Elrama Tavern - A Legendary Comeback Worth Celebrating Elrama Tavern has always been one of those hidden gems--years ago, it might not have looked like much from the outside, but those of us who knew it understood: the food was absolutely amazing, and the drinks were just as impressive. It quickly became a go-to spot for us, the kind of place you return to again and again because it never lets you down. Unfortunately, like many longtime fans, I remember the heartbreak when the tavern burned down over two years ago. It was a sad day, not just because of the building, but because we lost a local treasure filled with memories and good times. But here's the good news: Elrama Tavern is back--and better than ever. They've rebuilt from the ashes, and the new space looks incredible. You can feel the love, resilience, and pride that went into bringing this place back to life. This was my first time grabbing food from here in years, and even though it was just a pickup order, it felt like a homecoming. I snapped a few photos, chatted with the friendly woman at the counter, and was told that the downstairs dining area is absolutely stunning--something I can't wait to experience firsthand when we return for lunch soon. I'm beyond happy for the team at Elrama Tavern. They've come full circle, and we're lucky to have them back in the community. Can't wait to sit down next time and enjoy the full experience all over again. Welcome back, Elrama--you were missed, and you came back strong.

Saw on the news yesterday that the grand reopening was today. Glad we were in the area. Place looks great. Everything was clean and up to date. Staff were busy, but kind and helpful. There were several families, couples and singles seated all over. Bar area was full except for 2 seats so we decided to set there. Mattie was our hostess and bartender. She was excellent. Came to find out as we were leaving that she's the daughter of the owner. We couldn't tell, her service was exceptional. Zucchini appetizer was very flavorful. Onion soup was very good. My steak sandwich was excellent, not too much bread. Steady stream of customers... a great find just off the beaten path... Enjoy!!!

Not a good place, food is awful and the place is really small. Just take yourself or family to Applebees.

Food was great, service was good and the ambiance was wonderful. Our server, he was a little slow and forgetful.

There's no signage outside for applewood so I consider it an almost burger speakeasy! The service here is pretty fast - we ordered a little after 5pm on a Sunday and got our food and finished it all before 6pm! The burgers we got were so flavorful and delicious and we were are blown away by this hidden gem!! My applewood burger was incredible and the maple sauce was delightful. I'm so glad we discovered this place and I would go back!!

November 2025: lightly edited realtime notes:…read more - This is like a pop-up restaurant that is inside of a bar. - Buffalo wings, Nashville hot wings. The wings are cooked perfectly. The sauce is weak. The fact that the wings are crispy and fried and 100% dead-on makes up for the weak sauce. All things considered, 4.2. Could be 4.6 to 4.8 with decent sauce. In retrospect, having tasted the sauce as a side (below) I think they tossed the wings in the sauce when they were too hot, kind of denatured things, and got too much oil in it. The sauce is actually very good, and these wings could have been a notch or two better if they had let them cool for just a hot second before tossing them. These wings have the potential to be some of the very best in the city. - Onion rings here are just absolutely perfect. Think of the best a Burger King onion ring could be, and these are four notches up from that. - The french fries are OK. - The side of buffalo sauce that they brought us from the kitchen is so much better than how the wings came out; I am presuming that the wings were tossed in the sauce too hot, and not enough. These guys actually have a great buffalo sauce. - I got the Smashburger. Cheese, lettuce, pickles and their special sauce. No substitutions permitted. This burger is excellent and exactly what I wanted. 10 of 10, would totally order again. - One of our group got the signature applewood burger."It's delicious!" - Another got the farmhouse burger and seems to be completely tickled with it. "It's really good. How can you go wrong with bacon and egg on a burger?" Unfortunately, restaurant was out of the cheese sauce tonight. We observed that the cheese sauce would've made it "fire." - J got the Cajun burger. "Awesome. Very good!" He wishes he would've asked them to add bacon to it.

Love the decor in the shop. There were many prepared food options in the fridge, as well as various cuts of meat/preparations of it. We got two sandwiches, the cheesesteak and the marbella. I dont think we ended up with the correct order because we didn't end up with a cheesesteak, but did not realize until we got home. I'm positive that if I went back to the shop they would've remedied the situation, but I didn't feel it was necessary! The sandwich we did end up with was good as well, unsure which one it was though. Very fair prices, and our dog was so happy we brought him home a bone as well! Looking forward to coming back and trying everything they have to offer.

The business practices whole-animal, nose-to-tail butchery that respects the animals. Even bones and fat are used. My husband and I shopped here one time. On a Saturday afternoon, we drove around the neighborhood for 30 minutes before we found a paid parking spot. Other customers were inside the store, but the employees in the store served us promptly and politely. We saw cuts of beef, pork, lamb, and poultry as well as sandwiches, soups, spices, maple syrup, etcetera. We did not see as many unique meats as larger butcher shops sell. Prices were OK. We bought beef skewers and cooked them at home. We thought that the quality of the meat could have been better, but we liked the juiciness and flavors.
