Killer fish sandwich! We are making it a point to try a new one every week during lent, but this one stood out to me! Battered and fried to crispy perfection. This is a "smoking allowed" place. I didn't notice any signage, but man, the interior smelled of cigarettes. Saw ashtrays on many tables, and people actively smoking. If you enjoy smoking, or are not adverse to being in the environment, carry on. I wasn't aware of this before walking in, and promptly left in less than minute. This was our first visit and wow was it good! The first thing we noticed was the crowd, lots of folks on a Saturday night is always a good sign. We ordered the summer sangria and while it was very tasty, $9 was way too much. The servers, all two of them (definitely need more when busy) were very pleasant and helpful. We ordered Fish and Ultimate BLT sandwiches with onion rings. The staff said: "All the food is good" when we asked if we were making good selections from the menu and they were right! If you don't mind the smell of smoke, this place is great! If you do mind smoke and the weather outside is nice, they have outdoor seating, this place is great! 2-thumbs up! Don't eat here. Not sure why it even showed up as a lunch place. It's a Smokey bar. We barely made it in the door before turning around.

Went there lastnight. Ordered 12 wings. Ruben with fries And loaded tatters skins. And drank 2 beers while waiting over 45 minutes for my food. While there i watch the bar tender put almost ath same amout of beer down the drain as she was serving. ( learn how to use a tap system) WHhen I asked the bar tender, how much longer for food? She said a few minutes. And sure enough 10 minutes later food was handed to me. I closed out my 50.00 tab. ( beer and food ) I left, got in my car drove 6 minutes, to get home. ALL OF MY FOOD WAS COLD. some of the wings had sause, some did not. All were cold and hard. Ruben and fries were cold to the touch. Loaded tatters skins were also cold. 3 items 50.00 later. Just to reheat my food. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Go else where. read more

Go here. If you like bar food and a good time you won't be disappointed. Looks like it was once a hole in the way but now remodeled. Bartenders are friendly, food is good and to be expected as good bar food, drinks are reasonably priced! They currently have a "to go" drink menu, Kaitlyn's Quarantini is tasty and goes down smooth. I believe it's vodka, seltzer, mint and strawberry simple syrup plus the respectable garnishes. Get it to go or drink it there in a big goblet. I also tried my friends Mango margarita that had a jalapeño kick to it.. if you like spicy, you'll love it. This is a definite recommend if you're looking for a chill bar with good food and drinks! read more

My friend and I have been coming here since before Covid and the food is always good! The staff is nice too!

My husband and I stopped in to eat after checking into our hotel late. It is a dive bar that serves food. Customers are allowed to smoke so very smoky inside. Waitress was super nice and checked on us several times. My husband had a burger that he enjoyed and I had the ultimate BLT which was delicious. I also recommend the pretzel braid. read more

Local bar that had excellent service, and great prices. The servers/bartenders were really friendly and hospitable. The kicker of this experience here is that after ordering wings and being told later the kitchen had actually run out, they came back and gave us a full order of wings on the house for the mistake (there may have been a cancelled order, or miscommunication in the kitchen.) Not only were the wings on the house, they were honestly some of the best wings I've had in a long time. Crispy, perfectly seasoned, juicy tender wings. If you're in town, I'd definitely recommend this place for a low key, laid back place to get some drinks and definitely wings. read more

I've been to this place on several occasions for takeout and normally the food is orrery good. *Disclaimer - It's not a place you'd want to stop by when you're headed out because you'll definitely smell like a bar and cigarette smoke. It's for on the way home, eat, hop in the shower or whatever you'd prefer. Usually the food is pretty good. This time I opted for the fish sandwich. Never again. Thick, greasy, overcooked breading made the experience uneventful. Too much salt on the fries. Total waste of gas, money and time. I'll just stick to what I know on the menu. read more

We had ordered a take out for dinner tonight. I ordered a Reuben and hubby ordered the gish sandwich. The Reuben was not that good. The meat was very fatty (which there is fat on it) & it was not very flavorful. The fish sandwich was way over cooked. It was very dark, like the oil may have needed changed. So I never ever thought these words would come out of my mouth, being a former smoker.... but when we opened the door and that smoke hit us in the face I almost turned right around.. Please for the love of all thats holy get a good smoke eater! It really doesn't have to be that bad! So anywho.... the server was friendly, and prompt it's not really a cocktail type of place so beer and Jack and cokes please.. even still the drinks were done well not to strong and not watered down like some places. He had the monk burger and I had half Italian hoagie both came with fries. They were both really good... we would love to go back just to eat but maybe on a night not so busy... The smoke was just so bad... the food is a 5 star all the way but I just can't, things also didn't seem very clean but they where busy... We will try it agian sometime hopefully the smog is cleaned up a bit. Seriously came home and immediately through our clothes the washer! Even just a fan sucking it out a window would be better... there were fans in the ceiling on full blast and there was at least the appearance of a smoke eater but it definitely wasn't working. This place is great. Aside from the smoke smell the food is good, portions are large and the price is fair. I love bars with good food this is a place you should stop for a quick drink too. The atmosphere is dependent upon the day of the week. I've been in there with a bunch of older folks and other nights with lots of young people. It's pretty mixed and I personally think that's great that it's catering to a wider demographic. I'm slowly working my way through the menu. read more

