This was my first time at Andora, but it won't be my last. My wife and I had dinner on a Thursday after making reservations online. It's a good thing we did, because this is a busy place, and with the cold weather this week the patio was closed, reducing their seating capacity quite a bit. Anyway, were seated quickly, and our waiter was fast and efficient. The bread and dipping oil were a nice start, and then we ordered a couple of apps. The watermelon with feta was very nice, as was the lump crab cake. For mains my wife had the sea bass of the regular menu, and I had the parrot fish special. Both were really fantastic and well presented. I also noted that the fish portion sizes were very generous - something you don't see at most other area seafood restaurants. Both were fresh and quite tasty. Since everything else had been so good, we went ahead and ordered desert. My wife went with the chocolate mouse cake, and I had the limoncello cake. Again, both were fantastic. Two apps, two mains, two deserts, two glasses of wine, and one bar cocktail came to just under $200 before tip. Considering the quality and experience, I think that is more than fair. The only negatives that I can mention were that the seating was a bit tight and crowded, and the room we were in was subject to a lot of noise from the kitchen. Made reservations 30 minutes in advance. Short distance from airport and North Hills. Started with yeasty white bread with dipping oil. We could have eaten the dipping oil with a spoon. The green tomatoes were a very good choice for the caprese salad. The cod was breaded with panko, with a dollop of horseradish sauce, well cooked rice, and (tree trunk) asparagus. Would order again. The steak salad was steak not chipped meat. Cooked to order. Nice array of spring greens. Would order again. At the recommendation of our waiter, we ordered chocolate mousse and lemoncello cakes. Andora is always a safe choice when deciding where to eat, whether it is for lunch or dinner. This time, I went for lunch and ordered the Calamari for the appetizer and the Ahi Tuna for my main dish. The Calamari was warm and crispy and the Thai Chili Sauce pairs perfectly. We even had left over calamari to take home. The Ahi Tuna was cooked perfectly and the wasabi and eel sauce tasted fantastic together. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu and it was phenomenal. It was light and fluffy but full of flavor. The chocolate and caramel sauce, as well as the whipped cream, complemented it well. The service is always fantastic and they are very accommodating. The restaurant is super clean, but some tables can feel very close to others. Overall, we will continue to dine at Andora!! read more

Andora on Mt. Nebo Road in Sewickley is an absolute find! This charming spot serves up lunch and dinner with a delicious selection of New American entrees, wine, and craft cocktails--all in a stylish, cozy space complete with a fireplace, a spacious bar, and the most magical outdoor patio (think twinkle lights and a fountain... yes, please!). I went for dinner with a friend--such a great girls' night or date night destination! To drink, we enjoyed wine and a strawberry bellini made with fresh strawberry purée and prosecco. Their cocktail menu is perfection. We started with the three-cheese stuffed zucchini ribbons in a sweet red pepper cream sauce, and wow--the best zucchini dish I've ever had. We also shared the jumbo lump crab cake, lightly baked and served with a red onion caper sauce--super fresh and full of flavor. Next, we split the house salad, a refreshing mix of greens, cucumbers, tomatoes, black olives, feta, roasted red peppers, and their homemade Andora dressing (who doesn't love a homemade dressing?!). For our entrees, we tried the braised BBQ short rib--topped with crispy onion straws and served with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes--yum! The Andora Chicken was another standout: tomatoes, artichokes, capers, banana peppers, asparagus, and seven-pepper risotto. It was full of flavor and totally hit the spot. A group of us went to Andora based on someone's recommendation. I ordered 2 appetizers as my meal, dynamite shrimp and zucchini ribbons. The dynamite shrimp was described as being crispy with a spicy Asian sauce. The sauce was a mild aioli with about as much Asian character as rural Iowa. The shrimp seemed like they were taken from a bag of frozen breaded shrimp. The zucchini seemed like a good idea in theory, but in practice it was a bland stuffing wrapped in zucchini ribbons (accurate description) with some cheese and a red pepper sauce. The sauce tasted like red bell pepper without much in the way of seasoning. I got 4 wraps, but another order came out with 5. Was I shorted or did they get a bonus? We'll never know, but once I started eating, I wasn't disappointed. Bottom line, the food was forgettable. Why 2 stars instead of 1? The wait staff were great! They were helpful and attentive; they get 5*, but we go out to eat for the food. read more

