cream. And this tiny little restaurant served up just that. Counter personnel were nice. They seemed like high school kids doing a "first" job, but they were pleasant enough and efficient. Sundaes were perfect and hit the spot. It wasn't overly busy when we were there (weekend night about an hour before closing), but people were coming in and out on a regular basis, so it's pretty obvious that this place is getting "known". I wouldn't have expected such goodness in what looks like an abandoned little town (really, we would have never found it without directions), but more fools us! Its in a totally random spot, but its well lit so you know you found the right spot! They have a decent parking lot. Inside there are a few booths and some counter seating. Their menu consists of hot foods (think pizza shop... Hoagies, pizzas, sandwiches, wings etc) and ice cream. They sell soft serve chocolate, vanilla & twist plus Hershey's ice cream with plenty of variety. Bobby ordered a brownie sundae with specialty Hershey's sundae. I ordered a banana split with regular soft serve ice cream. We enjoyed our ice cream and the adorable little shop. Service was friendly & they took debit cards. Very good place for a simple meal, especially Pizzas. The new owner renovated an old and dingy place into a clean, old school looking pizza and ice cream shop with a modern twist. We went there twice so far and will be happy to go back. We tried a few things on the menu: Philly cheesesteak hoagie sandwich: not overly greasy, every bite has a nice mix of meat, onion and grilled peppers. Basic cheese burger: good beefy flavor, though a little greasy. Pork Souvlaki Salad: love the seasonings but the cut of meat they used was extremely chewy, probably will not order it again. Hot wings: nice heat, not too greasy, the blue cheese dressing that comes with them is also very good. Greek Pizza: exceptional! The gyro meat was nicely seasoned, garlic sauce is heaven for garlic lovers, most importantly, the pizza crust is not too thin or thick, crunchy and airy with a chewy center. Will definitely go back to try their other Pizzas. Not a fancy place but if you happened to be in the neighborhood, give this place a try.
