A real gem of a restaurant. I have been here on numerous occasions with parties of various sizes and it has yet to disappoint. It is great to have a place that serves upscale food but isn't stuffy and pretentious. Service is always friendly and efficient. I love that they have a rotating seasonal menu. It is on the higher end price wise, but you get what you pay for. And that means nice portions, quality ingredients and excellent taste. Got a Pinot noir wine and waters Starter=soup of the day: tomato w/ chickpea and chorizo- bold tomato flavor and lots of arugula in it. Not so much chorio but flavor was very good, not overly salty. 10/10 After the soup we put our nit-picking goggles on as we knew this was a pretty sophisticated meal. Daily special- pan seared mahi mahi with asparagus fennel kohlabi and arugula salad citrus buerre Blanc. Light citrus flavor is found thru the mahi mahi, its sauce and the salad. Very congruent. Asparagus was a neutral addition. Not flowing with or against the mahi. Fish was cooked well. Just lots of raw red onion on the salad was a little overpowering. 7/10 Red wine braised short rib- didn't ask how well done, so seems chefs choice. We have a preference towards med rare. This was cooked well done making it a tad tough-stringy. Mashed potatoes with some larger pieces of potato, but very neutral plain flavor, great with the beef sauce. Carrots cooked well, just neutral, natural flavor. Overall a very classic flavor combo that works.7/10. Would stop by again to try more dishes. Ps- when paying we noticed final bill to sign was more than first bill at table. When we asked why the difference we were told it's the credit card fee of $3. Went out with some friends and really enjoyed our dinner. Make sure to make reservations not a free table in the place. We were seated quickly and we tried the old fashions. We asked for light on the simple syrup so not too sweet. We order beet salads and the gnocchi starters. The salad just regular beet and lettuce nothing to write home about. But the Ricotta Gnocchi is dangerously delicious. Also heads up it is very rich. Dinner consisted of the Shrimp Risotto not really a table favorite. The mussels and pasta got very positive mmmms. But the Bolognese again was delicious and rich. Dessert was a yummy tiramisu and crème brûle (wish it was bigger) both were scrumptious. The restaurant is a surprisingly well decorated inside and very comfortable and even when fully packed we were able to have a conversation without talking over the noise. Lovely grounds. It's my second time here and both times have been great. I enjoyed their ricotta gnocchi which is a lighter version in bechamel sauce. Think of an upscale macaroni and cheese made with ricotta gnocchi. My main dish was the beet salad with a New York steak and it was tender and flavorful. They have a nice list of wines by the glass. Tonight while I'm in town visiting my in laws I got to enjoy a dinner here! Our server Liz was amazing! She knew the specials and was very attentive to us! Eighty acres has amazing cocktails. I also had an espresso martini I forgot to take a picture of and it was delicious! The only thing I didn't care for was the sauce with the sweet potato fries. It wasn't really needed as they are amazing in their own. They were busy but our food came out hot and fast. Our server John was so kind and attentive. My husband and I came here a few weeks ago and we had a phenomenal dinner here. My husband had their steak gyro and I had a scallop special that they were featuring. The place is so cozy and the staff were great. I really love that they support local farms. I am obsessed with that, and I recognized some of the featured farms from a farmers market I visit often. Not to sound like too much of a snob, but this place is worth leaving the city limits for! Unassuming location, amazing food. Went out here with a group of women and everybody's food looked fabulous. I ordered the roasted duck breast and sampled some of the gnocchi starter. The gnocchi in particular was exceptional and next time, I'll definitely get a full order for myself! The other standout here was my rosemary habanero cocktail. Recommended by my very friendly and helpful server. Came here with my boyfriend after visiting my cousin at UPMC East. We both ordered the Logan Family Farm steak burger-his with regular fries and mine with the sweet potato fries. I liked the sweet potato fries better. The burger was quite delicious. My boyfriend's burger was a little charred but our server unbeknownst to us took it off our bill which was super sweet and amazing service. She was very attentive. I had one of their whiskey cocktails and it was great. I can't wait to come back here and try more things. The restaurant and bar area is lovely and it looks like there is a nice outdoor area for the summer time. read more

Soooooo, called ahead because it's New Year's Eve to see if they're open and still seating folks. Young lady was very pleasant on the phone and welcoming and told us yes they were open and that they were still seating tables. In the snow we head that way. We arrive (literally 14 mins from placing the call) only to be told that now the restaurant is full and that they would not be able to seat us until after 8:30 because they are "double booked" (mind you, it's 6:15, I can see three tables open and no one is waiting to be seated). I can speculate as to the sudden change, however will simply post this review and never return. read more

