Absolutely the worst service by the most surly server that I have ever experienced. Normally this is a pretty good Eat n Park location that I frequent several times per month. I felt compelled to write this review entirely due to this server. Extremely slow, extremely inattentive and rude. She was actually actively hostile. It was practically an assault on her entire section. Banging plates, surly attitude. Orders were incorrect. No refills. If this were the first time I visited this location I would never consider going back. The only positive part of this experience was watching the facial expressions of our fellow patrons also subject to her abuse. Pure comedy gold. P.S. - Dear management. To be completed honest I'm not 100% if this was the exact location we went to as we were on the drive home to NJ and stopped in but it's a chain so. Never ate there, it reminded me of a Cracker Barrel but the menu options especially for the kids was huge!! They both loved their food and for $4? I think they got a drink and a cookie at the end. What a bargain! Coloring menus etc. the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend the pretzel appetizer. So good and the honey mustard that came with it. Yum! We came here for an early lunch and left disappointed. Our server wasn't very friendly at all. She was friendly to other tables, though, so I'm not sure what it was about us that she didn't like. Either way, it gave us the feeling that we were inconveniencing her by being at one of her tables. It wasn't a comfortable feeling or experience. Kiddo liked her cheeseburger, even though it wasn't the one she ordered. She ordered the cheeseburger and got the Super Burger. But at least it was prepared the way she wanted it, so that's what matters. It's why there's a two-star rating and not just one star. I got the salad bar. That's where the disappointment comes in. The lettuce and broccoli were fine. Everything else, not so much. The cucumbers and mushrooms looked like they were left over from the day before. It was too early in the day for them to have been that discolored. They tasted like they were left over and not cut fresh, too. There weren't any labels on anything, so I'm not sure what the brown stuff was. I'm assuming it was supposed to be chocolate pudding. It looked, however, like poo. Disgusting. Three soups were offered, but I can only speak for the chicken noodle soup. It wasn't hot. It was warm. Soups need to be hot, especially on cold days. And there were some kind of mini muffins, but I couldn't tell you what kind they were. They weren't blueberry or chocolate chip, I know that much. I took a few apart and still couldn't tell what they were. I couldn't tell after tasting one, either. Only thing my research found was that they didn't taste good. One bite was enough for the mystery muffins. I doubt we'll be back anytime soon. read more

I would give a zero star but clearly can't. Forgot multiple sides to our food, every order. Called 3 times, they answered and hung up each time. 3rd time, claimed they didn't have our order. After 15 mins on hold they said they found the order. I'm 9 months pregnant so I really wanted my food. I offered to drive to pick up the sides. When I got there, they gave me the sides and the manager said "they're just sides I don't know what the big deal is"...... we paid for them!!!!!! read more

If you've never tasted the Chicken Parmigiana at Eat N Park, I strongly suggest you do so. It is a breaded Chicken Breast sitting on Penne Pasta with your choice of marinara or meat sauce. I personally enjoy the meat sauce better. For this restaurant not being an Italian eatery, the food would surprise you. The meat sauce is fantastic with plenty of ground hamburger throughout. It's served with a slice of Texas garlic toast and a side. On Thursday the soup of the day is Wedding Soup which is a direct compliment to the meal. I'm 6'4" tall at 317 pounds and I leave with a full belly sometimes needing a container to take home the leftovers. They've done their homework on this Italian dish, it is truly an Italian festival to your palate, and enjoyable meal promising to give you the Village of Italy dancing in your mouth. The service is always friendly, the hostess pleasant, and the array of deserts to choose from, make Eat N Park my go to restaurant when I'm hungry because the portions are true to the picture on the menu depicting an explanation to the choice you make. My recommendation is try it for yourself, you will not be disappointed. The Ambiance of the interior has been completely redone giving a brighter cleaner look to give comfort unlike most darkened gloomy restaurants whereas you barely see the menu. Really would do 3.5 stars. My pot roast was incredibly salty, as if someone had salted it once and forgot they did, so did it a second