4.5 stars. Waffles INCaffeinated is a local restaurant chain that has several locations in the Pittsburgh area. In the past few years, I have eaten a few meals at this location in Wexford. Please see my attached photos for the breakfast/lunch/beverage menus in July 2024. For my first visit, no tables were available on a busy Saturday, so I ordered takeout. (Tip: Through the restaurant's website, customers may join a seating queue to avoid a long wait.) My takeout food was ready after about 30 minutes. For my second and third visits, which were also on Saturday mornings, I did not have to wait for a table at all, and the seating hostesses and waitresses very promptly and kindly served me. Here are my and my husband's ratings for our foods: MegaBerry waffle - 5 stars - I have ordered this waffle twice. For both times, this waffle was topped with a generous amount of fresh strawberries, blueberries, syrup, and whipped cream. Country Benedict - 5 stars - Waffles were topped with fried chicken, sausage gravy, and "perfectly runny" eggs--a unique and tasty combination! Benny Waffle - 4 stars - My husband ordered this entree twice, and for both times, the eggs were slightly overcooked. He did like the hollandaise sauce, ham, and some crab meat. Funky Monkey waffle - 3.5 stars - This waffle was topped with chocolate, peanut butter, and bananas, and I thought that it tasted alright. Strawberry Banana Crepes - 4 stars - These crepes were covered with strawberries, bananas, cheesecake, and strawberry reduction, and I liked them. Chicken and Waffles - 4 stars - The chicken had a crispy breading and a meaty center, and the waffle was topped with pecans and some maple-butter glaze. Bacon - 5 stars - We ordered four servings of bacon across our meals, and all slices were crispy and tasty. Hot chai tea - 5 stars - This tea had a delightful spiciness.

I visited with a friend for Saturday brunch. The interior was a colorful blue. It was easy to get a table. Our server was helpful answering questions on the seasonal menu. I enjoyed a seasonal peach of an omelet and a mimosa. The omelet was savory with a touch of the sweet peach.

It's easy to accidentally drive right past this storefront tucked in a bank of business on the main drag on Perry Highway, so keep your eyes peeled. This cozy intimate breakfast joint has both indoor and outdoor seating. I took my kids here for a special occasion breakfast and enjoyed the country benefit, sacre bleu-berry as well as kids waffles with chocolate chips. Everything was incredible. Our server was also very attentive and friendly.

Small little restaurant in an outlet but tasty waffles. I got the mega berry waffles and my girl got the waffle frolic - both great! Our waitress was extremely personable and nice. There's a small outdoor seating but we opted to sit inside. Yes, per other reviews the seating was close together but not a huge issue. Why rate this a 4 star? The waffles are amazing but a bit overpriced especially with no included sides like hash browns, bacon, etc. they're extra. I'm not the BIGGEST breakfast fan and I'm visiting Pittsburgh so I likely won't return but good food

Loved our server and our food. Would not recommend the iced latte though as it lacked any flavor. Other than that I was very happy with my experience and will be back again.

Really yummy! I went when it wasn't too busy and the food came out really quick. I recommend the omelets.

Waitress brought out the plate and handing it to me saying we will get you new home fries. They were burnt on outside but cold on inside. The sausage was burnt on underside which they flipped over out of sight. Didn't know until I bit into it. Why would they serve the plate knowing it was of poor quality. After I brought it up, I had to ask for them to take it off my bill as they did not offer. Frequent customer previously, but this location is going south. Won't be back.

This place was awesome. Everything going to all tables looked so good we did not know what to pick. The meals we ended up getting were so delicious. Thank you cooks. BOHK you do a great job. Food came out fast and hot just like I like it. Also got to rinse it down with one of there own craft beers , also amazing. Can't remember the name but it was a ipa ... my wife and I are combing back next time we are in town !

Crab and bacon omelette with mushrooms in the side! Keto-friendly!

Really good, friendly service. Many uniquely creative menu items. Decently priced for a the amount of food and the choices offered.

Me and my family visited one afternoon and were blown away by our meal, the friendly waitress, and the charming retro interior here. The space is small, but it only adds to the charm. The first thing that caught my eye was the checkered flooring and all of the wall decor. This diner was everything I expected from a diner. I ordered a french onion soup with a swiss mushroom burger. They seem to have many soup options, im assuming they change the soups depending on the day. My father ordered pancakes that were larger than his head! But honestly, my favorite thing I ordered must have been their iced tea. Something about it was just so refreshing, I made sure to gulp all of it down before we left. If you are hungry and want good food in ginormous portions, this is the place to go.

