a plate of ribs and vegetables

If your looking for a white glove establishment with Valet parking this place is not for you. If your want a meal that taste better than Mom's this is it. I had a full rack of ribs, with the hash brown potatoes, the salad was fresh with beets, black olives, cukes, tomatoes, and the home made Rasberry Dressing was like (wow i want to take a gallon home)

Steak kabobs

If you're looking for a delicious dinner for a great price you need to come here! The steak kabobs are my absolute favorite! The rice is so flavorful that they serve it on! Each entree comes with a soup or salad, and their homemade dressing is delicious!! I've ordered the pork chop in the past and it was huge and good!! They sure do know how to pour a glass of wine as well, very generous! Overall this place is a must try

Delicious food, clean, friendly environment. Very cozy inside. Got unlimited sweet teas that my server was very attentive to refill. Didn't take long for my food! Everything was delicious, and I will be back! Great place right in town close to home!

Both the food and the service are excellent. My first choice if asked where I want to dine.

botL - Cacio E Pepe with steak filet.

It almost feels like you discovered something you weren't supposed to find. The menu is just as random as the location -- sandwiches, tacos, salads, and small plates. It sounds chaotic... but somehow it works. But at botL, the cacio e pepe is king. Yes, that cacio e pepe. The infamous Roman dish with so few ingredients that it has no right delivering this much flavor. It's simple food that exposes bad technique instantly... and botL absolutely nails it. They don't mess around either, even incorporating the hollowed-out cheese wheel. Sure, it might look a little showy... but when it tastes this good, who cares? I added the blackened shrimp and it was cooked to perfection. Perfect seasoning, perfect texture, perfect addition. Sometimes the best meals come from the most unexpected places... and botL fits that bill perfectly.

Maizy, Lydia, attention to our service, Simone (chef) and Tom greeted us with smiles and welcomes! I never choose for anyone but said I'm ordering our entrees! Cacio de pepe with filet tips atop. Wedge salad, wedding soup, and stemmed glass martinis and cabernet with dinner! Oh, brûlée cheesecake with a birthday candle was perfect ending! We arrived later than planned and happily closed the place down. We never felt rushed to go!!! That's an exceptional quality! I love it here and so did they! Resers best especially during prime time and days, but the bar is fun too! Some side parking and neighborhood street parking! You can thank me later!

The person who got the last burger bun, it was stale. I wasn't told I was getting mine on white (stale) toast. The remainder of the people couldn't order half the menu because they were out of everything so they were stuck with mostly fried appetizers. Three of the girls never received their appetizer therefore it when it finally came after we told the server, it was after they ate their meal. Really poor experience. A shame because it could be fun as they have trivia Thursday. The mc for trivia was great but the kitchen is very poorly equipped. Won't return. Embarrassing experience as I brought these 9 other girls with me for trivia.

First and foremost, this is a review of the newly established relationship with the former…read moreEvolution Grill which is now the in-house food provider and NOT Tortured Souls. That said, they need to take note how the food service may impact their reputation. When you walk in, you're in the bar. There is no sign that says seat yourself or wait to be seated. No one acknowledged out entrance to explain how things work i.e. no hostess. I had to flag down the bar tender and was told you seat yourself, get drinks at the bar (and pay for them there) and order food back by the kitchen where the "counter" is. There is no table service (kind of). If you want refills, you walk back to the bar. Condiments, silverware and napkins are at the counter. If you want salt and pepper, there were two sets that you share with the restaurant and return when you're done. You take your plates, glasses and silverware to the station/garbage can and leave them there when you're done. None of this business model is appealing to me whatsoever for a non-fast food restaurant. Maybe others like this but if I wanted to go to McDonald's I'd go to McDonald's. I said "kind of" earlier because the kid who was taking orders was a hard worker and brought everyone's food to them even though we were told we would pick it up when our buzzer went off. He was a nice kid doing a good job especially considering he was the only one there. The bar tender was also very nice once she was able to talk to us. Now for the food.... I had been to Evolution Grill a few times and the meals were always excellent which is why I was excited about this collaboration. The fried zucchini was excellent! For some reason though, it came out last. Ironically, no matter who owned that restaurant in the past, they could NEVER seem to get the timing/order of the food right. It's like the building is cursed-very weird. My wife liked the Brussels sprouts and they looked good to me. My burger however was a joke. Look at the pictures. ONE PIECE OF BACON on a bacon cheeseburger. Seriously? I also wanted lettuce which you can see in the picture what was on the plate for me to put on the burger. Lastly, the burger was ordered medium rare and it came out gray and dry. We had high hopes for another option near our house but this was seriously disappointing. It was mid-priced-not cheap but not as expensive as some. Given that it's the same type of service as Chik-fil-a though, it's expensive to me. And....my meal was terrible. It won't last if it doesn't improve quickly. Tortured Souls owners need to have a talk with Evolution Grill folks and address this. The only reason I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 is that it felt a little unfair to Tortured Souls since they're separate to some degree.

What really stood out to me was how they handled a gravy overcharging issue. Instead of brushing it off, they not only corrected my order but took the time to explain they were training staff on a workaround until the system could be properly fixed. That's the kind of problem-solving and accountability you don't see everywhere. It says a lot about management when they're willing to acknowledge an issue and actively work to prevent it from happening to other customers. The service is reliably friendly, and you can tell the staff actually communicate with each other - orders come out right, the place runs smoothly, and there's a genuine helpfulness that makes it easy to keep coming back. Whether you're there for Blizzards, burgers, or those chicken strips that hit just right, this location takes care of you. As for the space itself, it's clean and well-maintained throughout. Fair warning: they do keep it a bit chilly inside - which honestly makes sense when you're serving ice cream, though you might want to bring a light jacket. They also have a party room up front that's perfect for special events and gatherings. I've seen them host things like visits with Santa, which is a nice community touch that makes this more than just your average fast food stop. Solid spot that does the fundamentals well and goes the extra step when it matters.

I tried quite a wide array from their menu, including the baked beans, cornbread muffins, beyond cheddar cheese burger, cheese fries, and a chocolate chip cookie. The burger was kind of a disappointment. This could very well be due to me not liking the vegetarian alternative (I've never had beyond before), but it was very strangely waxy. A strange faux butter kind of texture all over it. The cheese was also not melted and had a weird taste to it too. Almost bitter. If I come back, I,l definitely try a regular burger instead. The baked beans, though, were quite good. The portion they came in was great for the price. They were sweet and almost had a hint of cinnamon or something like that in them. Very good. The cheese fries were pretty good, too. Again, great portion. The cheese was a bit better here when compared to the burger. The fries were crispy and pretty flavorful. I enjoyed them. The cornbread muffin was pretty standard. I do like how they made the top almost glazed in a way; it was really good and not too dry. The chocolate chip cookies were a great way to end off the night. You get 2 in one order, and they have large chocolate chunks all over. Very good. All in all, this is a nice place to get classic soul food. However, the vegetarian options don't taste the best, and the burgers may have too much oil/margarine/butter. Otherwise, it's a very solid spot.