time. The waitress walked passed me with my stuff to talk to another table twice (example - ask for sour cream for my potato, she comes out with sour cream and walks right past my table, and instead of hand it to me, she walks over and talks to another table, and then drops it off at me on the way back) But she was friendly and the appetizers and desserts were great. I ordered breakfast takeout. It was ready on time, and I tipped 25 percent and added a few extra dollars at the window. I asked for salt and pepper, and was given it in the bags used for the cookies. Really, no packets for takeout? I went down the road a bit and pulled over to eat, no silver ware for an egg dish. This is really ridiculous. Went for Breakfast with my mother. We both got seated fairly quickly but it went downhill once we ordered our food. We got there around 9:15 and got drinks, but our food didn't come out until 40 minutes later. All of our main dishes were hot but our side potato's were cold! My mother ordered the country fried steak with over medium eggs, those ALSO were cold! Our waitress had the nerve to ask her if she wanted the eggs and potato's "reheated". My mother had to insist she wanted them remade. The potato's came out hot which was great! But then her eggs came back overcooked and hard! If you're coming here for breakfast, just stick with the breakfast buffet instead of ordering off the menu, they cared a lot more about restocking that instead of attending to people who ordered off the menu. Eat n Park has the absolute best pies. The strawberry one is my favorite. They have so many other desserts as well. They have reasonably priced food options that are also equally as tasty. We were visiting from out of town and decided to stop in for breakfast. What a great experience and delicious food. Timothy was our server. He was friendly, fast, and attentive. Glad to have healthier options to choose from. Veggie omelet, rye toast, and fruit. We also tried the eggs over easy, bacon, and fruit. Everything was cooked perfectly. Glad we stopped in. I went into this restaurant for a quick dinner on Friday evening. There was no line and half the tables were empty. At the hostess stand I was told that it would be a ten to fifteen minute wait. Ok .I'll wait. By the time passed a line of about 20 people had formed behind me. They all agreed to the wait. After 15 minutes the hostess sat me at a 4 top table. I was alone and didn't need a large table but, Ok. So I sat there for about ten minutes and no server showed up. Finally I flagged down a food server, turns out I was in her station. I asked if I could order, she seemed disinterested but, she took my small order on a plain piece of paper. Not the usual order pad, but ok. I also asked for a glass of water . She left and never came back. I sat there for twenty minutes, nothing. The folks that came in after me were seated and and in some cases eating dinner. I didn't even have a glass of water. Then I saw my lazy server pandering to a couple across from me. She was going to save them the trip to the register and take their check up. I can't get a glass of water. So I'm not the type of person to raise a stink. I just got up and left. The hostess asked me why I was leaving and I told her. I understand the labor shortages of the restaurant industry now. But, my feeling on the subject is that management should leave a station empty rather than waste a paying customers time. This stupid server was not bright enough to know that I am a big tipper and a former food server so I know the problems and empathize with them . But there is never an excuse for laziness. read more

Potato soup brought by waitress was cold. Asked for it to be reheated. Then ordered the Mile-high meatloaf dish and it was COLD: bread, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy, onion rings...ALL COLD. This place wasn't even busy when we stopped in at 7:30pm. Sad. Won't be back, at least at this Monroeville location. Do better, Eat n Park. Maybe it was just a bad day, bad time, whatever...but ugh. Seated okay, waitress got our drinks and orders quickly enough. I got the breakfast buffet. Mistake. Walked up to an unappetizing appearing, unkempt and greasy looking hot mess. The food was at best bland. Bacon and sausage with grease thick on the bottom. Sausage gravy was tasteless. Biscuits were actually tough and chewy. The boy got a Philly Cheesteak omelet. He said it tasted okay, but it was delivered with wheat, not white bread. Plopped on the table and off she went without a chance to correct the order. I guess the place was crowded and too busy to attend to details like accuracy, or checking back if everything was okay. While we were in Western Pennsylvania, I wanted to be sure to try an Eat'n Park. Eat'n Park is a traditional American coffee shop chain, right