Great little out of the way gem. Good service. They were very busy but our food came fairly quickly. Good, homemade food. Nothing fancy but worth the drive. read more

Would be 3.5 if half stars were allowed. I've been here multiple times and the reason for the lower rating is the inconsistencies. In my most recent visit, we each ordered a single pancake and a side of bacon. The restaurant was busy, so we expected a wait. But 20 minutes later we hadn't seen our server at all for drink refills (or food) and when we asked about when the food was coming (we asked someone else because we hadn't seen our server) they said "you need to ask your server that" Well, we can't because she is apparently MIA... The pancakes were HUGE. The full size of the plate. But they were SO dry. I'm not sure if they were overcooked or what, but they were just not good. We loaded them with butter and syrup and they were still somehow dry. My daughter mentioned it to our server and she said "well the kitchen is just busy today" Maybe it was an off day, but between the food not tasting all that great and the service being non existent, we were pretty frustrated. On another visit, our service was almost too attentive. Hovering, constantly asking if we needed anything else. They have a fantastic variety on their menu and I have had really good meals here. But they really do need to work on their consistency in food quality and service. read more

It's been a minute since I've been to a Bob's Diner. I do enjoy the diner scene. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad, a side of fries and chocolate java cake for dessert. The buffalo sauce on the salad was a good amount of spicy heat. It was a big salad. The side of fries was a little small for the price. I got a lot a tiny pieces like it was either the bottom of the bag or end of the ones they just cooked. The chocolate in the chocolate Java cake hide the Java but was still tasty. My server was always ready with a refill for my tea. Definitely a place where you know you'll get a simple good meal read more

Bob's diner should be a landmark, a testament to great diners. Conveniently located, reasonably priced, great food and service. Nice diner ambiance read more

Chicken fried steak was way over cooked. Egg was almost not cooked. Services was slow. Cool decor.

Service was great. Was seated immediately after I walked in by a friendly employee. My waitress was also extremely friendly and made helpful recommendations for food. I ultimately ordered a turkey bacon Swiss sandwich which turned out to be fantastic and was delivered to me within 5 minutes of ordering. In the restaurant there is music playing and bring orange colors giving it a bit of an oldies feel which I appreciated. Over very nice 5 star experience would recommend read more

The meatloaf dinner I had was terrible. The Brussels sprouts that I was served look like oysters. I didn't even know that was the vegetable being offered. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and my server never spoke to me until she asked me if I wanted a to go box. I left most of the dinner. I won't go back. read more

Don"t drive past this gem of a place. Our breakfast was excellent, the service was top notch and OMG you WILL NOT leave hungry! If we were ever in this area again it would be a no brainer to eat here again very good!! read more

Busy morning, got sat at a table that was broke. Asked the server if we could have a table cleaned next to us. Only for the host to cause an embarrassing moment. Tried to explain and she wouldn't not stop saying I understand but I need this table. Horrible that no communication was given. She seen it was being cleaned because we asked for it and she wanted to move another customer to the table. Or server walked away without defending our reason. The way it was handled was really unacceptable. I didn't argue I simply got up and walked out. I have been going to this place over 10 years and travel there often. I'm just mortified how we were treated. There was plenty of other tables to clean. read more

This is very staple diner food. Nothing special, nothing to go out of your way for. Just a solid diner where you'll have a diner quality breakfast. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever Country fried steak was good, the gravy was above average and biscuits were cooked well. The shredded hashbrowns tasted like McDonald's hash browns, very greasy, and I loved it. Make sure to order them extra crispy I will say the pancakes were a let down. Yes they're "big" as in circumference but they were very thin. Not much fluff going on there which is a big disappointment. Always want my pancakes better than the food itself but the savory dishes were good Our waitress was very sweet and super tentative. Sammy I think her name was The restaurant is cute and gives GREAT diner vibes. I will say there are a few churches within walking distance so I imagine it'll get packed after service because there isn't a crazy amount of seating. In the summer they do have outdoor seating which is always a pleasure read more

This place is adorable... The interior is so bright and cheerful, and the staff is great. If you're there for breakfast, I highly recommend the eggs Benedict. It just needed a touch more sauce I think. I also got the peanut butter pie to go, so I'm excited to try that. We had Beatrice as our server. Definitely a great place to stop by when you're in the Carnegie area and needing a diner food fix! read more

In my opinion, Bob's Diner makes the best Chicken Fried Steak in town. The outside breading is crunchy and the interior meat is extremely tender. The meat must have been beaten to a pulp with a meat tenderizer and brined because I have been back at least 5 times just for this. I also normally add a side of corned beef hash to round out this satisfying breakfast. On a few occasions, the wait was too long so I was not able to get in to eat; I later found out that they were short staffed that day. read more

Was in the area and wanted some breakfast. Significant other has eaten here before so he pulled in. Walked in and were seated immediately. Our waitress was very nice. I got the Bobs eggs benny, hit the spot. Loved the thick cut of ham. And their breakfast potatoes were amazing. Very reasonably priced. It was a holiday so it wasn't too busy when we were there but the after church crowd did begin to roll in when we were leaving which we were very happy about. They were closing an hour early which was completely understandable. read more

Excellent service and great food ! I would highly recommend Bob's Diner ! Wide variety of comfort foods !

