If you are looking for amazing BBQ in the PGH area, look no further. This is it! I stopped here when I was headed back to the city from the airport and had amazing brisket, Mac and cheese, fries, and sweet tea and lemonade. I got an apple cobbler to go (actually saved it for the next day and it was still absolutely delicious). They have at least 8 different types of BBQ sauce here, which was super fun to try them all. There is one for everyone here -- sweet, spicy, mustard-based, etc. I was particular to the smoky one. I wish one of their locations was closer to me, as they all are outside the city center, but I would make the trip to visit again in the future. I will note that because they smoke their own meats on-premises, you probably will walk out of here feeling like you smell a bit like the smoke. read more

Juicy brisket with lovely hospitality! First time trying this restaurant in the West area of Pittsburgh on the way to the airport. I haven't received such a warm welcome anywhere! Everyone here has something kind to say! What a differentiator. I ordered the brisket plate with french fries and everything was delicious. This was my first visit inside Mission BBQ. I've had catering from them but I wanted to try the in person experience. I was very impressed! I arrived around 1140 AM on a gloomy Saturday. Like a good BBQ restaurant you order the BBQ before you sit down. I decided to have the pick three meats (lean brisket, pulled pork, and traditional sausage). I also had a side of fresh cut fries. The meat was very good. I really enjoyed the sausage and brisket.Fries were nice and salty. Three meat meal and fries was $25.00 which I felt was very fair. There are six different sauces and vinegar at each table as well as the essential roll of paper towels. In addition to being very clean, every employee I encountered was extremely friendly. Our favorites are the pulled pork (juicy and best the first day) and brisket (somehow the left overs are even better the next day!) We love the corn bread. They make my absolute favorite potato salad!!!! Come early or they may run out of the potato salad. The kids love the Mac and cheese. The service is impeccable. The staff are unfailingly kind and helpful. On the phone and in person. Again and again. We got a to go pack this time. The company is clearly tinkering with the method of To Go and it's getting better and better. This time everything was packed in foil containers, with plastic lining the top to prevent spillage. There is now a sign indicating where to pick up your Online order. Which is a new thing. It comes with a full bottle of bbq sauce. the military vehicle outside--good photo op. they have many service and military related honors and uniforms displayed inside and sports events playing on the big TVs. they are kindly able to deal with food allergies. You can call it a chain. But this particular restaurant is as good as the NC and famous Memphis BBQ joints I've tried. We love this location! I just had an excellent meal at Mission BBQ in Robinson. I had a wonderful NC style pulled pork sandwich. It had just the right amount of slaw on it and the NC vinegar salute on the table was perfect. The fresh fries were excellent too. Made a pretty big online order to be ready for 6:30 pm on a Saturday.. Arrived at 6:30 and told the cashier we had an order to pick up. She gave us free drinks while we waited. I would just like to say my visit today on 3/7 was the BEST customer service I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The staff was unbelievably welcoming and had an amazing interaction at the register. I will come back to this place over and over again because of the customer service and care from the Robinson staff. 5 stars!! Sadly the reason why I did not put 5 stars was I got the black plate special today of the bbq shrimp and sadly my shrimp were still gray and very undercooked and rubbery BUT I have never experienced an issue before, this was obviously just a mistake. The inside is very casual and comfortable, but we usually get take out. We like it so much we drive over 30 min each way to get it! The staff is always incredibly nice and efficient. Our favorites food wise definitely include the brisket (you can choose moist or lean which is great for those with different preferences), smoked turkey, pulled pork and cheddar sausage. I really like Mission BBQ. I love that they are pro-military and pro-first responder. I have been to one other Mission BBQ (in Florida). I ordered the sampler of 3 meats and 2 sides as. everything was very good. As soon as i ordered and sat down, a bus arrived and about 50 people got in line (I'm thankful i was ahead of that). Yesterday I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of French fries, and it was amazing! The pork is a perfect balance between moist and dry, sometimes pulled pork from other places is either way too dry, or way too moist, but at mission BBQ it's almost always perfect. The French fries were extremely fresh as always, one of my favorite places for French fries! I've tried plenty of things from mission BBQ, and everything I've had is always very solid. The best cue in the area. We are such BBQ fans that we did barbecue road trips from Memphis to Arkansas from Texas to Louisiana (BBQ oysters!) and of course the Carolinas. Dad was veteran as well as his 5 brothers and my aunt so I am delighted to support their Mission. Our only problem is what to order, everything is delicious and we have never had a problem with our orders. Please, please, please open one in the North Hills. A year ago at the Robinson site we were told McCandless Crossing was a good possibility. Last week Cranberry and McKnight Road were likely. Teasing us as we dream of Mission BBQ in the north needs to happen. Maybe Ross Park Mall? Then the Cheesecake Factory would be my second place restaurant after Mission.
