Stopped by a nearby store and wanted to give the restaurant a try. The staff were very friendly from the start. I had a Knob Hill Old Fashioned to start. If you saw my previous review for the same drink at a different restaurant, the staff at that restaurant should come here to learn how to make an Old Fashioned. It was that good here. I had the cheddar burger with fries. The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection. The hand cut fries are also very good. My girlfriend has the short ribs and really enjoyed them. Had the Duroc pork chop. Gave me a knife that was super dull. At first I thought it was tough meat. No dull knife. Ordered it medium it was ok not as moist as I've had elsewhere. Vegetable of the day was an eggplant parm. It was super dry. Prepared without sauce but bread crumbs and cheese baked. Really dry. My date had the short ribs with succotash. Surprised the Succotash was really good because it isn't something she would normally eat. The short ribs were tender but dry. Service was fine. Ambiance nice. Enjoyed our dinner here on a Sunday evening. We ordered the cornbread to share and it came with butter and honey on the side and was delicious. Three of the four in my party ordered the skirt steak which was by all accounts, perfect. It was tender, tasty and served with a chipotle mayo sauce. I opted for the shrimp tacos which were presented beautifully. The tacos were very good. My issue was that they were so overloaded, that I made a mess while trying to eat them. Easily my favorite restaurant in Murrysville. Service here is always incredible, Madison is the best waitress! She is so attentive, kind, and warm providing personalized attention to every table. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but the cornbread skillet for an app is a must try. Any of the tacos or salads are always a go to for entree selection. Went for their Oktoberfest menu which is a spin off from their former shadow of a sister restaurant chain Atrias,who used to have similar Oktoberfest offerings, before closing their doors (apart from the Peter's Twp location). Was served by Scott who was very professional and courteous. My wife had the Rheinischer Sauerbraten which is large chunks of delicious fork tender braised beef in sweet and sour gravy and red cabbage and mash. I had the crispy pork shank which was great value and was Flintstone sized and cooked beautifully and not salty as I had an experienced a few times dining at Atrias in the past. Recommend getting there early, especially on the weekends, if you want to try the pork shank, as when with Atrias, it sold out quite often. I plan on going back for more of the same before the Oktoberfest offerings end. read more

Great service and the waiters were helpful when I asked about the salmon or roast! I ended up getting the roast and loved it! Moist, tender, and flavorful! The side was a bit bland since there was just butter, but you could swap it out! I have gone to Juniper multiple times and always had great service. We stopped in for dinner before a show in Pittsburgh and were happy with both the food and the service. My husband had the shrimp and crab enchiladas. They were loaded with shrimp and real crab, not sea legs. I wasn't that hungry so I chose the Juniper house salad. It was mixed greens with bacon bits, cherry tomatoes, red onions, jicama slivers and corn bread croutons which made it different from other standard house salads. It was filling even without adding an additional protein. I also had the Juniper wheat ale on tap. At 7.3% ABV, it gave me an immediate buzz! Our server was nice and efficient. Water glasses filled often and he came to offer dessert which we split, a key lime pie. In an unusual round shape, it tasted homemade. It was very good. The decor is dark but feels comfortable. We sat inside with the A/C but you could also dine outside if you chose. This gem of a restaurant is conveniently located in a plaza just off the main highway that cuts thru Murrysville. The food, service, and ambiance here are all simply put, fabulous. As soon as you enter, you're greeted by the hostesses, and taken to your table. I've never seen a waiter or waitress here that is less than near perfect. They're all incredibly kind and friendly. (Shout out to out most recent server, Mia! She's fabulous!) Let's get into the food. It's all delicious, period. My go to here are the fish tacos. They are the best fish tacos I've ever had, and they're served with a side of beans and rice which are pretty darn good. One of the best restaurants in the Monroeville/ Murrysville area! Right now they have a deal that with a Yelp check in you can get either the street tacos or dip appetizer. We got the street tacos and really enjoyed them. All the food we've had here is delicious. Some items on the menu are pricier- (like the filet) but you are paying for the quality you get. I enjoyed the brisket and ribs. The ribs have multiple layers of flavor- I don't know how they do it but it's mouth-wateringly delicious. The taco soup was also really good! Lots of delectable desserts. It was hard to choose one, but we got the triple chocolate cake. It's a classy atmosphere. You may want to dress up a bit. Service is excellent. I rarely write reviews. We have been going to the Murrysville location for years. Just got back from there tonight. It is a very nice space with very good food and very good service. I have recommended it and still would. But they stopped carrying their Drunken Beans and Rice side dish. This was always a favorite of ours and we got it every time we went. I am sorely disappointed. We had a great experience. Marcus was extremely attentive and willing to check on food allergy concerns for our party. Juniper Grill is super gluten sensitive/celiac aware and uses a separate fryer for their home cut French fries. Roughly half the menu is either gluten free or can be prepared gluten free. Three of us had cheese burgers which were great on gluten free buns. Our fourth party member had the chicken enchiladas and loved them. The Juniper Grill has an upscale ambiance and is great for date nights and celebrations or just a great lunch. We will be back again and again. Awesome service. read more