CATERING my company chooses Bob's to cater our holiday party; this is my eighth year enjoying their spread! Consistent and delicious every single year. They place charcuterie and vegetable trays in our kitchenettes on each floor before lunch is served, then a really scrumptious buffet of chicken marsala, green beans, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and everybody looks forward to the pierogi dish! ... absolutely not what you would think of when you think of a diner and the staff are always extremely accommodating and friendly! Just in case you didn't know about the catering, I highly recommend it. read more

Bob's is a great diner with good food and has excellent servers. A couple of suggestions that I would make is to have a dedicated person to clear and clean the tables on weekends and holidays. To have the hosts or servers try to do this isn't good use of their time. Also, if there are people waiting to be seated because of it being crowded, have them wait in their car or outside. It's very frustrating to have people hovering over you as you are eating and the servers have a problem weaving their way through the throngs of customers waiting to be seated. And one last suggestion, never have the host take a to go order over the phone when there is a line of people waiting to pay their check. Without question, I will be back tomorrow and the next day and the next day etc read more

No matter how many times I come here it's always a good meal, mostly breakfast visits. The service is on point and it's just the meeting of so many people from various communities that warms the soul. Okay I've eaten at a lot of dinners this one I have eaten at more than once, the coffee sucks, and it's just brown water, this place is a little pricey on the diner side, so you would hope for at least good food but that's not the case here it is okay and that's all it is okay and for the prices I don't want okay, my friend had pancakes that were nice size, bananas and pecan, I hardly seen any bananas on top of it and she thought they were dry and trust the syrup is like water, I know they don't give you real maple syrup anywhere you go, but at least the syrup is syrup, this was watery, $7.50 for a plain waffle, and it was just okay, I have had the veggie wrap and it was just okay nothing to write home about, now I will say the service was excellent read more

On a cold Saturday morning Bob's was packed. The hostess took our name and number. We waited in the car. After a short wait we were called to come in because there is no waiting area. Parking is ample. Meals are large and so delicious. Specials today were pumpkin pancakes and quiche. The pancakes were large and covered with cinnamon and sugar. Yum. Everything was nice in this fun vintage type diner. Accessible? A wheelchair would be hard to maneuver. read more

Always a fair price and a quality meal. Whether it's dinner lunch or breakfast, you can rely on Bob's to get it right. Large portions, friendly staff and reasonable price points keep everyone coming back. It's a great example of a great diner doing things the right way. I wish there were more diners like this. Fried food always hot and crispy. Pancakes always fluffy. Sweets are always spot on. Now If we can pray hard for a graveyard shift... we might even have a 24 hr diner. If we dream it will it come??? Time will tell. Enjoy Bobs during the daylight hours for now read more

Returned for my second trip here with my partner. The service is really fast! I had the patty melt. It was fine. A little wet and the patty was kinda chunky for the bread. Very little flavor. This place was open and conveniently located near our hotel, but I'm sure we won't be back. Unfortunately, my Mom found a hair in her food. They quickly remade her meal. However, Mom liked her meal (otherwise) biscuits and gravy and home fries. I had a California burger. It was eatable, but I've had better. The ambiance was mostly welcoming and clean....they were preparing to close, so cleaning while serving. read more

My brother and sister-in-law invited me for lunch at Bob's Diner yesterday. We're it not for their invitation, I probably would never have experienced this gem! First off, I don't live near Carnegie and rarely go there. Second, I'm not much of a diner fan. We'll, I'm here to say I'm a Bob's Diner fan! We met Sunday after church so, of course, there was a wait. We were told 25 minutes and it was pretty close, maybe a few minutes less. We waited outside because it was a beautiful day. Had it been cold, you could wait in your car because they call your cell. There is no room to wait inside. I had an omelet with hash browns and raisin toast. It was spectacular! My brother had a patty melt and sil, a Rachel sandwich. We were all very happy with our food. My brother also loves their Philly cheese steak. I live downtown, so Carnegie is not too convenient, but Bob's is definitely worth taking a drive for! read more

I went there for the first time on the day after the derecho came through and caused all of the major power outages, and despite the place being extremely busy and understaffed the manager who was a woman whose name started with a D (Diona?) It's delicious, it's relatively cheap - it's my local diner! I've eaten at Bob's a couple times (for breakfast and lunch), and have always enjoyed my meals here. My breakfasts have included an enormous pile of strawberry French toast complete with syrup, whipped cream, and strawberry filling. During other visits later in the day, I've gone for salads or sandwiches. Everything has always been delicious - always fresh, always served quickly, and always served hot (well, except for the salad greens!). The diner itself is pretty cozy; in fact paying before leaving can admittedly take some time if the place is busy, as you have to wait for someone to come to the register and check you out. But that's pretty much the only drawback I've come across at Bob's so far. Hopefully I have a chance to come back and sample a little more of their menu soon! read more