Andora restaurant offers dining in, takeout, and catering. Its menus list foods such as shrimp bisque, sandwiches, calamari, linguini, salmon, and short rib. The restaurant emailed me a coupon for a free appetizer. On the day of the reservation, a seating hostess promptly seated us. Our waitress, too, provided timely and courteous service. Here are my husband's and my ratings for our foods: Bread - 4 stars - This bread was free, and it came with olive oil. It was fresh and tasted good. Dynamite shrimp - 4.5 stars - My husband said that this appetizer was his favorite food here. A large number of fried shrimps were coated in a slightly spicy sauce. Soup of the day - 4 stars - The soup was cream of mushroom. I received a large cup of it, and I liked it. Jumbo lump crab cake dinner - 4.5 stars - This entree contained one large crab cake that was very meaty and flavorful (5 stars). On the side was asparagus (4.5 stars) and rice (4 stars). Filet mignon - 4.5 stars - The chef cooked this steak as my husband had requested. He enjoyed the sides of mashed potatoes and green beans. The menu for dessert included cheesecake, brownie, and creme brûlée, but we did not order dessert. Other important information: The dress code appears to be smart-casual. My longtime friend and I had a lovely meal tonight at Andora. It was my 4th or 5th visit there, and my friend's first experience. Both the Lump Crab Cake and Andora Chicken and their accompaniments were superb. Our waitress, Leo (Lea?), was very friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Andora's decor is average, and the restaurant can become loud when at capacity. I'd suggest avoiding their peak hours if you want to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere. Although their wait staff is likeable, the owners tend to be on the impersonal side. Regardless, the quality of the food will keep me coming back. read more

Ordered take out, one meal was the horseradish cod, the piece of fish was so small you would have through it came off the kids menu plus it was extremely bland. The stuffed zucchini ribbons looked like they were run over by a car and had a very odd flavor. The kids chicken fingers were so burnt we had to throw them away. My wife did enjoy the spinach salad but a few of the things that were supposed to come on it didn't exist. We came for Mothers Day Lunch and seating outside for our 1pm reservation. The outdoor space is very nice. The service and food was fine at best. Our waitress seemed bothered most of the time. She was attentive but alway rushing to answer questions. You almost didn't want to bother her. The food was okay for the price. I personally ordered the stuffed peppers for the table, horseradish crushed fish which was supposed to come with Mashed potatoes but we were informed they were out of mashed potatoes. How?! The Mother's Day menu was a special menu and you were out of potatoes at 1pm? Terrible planning! I was offered rice pilaf or risotto. The risotto was hardly warm and had a pink tint to it. Out of the 6 of us one of the entrees came out wrong. Why was it ever brought out if you looked at what you wrote down and it was wrong? So then we had someone waiting for the correct dish which came out looking dry. This was my first time at Andora and the last. Popular white-table-cloth restaurant in the Sewickley area. 4 couples ate lunch after church one Sunday. Half of us got the crab cake salad, the other half ordered the salmon salad, and the odd man out managed to eat an entire burger and most of his fries. (I helped--they were good!) Staff are friendly and helpful, and prices are reasonable for the food and atmosphere (~$65 for burger, salad, a glass of unobjectionable pinot grigio, and a tip). My first stop here on a very cold January night. I had heard about a Restaurant Week Lamb special so we decided to try it out and boy am I glad we did! The service was expert level. Ambiance is great, we were seated near a gas fireplace which was amazing in the middle of a cold winter. My dining partner had the lamb chop special for restaurant week and I went with the Kona Crusted Pork off the regular menu. Both were perfect. Absolutely perfect! Andora produced a Fine Dining experience for us at a very reasonable price. We will be back and you should try it too if you haven't already! read more