Place was wild. It was almost like a hooka bar but for cigarette smokers. You walk into a wall of smoke like it's 1984. Could get past the smell of stale smoke to know if the food was good (reminded me of my uncles Buick with velour interior that just absorbed the wretched smell and made you gag when you opened the door - no wonder why I got car sick as a kid). Went here for lunch today. While the burgers were good and the service friendly, there were two downfalls. It took quite a while for our food to come. Some folks came in long after us and did get their food faster, so it could have just been a timing thing. The thing that will keep me from returning is the cigarette smoke. I assume that due to the proportion of bar to seating, they are exempt from the no-smoking laws. The ventilation was terrible and my sinuses still hurt several hours later. Additionally, the flavor and experience of the food was very much impacted by the stale smokey atmosphere. read more

Other than that this place offers excellent service. It is a little small inside, so it may be hard to get a seat during peak hours. There are booths and bar seating. Let me tell you a story. Decided to go to the rosecliff for dinner tonight. 9:05pm, we sit down. A few of my friends didn't have their ID and I guess you have to be 21 after nine. That's fine. We'll order to go! "Well if you're under 21 you can't be here. I'll get you some menus." The waitress replied, rolling her eyes. When she never came, we left. We can call them in, and we'll sit on the patio. We sat in the dark for about 15 minutes before a very rude woman working busted through the door and barked "If you're the group that isn't 21 you can't be on the property." We were confused. "We ordered food!" I called back, very annoyed. "Oh." She anticlimactically replied. What a great way to treat customers. read more

I found myself in Monroeville today and after looking at this site for a lunch time recommendation, I walked into the Rose Cliff Tavern. It was a bit of a surprise for me that the first thing that I saw when I walked in the side entrance were four slot machines. The place was a bit smoky for my personal choice but decided to stay and give it a try anyway. I bellied up to the bar and eyed over the nine choices of beers on tap: Lakefront Maibock, Yungling, Yards Brawler, Hell Town, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel, Sam Adams Cold Snap, Guinness and Coors Light. Something for just about everyone. The menu has a good variety of pub fare: appetizers, salads, hot and cold sandwiches, a few dinner entrees but pizza seems to be the main focus. There was also a dagwood sandwich and steak fajitas available as the special of the day. The bartender showed me a picture of the dagwood sandwich on her phone and it looked as if it had about a pound of lunch meat and cheeses on it. Way more food than I was hungry for... I opted for the french dip, home fries and the Lakefront Maibock. The french dip sandwich came on a gently toasted bun and it was amazingly delicious. The home fries had some sautéed peppers mixed in and they were done to perfection; crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The Maibock complimented the meal wonderfully. Unfortunately the smoking detracts from this place but it doesn't seem to be hurting thier business. There were fourteen people in this place at 2:00 on a Monday afternoon. If you don't mind the smoking, I would recommend the Rose Cliff tavern. If smoking is an issue for you, you could always call ahead for take-out. Judging from what I had and from what I saw on other people's plates, the food here is quality pub fare. read more

If you want to go somewhere where they treat you like family and the bartenders are adorable and so sweet and the food is amazing, come to Rosecliff. Every patron is treated with respect. The prices are reasonable and and the beer is cold. The owner runs a tight ship so there isn't any shady stuff going on like there is at other bars. Bartenders don't steal or give away free drinks illegally and there aren't drugs in the bathroom. The head chef is always trying knew things to please the clientele. The kitchen is clean and he doesn't serve old, expired food. Everything is fresh. Yes, it's a smoking bar, but the owner makes sure that there is always ample ventilation. I have nothing bad to say. I think it is a very well run establishment with great employees and great food. read more

This place is awful. It should be categorized as a dive bar. One of the employees was bringing in a handful of frozen buns (from where I do not know) through the restaurant into the kitchen and he was holding them all up against his shirt. I was in here on 3/25/15 and I have to say, hands down the best service I've ever received. the one bartender I think needs lasik eye surgery but that's none of my business. other than that, the food was way better than what you would think it would be, the service is excellent and the bartenders aren't to bad to look at either. idk what it is about their yuengling, but man I could just drink it by the pitcher. anyway, check this place out you won't be dissapointed!! read more