Stumbled upon this hidden gem when looking for a birthday dinner location! Service was excellent! The Eighty Acres salad was the best salad I've ever enjoyed at a restaurant (I literally bought a pint of the dressing so I could rebuild it at home). My friend raved over the Brussels sprouts and we were all in love with the portion sizes. Mocktails and mixed drinks both did not disappoint and the main attractions were quite good, shrimp risotto (4/5), the ribeye (5/5), braised short rib (5/5). Only disappointment was the Mac n cheese (3/5) but the way that crème brûlée (5/5) came in at the end ... let's just say, we were willing to forgive. Absolutely will be back! read more

I was looking fora new restaurant to try in the area, and this one has been coming up in recent reviews so I thought I'd give it a try! The decor of the restaurant is classy and fits the farm to table theme! Our waitress wasn't super patient with us when asking questions about the menu, but rhe service was OK overall. She seemed to come around as the dinner proceeded. For my dinner, I had a Caesar salad, which was bland and under dressed. I was surprised to find out that they didn't carry ranch in the restaurant at all either. I know that some chefs feel as though ranch shouldn't be served at a high class restaurant, but a good homemade ranch can go a long way! For my main meal, I ordered the crab cake sandwich. I really loved the pepper slaw and other accoutrements on the sandwich that paired so perfectly well with the crab cake. I completely devoured it! Overall, this restaurant is delicious and different. The service could use some work, and it's a bit pricey for the area and the food being served. I definitely will eat here again, but I'm not sure it's making it to the top of my restaurant list! read more

We sat in at the bar, which is in the same area of the dining room which I liked, had a good energy. Food was absolutely amazing. All the dishes we ordered (see attached images and description) were made to perfection. You can tell this food is crafted, not just prepped. Our server was awesome and got our order just right. What a great find. We were in the general area looking for a place to grab a quick bite. Pulled up Yelp and Eighty Acres Kitchen came up on top even though it wasn't that close by. Glad we made the effort. Walked in around 5:30 on a Friday night and grabbed the last 2 seats at the bar. We didn't have a lot of time but we were happy to be a few minutes late for our next obligation. We had the mussels, the wedge and pappardelle bolognese. All three were home runs. This place has been on my radar for a while now. I got the chance to visit on a Wednesday evening since it was a "halfway " point for 5 friends gathering from Pittsburgh and points East. It was easy to find for all of us, just off of Route 286 in Plum. The parking lot is large and the outside is tastefully painted white with black accents. Inside we were greeted and seated in the main dining room with a view to the bar and the patio. The menu was tempting, both in food and cocktails which made it hard to choose. I settled on the blood orange cosmopolitan after asking the waitress' opinion. She said it was very popular and for good reason! It was delicious and it had a nice kick. Friends chose the pineapple Margarita and the summer sangria for their cocktails. I ordered the soup of the day, a chicken potato leek soup. It was ok, not what I was expecting. Not much leek flavor, and I wouldn't order it again. My entree though was very good. The sesame crusted tuna salad was delicious. My friends had the roasted beet salad, one added salmon and the other added chicken. Both raved about it. Others who had the chicken salad sandwich and the smoked pork also enjoyed their meals. This was a good experience overall, and I liked the fact that they are trying to do farm to table. Our waitress was nice and efficient, although not overly friendly. One thing to be careful about when leaving the parking lot....use the lower exit because there's a blind curve above the upper exit and cars fly around that curve fairly fast. read more

I've been here a few times before, but this is my first review. I would say this is one of the best places to eat in the monroeville/murrysville area. We started with their gnocchi appetizer, which has perfectly fluffy gnocchi and a béchamel type sauce. I would have preferred a different sauce but this is a great dish regardless. This time we ordered the crab cakes and the seafood pasta for entrees. They have really amazing crab cakes and is probably my favorite dish they have! There is no filler and you can see the large pieces of crab. The seafood pasta came with a ton of shrimp, muscles, and clams. My only complaint would be how thin the sauce is because towards the end of the dish it was more like a soup than a pasta. Overall, this is a great restaurant and I highly recommend trying it! read more