The mark of a good restaurant isn't necessarily its size, but the quality/presentation of the food and the magnanimity of the staff. I feel confident in stating, this place delivered just that. I have dined at Juniper Grill on numerous occasions, including their wine dinners and for a private plated dinner party. My family and I have enjoyed a variety of menu items including the Ahi Tuna, Shrimp & Crab Enchilada, Filet Mignon, Salmon and their Ribs. All fantastic!! Lindsey, a manager at their restaurant, had gone above and beyond with helping me set up a private dinner party. Her mannerism was professional while also having the ability to make me feel comfortable and completely stress free with the planning. It's quite refreshing to come across such good service anymore. To end my meal, I enjoyed a couple beverages at the bar. (Glenda and Jordan make the BEST cocktails!) I highly recommend the Mango Habanero Whisky Sour, even the presentation is to die for! I've only been to juniper grill about 3 times but every time has been splendid! The food never disappoints, and they have nice portion sizes as well! The service is kind and professional. It has a more elegant feel to the dining space which makes it nice for more special occasions or date nights! I look forward to trying more meals from their menu. Randomly stopped in with the husband for lunch on Sunday. We felt a little undressed but were treated no differently. The ambience, the service, the food..amazing. We started with an order of the dip duo with salsa and queso. The chips were salted which is a small addition I love. The kitchen is completely open and the staff was very kind and professional. My husband ordered a side Caesar salad that came out in a chillingly cold bowl. I ordered the mahi sandwich which was served on a delicious ciabatta bread and subbed the fries for mashed potatoes. The potatoes were butter and lightly lumpy. My husband had the beef brisket sandwich and loved it. In the photos is also the adorable presentation of their hot tea. I have yet to have a bad experience at this location. It's always so good every time, and never fails to impress me. The food is 5 and the drinks are too. I will say that the service never ceases to be great. Which I very much appreciate. The ambiance is what you'd expect for a little nicer of a chain restaurant. But I don't feel like this place gives off super chain vibes. It's homey! It's not on the cheap side but also not super pricey either. I really like the vibe at Juniper. It is a nice place. Well laid out and with nice decor. The staff seem to be pleasant. Some of these people I've known for years. My old friend, Mike, is no longer managing it, but it still a good place! All that said, my only concern is the steak. I ordered the 14oz. NY strip, medium well. It is a really nice piece of meat. It's high quality. So why in the world would you put cheese on it??? Omg...it almost ruined it. I could only eat a fraction of it at the restaurant because of all the gorgonzola cheese. Two days later, I scraped off that gross and unnecessary gorgonzola cheese. Placed it in the oven at 500° for 15 minutes (it was a bit underdone as well), plated it, added sea salt, and it was so tender and delicious! I just smiled! Actually, I don't think my cut was supposed to have the cheese on it. It's supposed to be only the filet. I think it was an error. All that said, to Juniper, please cut the cheese. Stopped in here for the first time a few weeks prior to this visit. We had a Togo order and while I was in picking it up I notice an awesome looking chicken dish they were serving. We decided to come back in and eat inside. Pretty sure when we originally seen this on Google it said carryout only ... But they were serving inside and outside. The food was great, only surpassed by the service from Carrie. They smoke all of their meats. The first time here we had fish tacos and Ahi Tuna Salad. The fresh Ahi Tuna portion was huge and really good The fish Taco were good too. This time we had the Chicken dinner and the Salmon. Both of these are smoked. The chicken was REALLY good and moist and tasteful. The salmon was good but not the best thing we have eaten here. We'll be back soon! read more

Came here with a friend on a Tuesday night, and wow were they busy for a Tuesday! We both ordered the California Burger with Hand-Cut Fries. The burger was stacked! I ordered medium rare, and the patty was cooked perfectly. The guacamole was a nice fresh contrast to the heaviness of the burger, which had plenty of bacon. It was sooo good -- I couldn't finish it though! I got the fries as my side and had ketchup and ranch. The. Fries. Were. AMAZING. They are thick but crispy and super potato-ey. I couldn't stop eating them, which is probably why I couldn't finish my burger. When the bill comes, you have the option of contactless payment through an app you can download. Came here with friends on a weeknight for dinner... we didn't have reservations, but that seemed OK, as we ad no wait, but they were pretty packed. (So, make reservations) Upon walking in and seeing bottles of Penfolds, I assumed this would be a great "Foodie" joint, but was ultimately disappointed in feeling that way, they definitely didn't live up to that notion in any way. The menu is interesting... a mix of wood smoked/grilled items with basic stuff. Nothing really creative or interesting tho. I opted for their half chicken, which is done on a spit in the wood fire... turns out, it's just a basic, flavorless rotisserie chicken, with no smokey flavor and very little, if any spices to it. Their au jus was decent for the mashed potatoes tho. Other items I saw coming out looked very basic and plating is definitely not their strong suit. Service was ok, nothing special there as well.