First visit and definitely not my last. The food was great and service attentive. Went for lunch and even though didn't seem super busy, it took awhile to have our food brought out. We sat outside and was a beautiful outdoors area, I'd highly recommend if the weather is nice. Prices are reasonable and good value for your money. Got the filet salad and was tasty. Went here with my MIL on Friday night. Service was excellent! The food was not... I've been going to this restaurant for years and the food has gone WAY downhill. Not the Fine Dining establishment it used to be. My MIL got the Lobster Ravioli - it was swimming in so much sauce, that we could not even see the Ravioli in the shallow bowl. I tasted it and it was very bland. My husband ordered the BBQ Short Ribs. The green beans were barely cooked, and he likes them al dente - but they were more raw than al dente - he did not eat them. The garlic mashed potatoes were so dry they literally were crumbling apart - not nice and creamy. the short rib itself was very good. I had the Braised Beef and Mushroom Pasta - very good, but certainly not worth the $34 price tag... Not sure we will return. Food not worth the price. read more

Absolutely the worst place to eat if you want to have a relaxing meal with friends and family. The acoustics are horrible and they stuff people like cattle to the point where you cannot hear the people even at your own table. Arrived around 7 pm on Fathers' Day. Not crowded. The service was pleasant. Ate outside- nice setting despite the gray day. The warm bread and olive oil dip were excellent. We ordered 2 appetizers: the fried shrimp which was a generous proportion and flavorful and zucchini Rolls which were a great disappointment ( I was told by a friend to try these). The zucchini rolls were cold and not very flavorful despite appearing previously baked. You would think since there was much cheese they would be very hot, but they were disappointingly cold. when we mentioned to the server she said she would bring freshly made ones but brought ones that were again previously baked and barely warm (again a big disappointment- same complaint). For meals we ordered crabcakes and the chicken dish. The dishes were tasty but nothing extraordinary and for $25 crabcakes, we expected more. The server was pleasant, but seemed a bit removed, perhaps preoccupied by tables indoors. I was never asked if I'd like another drink. Cost was $150 (3 meals, 2 appetizers & one drink ordered) We may give Andora a try again in the future, but if food is the same 'so-so' likely will not return. Having the same complaint about a food dish twice and it is not addressed -not outstanding service and other than the bread being fantastic, I give it only 3-stars. read more

Always my favorite outdoor seating since the Pines closed and changed ownership. This afternoon we were seated outdoors in the beautiful backyard. We were getting frustrated after waiting more than 20 minutes when Lilly came up and asked is anyone helping you? We were parched in the 90 degree heat and anxiously said no and Lilly saved the day by bringing water and our requested beverages.There only five other tables with customers and two other waitstaff that never approached us at 1:00 in the afternoon so we were surprised at the wait. The zucchini was great as always, my husband said the blackened chicken was very good and my fish was good despite also being blackened in some spots. Thanks to Lilly and her great service a frustrating start ended well as usual. The manager comped the appetizer despite our saying there was no need too as Lilly must have mentioned our wait, we are always patient and understand staff shortages now, boy that heat added to things. Again thanks to Lilly and please start selling the oil for bread it is delicious. We will see you again Andora. read more

Went today for lunch. I ordered the crab cake- substituted green beans and coleslaw. My friend got the fish sandwich, fries and added coleslaw. My crabcake was all crab and delicious. My greenbeans were fresh and good, but I prefer a lil more flavor. We both thought the coleslaw was good. My friend thought the fish sandwich was very fresh and good, but the fries were a lil salty. Overall the meal was great. It was served soo fast. We did say yes to the bread and oil but never got it- possibly because we received our food so fast. And the waitress was good and efficient- but as soon as she cleared our plates, we did not see her again for drink refills while we stayed and caught up. read more

Sadly, I just changed an older five star review to two stars. The food has definitely gone downhill and is pretty overpriced at this point for what you get. Last night, my salmon was overcooked and really nothing special. Appetizers are still decent, but what really made me come in to change the review was the service. Clearly the wait staff hasn't been properly trained. Not a single dirty plate was bussed from our table the entire time we were there. I asked for a cocktail recommendation and got a $11 lemonade drink that tasted like it had zero alcohol in it. And our waiter wandered around doing one thing at a time and then disappeared after our food was delivered and we waited 15-20 minutes to see him again and ask for our check. I first came here in the summer of 2020 for a meeting. This location came highly recommended for its outdoor patio, food and staff. I was visiting again this summer and am still impressed with the overall ambience. It is so calm and relaxed especially with the outdoor fountain. I wondered how I had not heard about this hidden gem after living in the north hills for over a decade. If you have never been, get a seat on the patio if you can. I have been for both lunch and dinner and enjoyed the salads and crab cakes. read more