Nice atmosphere, lower lighting with warm glow from wreaths and tree. Service was attentive but not rushed adapting to our pace enjoying drinks and appetizers before ordering. Wine by the glass was a little pricey but they didn't skimp on the pours. Shrimp risotto was perfectly cooked, shrimp was tender, rice had a nice bite, paired well with mushroom, peas and tomato. Had a really lovely meal here last Friday evening with friends. The chef's wife was hostessing and she greeted us and chatted a bit. Started with wine and cocktails. Husband said the Classic Old Fashioned was top notch. We enjoyed the house Pinot noir. We ordered the burrata and flatbread and I thought the flatbread was outstanding-garlicky and fresh. For dinner, I had the roasted beet salad with goat cheese which is very good. Then I went for the shrimp and mushroom risotto special. Everything was on point, tasty and well presented. We went here with a short notice reservation for a celebratory dinner with family. We arrived at the large parking lot behind the BK (don't turn too soon) and found a place to park. We arrived about 15 minutes ahead of our reservation and were seated immediately. There was a wide variety of choices for adults and kids. Here's a summary of the very cost-friendly menu. Rosemary Habanero Smash - This was the winning cocktail for sure. Well balanced, sweet and spicy. Excellent Cocktail Beetroot - This wasn't my favorite, but I'm not a fan of beets. If you like beets, then you may think differently Marinated Olives - I love Olives and this was a nice sized dish for the price. Some had pits and some didn't. I don't mind but some people do, so that just meant more for me! Coyote Queso - Melted Fontina, Chorizo, and Roasted Poblanos with some thin crispy flatbreads to scoop it onto (was hard to dip). I don't think this is what coyotes eat, but they really should start as it was delicious. Crispy Brussel Sprouts - They were crispy and flavorful and the teenage girl ate almost all of them. I'm guessing there's a Tic Toc about brussel sprouts because it's unexplainable how much she loves these things. Kids Burger - It wasn't on the menu but they made a burger and fries for the younger one. He thought it was good. Ricotta Gnocchi - These were light and fluffy pillows of pasta goodness and the cheddar cheese bechamel and bacon (upcharge) made it like a gourmet version of Bob Evans Bacon Mac N Cheese. Halibut - This was a special for the evening and there was a nice sized portion of fish and a pond of lobster bisque sauce for slathering on the fish, potatoes, veggies and spaghetti squash. Bolognese - This was the deal of the night at $18. Excellent Pasta (fresh homemade I think) and richly flavored meaty sauce. I've easily spent double for the similar size and quantity. Filet Mignon - This was another special for the day. The potato wedges were large and crispy if that's your thing. The steak itself was overcooked by almost 2 levels which really isn't acceptable. They made it right by cooking another one to the correct temperature. Creme Brulee' - The crispy sugar on top of one of the lightest and fluffiest creme I've had in this dish. Very good. Very good restaurant and not too far from the Monroeville area if you're looking for something different and nice. I would go back for sure. read more

It was a dreary rainy Friday night and we were outside planting some flowers on my folks graves in nearby Plum Creek Cemetery. We were soaked and cold and some hot delicious dinner was in order. This place was on our "try some day" list so we placed an order for two Bolognese to go. The meals were packaged nicely with the ricotta in a small cup separate from the pasta dish. The price was decent at $18 each. The tagliatelle pasta was tender and absolutely delicious. The Bolognese sauce was good but sort of one note. It needed something to brighten it up a little or perhaps some salt or pepper. We aren't big salt eaters but this had very little of it, even for us. We really enjoyed having a nice warm meal and would like to try this place again after the Pandemic protections lift more fully. The interior of the restaurant looked so inviting. Hopefully, we can return to try some other dishes. read more

I think the food was overpriced for what it was but nothing was stale, it seemed pretty alright. Our server Missy was attentive and nice with us. I'm giving it 3 stars mainly because I'm a huge room without trying to eavesdrop I heard a server talking incessantly about how tables were crazy tonight. Everyone has hard days and I'm SURE working in a service job can be rough but I don't think you should be talking about it so everyone can hear you. It kind of ruined it for me. I don't know, it's not a very welcoming feeling if you think people are going to talk badly about you. It sort of looks like an old Kings building. The bar is huge, the flowers were beautiful. I don't really get the name, I was sort of expecting it to be close to a big piece of sprawling property instead it's behind a Burger King. We had to pour our own water. read more

Be confident that everything is great! My wife's fav is the chicken Milanese salad. Mine is whatever their fish of the day is! Salads and vegetables delicioso'! Service is excellent. They even have a maitre'D. He's very professional. Owner/Chef is always on site. - He knows his stuff! His wife is nice as well. Just be careful pulling in and out of the parking lot. I actually recommend, if you have the clearance, to go in the "out" and out the "in", although you want to make sure no cars are approaching when you do that. Ambience is nice. Bathrooms have been remodeled. It's always clean and well-maintained and the outside seating is very nice weather permitting! read more

Nice casual place with a friendly staff and customers. The menu is a little more upscale contemporary and innovative American. We stopped at the bar for a drink and decided to stay there due to the great bartender and some of the other customers near us. There were a few empty tables. This is the type of place I could stop by once in a while and have a drink and some some of the snacks or dinner at the bar. The Braised Wild Boar on house made ricotta gnocchi was a good choice. It had some spice flavor from some dried chiles but some sweetness too. Some of the desert looked great but was to full to indulge. Sorry EAK&B is not in my neighborhood. read more
