Restaurant in strip mall with lots of parking. Went for breakfast and was very busy. Waited for a table for 5 about 15 minutes. Breakfast menu is good. They also have lunch/dinner. We ordered waffles w/sausage, breakfast sandwich, and steak and egg. All were tasty. Their biscuits are homemade!!! Get them. This is your typical diner and that's the vibe inside. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. She was very much on top of things. Great experience! Didn't wait long for our food at all. The only tiny thing was that the coffee is not very good.

I was told to try the cheesesteak. I love the burgers but I was told to give the cheesesteak a try and it was amazing!!!

I always love a family dinner at Gateway Grill! It's the ultimate comfort food and space. The staff greeted us immediately and our server was super sweet and nice. She was quick to take our order but it did time some time for the food to come out, but when it did it was hot a delicious! Their pizza is meant to be eaten fresh and right away! I enjoyed a nice soft drink and got the Reese pie and a cheese cake to go. We will definitely be back!

Huge breakfast portions, friendly and quick service. I got the breakfast platter with 4 eggs, 4 pieces of bacon, home fries, and toast. I'm definitely coming back.

I loved everything about my various experiences here. Service has always been incredible. I've been seated in the bar area and the main restaurant, been there as a date night, on my own and with friends and the service was the same - consistent, attentive and overall wonderful. The real star, though, is the food. Everything I've ever had here was incredibly delicious. I really like that they have a bar bites menu and a regular dinner menu. The bar food is far from typical bar food. They are packed with flavor and upscale. The entrees - you really can't go wrong with any of them. My favorite entree was the swordfish. The feta and pepper cream were just the perfect proportion to the fish. A real standout is the sides. It should be noted that most entrees don't have a traditional side - you need to order them separately. But they are absolutely worth it. I'd go back and order a meal of the sides I liked them that much. Overall, an amazing place for a special date night or just a nice quiet meal. I highly recommend it!

We came for brunch , but there was no one in the restaurant outside of the party room. When reserving the private room you can select from two pre-fixed menus. I had the quiche entree which was just really basic to me. I would come back to try options from the full menu.

We came on a Tuesday, there weren't many people in the dining area but there were tons of pickup orders. It was quiet, the atmosphere was very chill, and our waitress (I apologize, I don't believe I remember her name) was very attentive and sweet! We ended up getting the combo boil, we got snow crab, pork sausage, crawfish, and shrimp. I had never had crawfish before so I was very curious. Turns out, I don't like them. But that's just one man's opinion! Nothing to do with the prep itself, just not my style! Everything else was phenomenal though! The crab was juicy and the Cajun spices made it really pop! I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a special meal, especially if you're a seafood fan! The price after having the combo and one drink each was about $60, or $30 per person. Wow! I had seen this place many times on social media and expected it to be super expensive but it wasn't! If I lived closer I'd be here all the time! If you're on the fence, let me push you over it. Get some seafood boil!

Haven't been here for several years but our group thought it would be a nice place to go for good food and conversation. The restaurant is pleasantly themed with its Italian roots. Lots of parking but a bit hard to see as it is tucked into a row of store fronts behind Eat'n Park.

I got to try the Sfogliatelle, vodka pasta, salad, and bread. I just live when places like this give bread, and high quality bread at that. Super soft and high quality. Add ons like that do really elevate the experience. And a solid side salad as well, with plenty of cheese but not very varied vegetable wise. The pasta itself was amazing. Very generous portion. A good amount of sauce, although not super evenly distributed. Perfect pasta and a really good, balanced vodka sauce. Really enjoyed this. The Sfogliatelle, it was my first time trying anything like this. It wasn't super sweet or all that flavorful at all, and was somewhat small. A bit lemony. Not sure if I'd have it again, but I loved the little crunchy sides and it was still pretty good. Overall, definitely a hidden gem in Murrysville. Loved the spot.

