Firstly, they are very knowledgeable about gluten-free diets and have many options. So that was a huge plus. All of the food was incredible. Located on Route 22 in a new plaza that includes Aldi across from Denny's restaurant. The parking is on the small side and can be a little frustrating but it's manageable. We've gotten there 3 times now for their catering service and was impressed each time. The food was hot and fresh each time. Portions were good size. All the meat was cooked great! There choices includes ribs, ( of course ) Pulled pork, chicken, brisket, turkey, sausage, burgers and salmon. There are a wide variety of sauces for every palate. Some mild and some spicy but all the ones I've tried are tasty. The sides were also very good! Mac and cheese and bacon green beans were my favorites but other sides include baked beans, French fries, collard greens, cold slaw and a couple seasonal items. The prices are decent but I was impressed with their commitment to veterans charities. I'll pay more to help those who serve our country! You are welcomed as soon as you come in the door - the staff is so courteous and will give you a sample if you aren't sure what you want. We got my sandwich (which had enough meat on it for two) and a sampler platter with pulled chicken, pulled pork, and brisket - and some baked beans. This was my 2nd visit. Since I am all about the brisket sandwich it's the only item I have tried. I don't remember it costing over 15.00 without any sides so I am not sure how frequent my future visits will be. I would like to try other menu items or check into catering options. My goodness I just love Mission BBQ!! They are warm and welcoming and the place just smells delicious. They are a little pricey in my opinion but I will go there as often as I can afford it. It's just that good. My wife loves the Memphis Belle sauce. It's a sweeter sauce but she says it's best ever for her. I love the brisket, chicken, and turkey! Their Mac n cheese is delicious but does have bread crumbs on top which I love but some might have an issue with and not know will be on it. So be aware. Mission BBQ is a barbecue restaurant chain that has locations in many states. Their mission is to serve those who serve us, particularly military members, police officers, firefighters, and first responders. The restaurant also donates millions of dollars to national and local charitable organizations. This location in Monroeville opened in July 2023, and one of my family members who served in the military for decades wanted to come here. As my family members and I walked into the restaurant, an employee kindly held open the door for us. Inside the restaurant, we saw many tables and booths. My husband walked to the front to order foods and drinks while the rest of us waited at our tables. Here are my reviews for our foods: Brisket - 5 stars - This brisket had a wonderful smokey flavor. Ribs - 5 stars - My family member ate these ribs. He said that these ribs tasted good. The meat was tender and easily came off the bones. Turkey - 5 stars - This sliced turkey was juicy and tasted good. Salmon - 5 stars - This salmon was a good size, it was cooked well, and it had a flavorful seasoning. Cornbread - 5 stars - This cornbread was moist, and I liked that packets of honey were available. Green beans - 4.5 stars - These green beans contained some bacon. Baked beans - 4.5 stars - These baked beans were extremely flavorful. French fries - 5 stars - These fries were freshly cut and fried, and they had a tasty seasoning. Strawberry shortcake - 5 stars - An employee asked my family member about his military service, and then he brought us two free strawberry shortcakes as a thank-you. This dessert consisted of moist cake, a good amount of fresh strawberries, and sweet whipped cream. Coleslaw - ? - My family member ate this coleslaw, and he seemed to enjoy it. The American spirit is alive at Mission BBQ! You walk in and you are greeted right away with a "Welcome to Mission BBQ!"- they did not miss a single customer when they walked through the door. The place is covered with military and first responders memorabilia- patches, pictures, flags etc. and the environment was simply amazing to be there. I saw the Soldier's Creed hanging up at the drinks station and had flashbacks to boot camp. I definitely appreciate the love and support that they show the military and first responders. You walk in and the first thing you see is a giant cooler filled with glass bottles of pop/soda - you could either grab that drink or the refillable cups. My family and I grabbed the refillable ones. There were two registers quickly taking orders and when it was our turn, we were greeted with a smile and friendly service! We ordered: Kid's pulled chicken sandwich with Mac and Cheese, Brisket Sandwich with Cold Slaw, and the Smoked Cheeseburger. Here's a tip - when ordering the brisket