out of the 1950s and 1960s. It's not retro, it's what retro themed restaurants are trying to emulate. It's the original. Eat'n Park was a major East Coast franchisee of Bob's Big Boy until the 1970s. Bob's was a place my family would always go in California in the 1960s and I loved the Big Boy Hamburger. So a chance to experience that ambiance again was very enticing, perhaps clouding my perceptions. The outside of this Eat'n Park location has been modernized, but inside was a Googie style coffee shop that looked just like a Bob's! The menu offers straightforward American food with no pretentions. I had to have the Original Superburger Deal. The cheeseburger was close, very close, to a Big Boy. My wife had one of the more contemporary burger offerings, a Classic Black Angus Cheeseburger. I was satisfied, though a burger from Red Robin or Cheeseburger in Paradise is a better choice. (Yes, they are better, but this was a nostalgia meal for me.) We both had Salad Bar. The Soup and Salad Bar was nice, with a variety of different vegetables and salad toppings available. We shared a slice of Key Lime Pie for dessert, and it was very good. On a second visit, we came to try breakfast. This was very good, better than the burger. Both my wife and I ordered omelettes. I one star the balsamic crusted chicken salad. There was so much balsamic glaze on the salad it really was not edible. I ate it even though it was truly terrible. We came here on a Sunday morning knowing full well we would have to battle the after-church crowd for a table. Thankfully we managed to arrive at the very beginning of that rush. Our wait for a table was ~15minutes or so. (By the time we were leaving around 11:30, it was an hour wait or so). We were sat a little early- our table still needed wiped and sat. The host was quick to do so. Sadly, we sat next to a rather large party, so I was constantly having to shift out of the way for the server on the party and the customers. Our waitress really was only here to get our food order and to drop off the food. I needed syrup and had to wait a while until I could snag her to grab some. We were cashed out before i was even done with eating. I understand that you're busy, but I'm still paying to eat my food.. why did I have to feel like I was rushed? That was really annoying to me. I would understand dropping the check off, but completely closing out our table was a little much in my opinion. I recognize the signs of "get out so I can get a new table".. Other than that, the food was pretty decent. Exactly what you expect from a diner. And it came out in a decent amount of time, giving how busy it was there. I love this location! The food is always consistently good! Lots of great choices on the menu like appetizers, bakery and breakfast items, burgers, salads, sandwiches, dinner entrees and desserts. The salad bar stays stocked and the waitstaff is always friendly. Service is usually on point too. My wife and I both chose the Salad Bar Dinner Deal. With it you get your choose of select entrees and the full fruit, soup and salad bar for $10.99. After mulling over the menu we finally all decided on what we wanted. My wife chose the Baked Ziti. It features Ziti baked with sliced Italian sausage, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese and comes served with garlic toast. I chose the Spicy Pepper Pasta. It features grilled chicken breast, Italian sausage, onions and bell peppers, tossed with Portogallo Pepper blend over penne, tomato cream sauce and Asiago cheese and comes served with garlic toast also. I was so stuffed after multiple trips to the salad bar that I ended up taking my meal home for lunch the next day. The chicken and pasta were cooked and seasoned perfectly and full of flavor! It was so good and is now one of my favorite Eat' n Park meals. Our daughter chose a bacon cheese burger and added on the salad bar. Big surprise right? She loves the bacon cheese burger and gets it and the salad bar literally ever time we come. I wish we had saved room for dessert but we were too full. My only complaint is that the service could have been better. Once our food arrived our waitress was M.I.A. for a good 10 minutes as our daughter forgot to ask for ranch dressing for her fries and ate most of her burger while she waited. We had to ask for refills multiple times and for more napkins. It also took a while for our stack of dirty plates from the salad bar to be removed. My husband and I read the reviews and thought it can't be that bad. It was worse than we could have ever imagined. I ordered the "sirloin and shrimp" dinner and paid $15 for the worst looking meat in the history of all meats. I couldn't eat any of it, I couldn't even feed it to my dog. Not only was the meat disgusting and diseased looking, the home fries were extremely undercooked.
