High hopes based on multiple personal recommendations. We were not impressed. 2 stars and that's generous. Several of us decided to take the plunge and try Killian's after what seems like decades. We started by ordering drinks. The beer list seems like it was etched in time since around 1991. There was not a single worthy craft beer, and primary offerings included Budweiser, Miller, Yuengling, & Iron City. There was no draft beer. Strangely they had Killian's Irish Red which was in style in the 90's. The wine list was also sub-par. There were a few box wines, but styles were limited. They also charged $7 per glass. By contrast, Phillippi's, only a few miles away, charges $4.50 for a better selection. On to the food. We tried the steak salad. It was Pittsburgh-style with roasted or grilled potatoes rather than fries. Although the steak was tender, it was awful. Let me preface this by stating that I have an electric smoker and know a thing or two about smoking meats. The steak and potatoes tasted like creosote, and had a bitter, harsh oily flavor from over-smoking. In addition to being unhealthy, it was terrible. Later upon reading some of the reviews, we saw photos of charred meat, which tells us this is par for the course. Just WOW! Dear friends, this is NOT good smoked food, or how it is supposed to taste. Contrast this to Gaucho in Pittsburgh, or even a hardwood smoked pizza. Utterly disgusting. Next we had the potato salad. I expected something traditional. What I got was something that was overwhelmed by an odd flavor of cloves!?! Not sure why, but cloves does not enhance potato salad. Very bad. We had the spaghetti dinner with a side salad. I can't say it was bad, but it was mediocre at best. The salad was similar to the Burrell Inn with the MSG-laden Ciciarelli Bros. dressing. Not my style. This review is not going to change anyone's mind, nor is it the intention. The goal is to be objective and show that these reviews are incredibly wrong, yet still overwhelmingly positive. Our acquaintances were also wrong and will no longer be trusted. I also should mention that it was very pricey. This is obviously a popular establishment, but so is McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's to name a few. To each his own. read more

If you're looking for a delicious dinner for a great price you need to come here! The steak kabobs are my absolute favorite! The rice is so flavorful that they serve it on! Each entree comes with a soup or salad, and their homemade dressing is delicious!! I've ordered the pork chop in the past and it was huge and good!! Love finding the off the beaten path gem and this place answered. You wouldn't think they would have a perfect double bone pork chop- with bourbon glaze. But MAN did the chef cook it spot on medium. Killians is absolutely outstanding! The ribs are some of the best I've ever eaten and are to die for. The pimento and jalapeño burger is perfection and either potato choices are great!!! Great people working there too and wonderful owners who really care. Well tonight I got the ribs and OMG .. so juicy and trader fell right off the bone . My son got the beef nachos . I got the home fries with my ribs . The servings are huge and the service is great . If you are looking for DELICIOUS, MOUTHWATERING food then you need to come here. It is a little jem of a place that is on the main drag outta Creighton. Their steaks are tender, juicy and very flavorful. Had the Parmesan Crusted Steak this evening and it was fabulous.Sean and Dawn are spot on with these steaks and not to mention the buttery, scrumptious famous boiled red skin potatoes. Please be patient and temp yourself to an amazing meal at a long time restaurant in our area. Don't be fooled by the exterior. It may look like a biker bar, but it isn't. It's a cozy place with a fantastic cook. We've been there multiple times, each one great. We love the Reuben sandwiches and the half rack of ribs. Always, always order the fried potatoes as a side! read more

Went to this place for dinner based on some of the previous reviews. Was first off put by the location. A crummy dirty bar in a pretty run down area. First walking in I probably should have left. You could see into the offices and kitchen which were both a mess. And this young boy kept going in and out of the kitchen with an apron on. I still wonder if he was the head chef (kidding, but strange). They only take cash. And the bar had no taps. A "pub" with no drafts? It took about 30 minutes to get our soup and salad, which tasted fine. After over an hour, I saw our food sitting at the window. The waitress walked by it 3 times while it got cold. Then another waitress delivered it to another table at the other side of the bar. After it sat at their table for 15 minutes, they tried to give it to us saying "no one touched it". Expensive grill food. Not very well seasoned. Only thing I really liked was the boiled red skins. No drafts, just bottles. Slow servers!!! Expensive kids meals that aren't kid friendly. I could do better at home with a 10$ budget..... one of those other places uppity snoods get drinks at so they price inflate mediocre food. We went to Killian's for ribs. I usually do not eat ribs because you do not get much meat, but these ribs were soon meaty. We got a salad to split, which was delicious, a rack of ribs with great BBQ sauce and a LARGE bowl of buttery boiled red smashed potatoes. The price was $24 but it fed us for three meals. There was so much food and it was really good. The only bad thing about it is that each time we go back, we probably will order the ribs and not try the other stuff they have on the menu. My mouth still watering when I think how they fell off the bone. We will be going back soon. read more

Great burgers grilled on a wood fire. Flavorful steaks and specials every night. It's one of my favorite local restaurants. They use locally baked bread and buns along with freshly ground beef from a market in New Kensington. Don't miss it! read more

Never been disappointed with the food here! The chicken wraps & grilled chicken are great, awesome ribs & even got fabulous pork chops here. If it was closer to home I would eat there every week. My only complaint is I wish it was a larger restaurant as have had quite the wait at times for a table :( read more