Examples of menu items are appetizers (e.g., shrimp cocktail and nachos), soups, salads, wings, burgers, flatbreads, entrees (e.g., pasta primavera, chicken, duck, pork chop, swordfish, and A-5 wagyu), desserts (e.g., limoncello and cheesecake), and drinks (e.g., mocktails, cocktails, wines, whiskeys, and beers). My husband and I have eaten here twice--once for lunch last year and once for dinner this year. Both times, we enjoyed the employees' service and the foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Passionfruit-Paloma Mocktail - 4 stars - sour. Spring Sangria - 4.5 stars - slightly fruity. Jumbo Pretzel - 5 stars - huge size with beer cheese and mustard sauce. French Onion Soup - 5 stars - This soup had a rich broth, onions, and cheese. Ybor Cuban sandwich - 4.5 stars - nicely crunchy toast with tasty pork, ham, and Swiss cheese and a side of crispy onion rings. Salmon - 5 stars - I ordered this entree both times. The salmon was perfectly cooked and came with flavorful farro grains, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. Filet Mignon - 5 stars - This 8-ounce steak was cooked mid-rare as my husband prefers. It came with whipped potatoes and his choice of au poivre style (black pepper crusted with bourbon cream).

Owned by longtime locals John and Melanie Dober, it positions itself as a warm, community-focused spot blending upscale comfort food with a welcoming vibe--think handcrafted sandwiches, premium Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood, flatbreads, and daily specials, all with thoughtful wine and bourbon selections. We were excited for what promised to be a polished neighborhood gem, and in many ways, it delivered. The food was genuinely great and the clear highlight. Our dishes were flavorful, well-executed, and creative without being fussy--fresh ingredients shone through, portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated. It's easy to see why so many reviewers rave about the crab cakes, steaks, and chef specials; the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. This is elevated American fare that feels special yet approachable, and we'd happily return just for the meals. That said, a few aspects fell short and left us feeling the overall experience wasn't quite as seamless as the food deserved. First and foremost, the billing transparency issue was disappointing. They add a 3% bank/credit card processing fee to the check (which adds up quickly on a family dinner), but this isn't disclosed on the menu, at the table, or in any obvious way during the ordering process. There's only a small sign posted outside the restaurant. We only noticed it when the bill arrived, and it felt like an afterthought rather than a clear policy. In an era where many restaurants are upfront about surcharges (or absorb them), this lack of disclosure came across as sneaky and detracted from the otherwise positive value perception. The atmosphere was another mixed bag. The space itself is attractive--soft lighting, comfortable seating, and that friendly "upscale brew pub" energy the owners aim for. However, it was noticeably noisy during our evening visit. Conversations required raised voices, especially as the dining room filled up, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal fully. OpenTable rates the noise as "moderate," but on our night it tipped louder than that, possibly due to the layout or lack of sufficient sound absorption. A bit more attention to acoustics could make a big difference. Service was mostly attentive and efficient, but the management interaction stood out in a negative way. When we politely mentioned the surprise fee at the end of the meal, the response was an apology that felt scripted and insincere--like it had been delivered many times before without real follow-through or ownership. It didn't leave us feeling heard or valued as guests. On a brighter note, the owners John and Melanie genuinely come across as lovely people. The restaurant has that personal, homegrown touch you can sense even when they're not physically present, and locals speak highly of them. They were absent during our nighttime visit, though, which is understandable for owners juggling a busy operation--but their warmth is missed when the front-of-house team is handling everything solo. In summary, Wexford Public excels where it matters most: the food is consistently excellent and worth the trip on its own. The family-owned charm and diverse menu make it a strong neighborhood choice for special occasions, casual dinners, or even happy hour in the cocktail bar. However, clearer communication about the credit card fee (ideally on the menu or bill upfront), better noise management, and more authentic handling of guest concerns would elevate it from very good to outstanding. We'll likely go back for the cuisine, but with tempered expectations on the finer details. If you're in the Wexford area and prioritize great American plates, it's still a solid recommendation--just check the small print before you pay.