you have two choices: Lean or Moist...order Moist! They took my name and I waited for my order We sat down and right there at each table are 6 bottles of sauces, before I could look at them - my name was called and the gentleman asked if it was my first time visiting and I replied yes - he quickly went over the process of smoking meats and the brisket I ordered. I thought that was great interaction with the customer! Brought our food back and wow! That moist brisket sandwich was damn good! I can't remember all the names but mixing KC Classic, Texas Twang, and Tupelo Honey with the brisket sandwich was absolutely mouth watering delicious! I was hoping for more than delivered because we definitely need fast service bbq options locally and i am an experienced bbq lunch spot participant in other cities with successful venues. That said, this was a bit disappointing. Why? While it is fast service and has outdoor seating, it is ala carte pricing, no lunch specials, pricey (15.59 for a pulled pork sandwich, 2 sides, and a soft drink). The amount of meat in the sandwich was plenty and sides quantity and quality were good but the pork was dry even after applying various sauces. Would i come back? Yeah, being it is a bbq option, but not often based on pricing model. Ok, to add.... they serve to give back to the community. Ther staff is all polite and helpful. I was here dining at noon and over the loudspeaker outside was a call to join them in the playing of The National Anthem, played everyday at noon. Everything we had was really good. They have six different types of sauces to try. Service is a bright spot. Everyone was so friendly, nice, and really made you feel welcomed. They were giving out free cake for Veterans Day. As well as free sandwiches for Vets. The style is order at the counter and seat yourself. The place is very much military oriented. I was at an event at my local VA medical facility and they had the day catered by Mission BBQ. I've been in this position before and have found that there can be a difference between food ordered ordered directly and food from large catered trays. I don't attend many catered affairs, so I really wasn't sure what to expect. There was a picnic type cooler on one end stocked with generic bottles of water from a local grocery store. Everything else was better quality. There were 2 large trays of meats; pulled pork and pulled chicken. I started with the mac and cheese and the cole slaw. I followed those with pulled pork on a slider bun. I added some of the pulled chicken on the side. I also treated myself to a small piece of cornbread. I thought the mac and cheese was good, but far from great. It was underseasoned in my opinion and certainly not as cheesy as what I make at home. The cole slaw was about the same quality in terms of flavor. Cole slaw can be great or mediocre. In this case, it was just so so. The dressing had no bite and needed something to amp it up. Even a dash of salt and pepper would have helped. The next items were far better. There were 3 sauces available and I tried 2 of them. The chicken was cooked well and paired nicely with the sweet barbecue sauce. I used the smoky sauce on the pulled pork slider and thought it was better than the chicken. I ate my way through the entire plate and I even considered going back for more. The cornbread was moist and sweet and was a nice finish. The tables were set up in a way that I thought was efficient and the servers were all smiles and happy attitudes. There were enough spaces available for people to find and use personal space without the balancing act that usually comes with little attention to detail. I really didn't see anyone struggling to hold and eat from their plates. Butter was available for the cornbread, but I didn't use any. There were plenty of napkins and the plastic wear was a good quality. My day ended with one of the workers attaching a Mission BBQ bumper sticker to the back of my wheelchair. Overall, while I couldn't say it was exceptional, it was good and made me think I'd like to try the regular menu some time. I would have liked to try some of the other menu items, like baked beans and the green beans. In doing a little research, I've discovered that they feature 10 different sauces and 8 or more different meats. There are a couple of different potato options, like fries and potato salad. It looks as though with everything, you could expect to spend about $20 for a decent lunch. Not cheap but not out of line with today's prices. read more

Ribs were fantastic, seasoned perfectly. The wet brisket was juicy and smoky. The baked beans side with brisket in the beans was really nice. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich. It was good as well. For desert, we shared the caramel bread pudding...freaking delicious! The only negative was that an employee behind the counter was eating. Kinda unprofessional.