So, let's dive in!…read more The ambiance is nice and they host different events throughout the month, so they offer different opportunities to get out of the house to enjoy yourself. The event space accommodated about 12 tables (8 seats per table), and they had a full house for the event. There is also a seperate bar and some booth seating in that space. We attended their Friday Jazz session and the music was amazing. The music was flowing nonstop with a brief 20-minute intermission. We enjoyed their featured artist. They also offered a limited menu during the event, so we decided to give it a try. They are a soul food-based restaurant, so they have many southern and seafood options. I got lamb chops with mac and cheese and yams. My partner got crab cakes and Caesar salad. My partner said the caesar salad had red onions in it; however, it was one of the best he ever had. The dressing was homemade and the onions brought out the taste. His crab cakes were shaped like a patty, versus a jumbo lump crab cake, but with decent taste. He said the remoulade sauce kinda overpowered the crab, but was enjoyable. My lamb chops were tender and served medium to mid-well. The sauce on top was Carolina BBQ, which was ok, I would have just preferred the meat to be seasoned vs. sauce. The baked mac & cheese was delicious. It was very cheesy and you can taste the different cheeses. My yams were ok, but I prefer them to be a tad sweet for more of a candied flavor. The cornbread muffin was good soft and flakey, but not like the southern cornbread I'm used to. Perhaps if they had some honey butter or cinnamon butter to top it, it would complement the muffin very well. Overall, my experience was decent. They have a nice extensive menu and I would like to return to try some new items. They constantly have events like jazz, taco Tuesday, karaoke, brunch, etc, so I will definitely return.

Nothing we ate wasn't five stars, everything came out hot and tasted fresh. Food prices are steep but drink prices are amazing, so the balance works out perfectly. Can't give five stars just yet. The service was attentive and friendly, but, generally, really slow, the food took about 30 minutes but dessert took over an hour. The menu is robust but includes no appetizer/appetizer priced options so you do risk getting very hungry waiting for made to order. Bottom line the food tastes exquisite and the experience has all the feel of a new place with new staff (miscommunication, issue with our check etc.). All that being said, I think these are definitely issues that can improve with time to get this place to five stars and the food is definitely good enough to wait for!

Every…read moreweekend we try to hit up a new local coffee shop, and on this morning we decided to go to Aroma Joe's. We happened to be in Monroeville picking up a Christmas gift when I fired up Yelp and noticed there was an Aroma Joe's nearby. While we had not been to this specific location, we have visited the one in Greensburg a couple of times, so we had a pretty good idea of what to expect. This Aroma Joe's location only offers a drive thru and a walk up window. Since it was cold on the day we were there, we chose the drive thru. After looking over the menu, I decided on a hot Paris Toast latte, while my wife went with an iced peppermint latte. The menu describes the Paris Toast latte as having flavors of maple, brown sugar cinnamon, and shortbread. From the time we ordered until we received our drinks took about five minutes, so the staff here was definitely efficient. My coffee ended up being good. The flavorings came through nicely without hiding the coffee itself. The espresso also had a strong flavor, although it did leave my mouth feeling a bit dry for whatever reason. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Both my wife and I enjoyed our coffees, so why not.

I am not from, nor did I typically frequent, this side of town, so I have been enjoying trying a lot of new spots! One of those was Aroma Joe's. I visited here early on a Thursday morning on my way into work. This shop is located a little bit off of William Penn Highway, so it is close to a main road without the main road traffic. They have their own parking lot, and it is very easy to go in and out of the lot. When I stopped, it was not too busy yet. I decided to walk up and order at the window, since I had never been before. You can either order at the window or go through the drive-thru. The girl who took my order was very friendly and helpful. She gave me some information about the business, and gave me details on their menu and flavoring options. I was even offered a paper menu to take with me for future visits when I told her it was my first time visiting. Overall, she gave great customer service! Eventually, I decided on on the 24 Ounce Paris Toast signature latte with skim milk. Typically with any coffee drink with flavoring, I request it to be half sweet just solely based on personal preference. The accommodated the request for me with no problem. My drink was ready for me before I was even finished paying, so speed of service is superb. I enjoyed my drink very much! I plan to frequent there more, since I will be in this area of town more for at least the near future. I hope to try some of their seasonal offerings, and potentially some food items in the future. My only suggestion would be for the company to consider different options for their breakfast sandwiches. From what I was told, I believe they are premade, so you cannot switch out the bread the sandwiches come on. I know this goes beyond this location, but I would be more inclined to order something like that if I could choose my preferred meat and bread combination. Overall, I very much enjoyed this first visit to Aroma Joe's. The atmosphere, staff, and product are all great here. The customer service alone would have be coming back for another trip. I would highly recommend a stop here if you are in the Monroeville area looking for a coffee drink!
