Traditional eggs Benedict
David J.

Kelly O's was in our path on a late morning and it was a little too early for lunch, so we stopped in. We rarely do restaurant breakfasts, except when travelling. We both had the traditional eggs Benedict, not being adventurous enough to try the more exotic versions. The eggs were good, meaning they were the traditional offering, with real holandés sauce and Canadian bacon. The breakfast potatoes were also good, meaning they were actually hot when served. The setting is pure, authentic retro diner, so you either like it or don't. I give it 4 stars, the highest I will go for breakfast, because there's little potential to differentiate the breakfast menu and preparation. So we were happy and it's on our approved list, but we're not likely to return soon.

Biscuits & gravy with Shredded Potatoes & sunny side eggs

Your basic Pittsburgh diner but better! For one, I didn't leave smelling like the kitchen or the griddle the food was cooked on. I grew up in the south so biscuits and gravy were a staple in my life. It is still one of my favorite breakfast foods. Too many upscale breakfast & brunch joints try to put their spin on the dish and then up charge for something that usually lacks in flavor. These did not disappoint! Lots of sausage, flavor & thick! The biscuits were so buttery and the perfect crunch to soft ratio. Potatoes could have stood to be a bit crispier to my liking but they were fine. Eggs and sausage are hard to mess up, both were great! Service was QUICK! I dined alone at the counter. Several waitresses checked on me and made genuine conversation while I was there. I love a weekend solo breakfast date! There is another diner closer to my house but Kelly Os is worth the extra 12 minute drive. Will be back for many more dine ins!

Kelly O baby! What a cool experience we had on a Saturday morning. Did a quick search for breakfast while we were at a nearby hotel and Kelly's popped up. Little did we know it was featured on Triple D in 2019! Very cool. What we snagged: -Diner coffee...off the chains. -Breakfast Plater (Bacon cooked perfectly) -Breakfast sandwich with a biscuit with a side of home fries. (Home fries were cooked crispy and amazing!) Would highly recommend Kelly O's to ANYONE within 5 square miles of this joint. No frills place that is dishing up great food. They also have a small section of the menu with the items Guy tried from triple D. Really great idea.

Once again, we find ourselves at a Triple D location and are at odds with it. We went to the original location, which is pretty far from Pittsburgh as far as driving sake, the roads around there are crazy. There was a wait, which is a good sign and the place is really small. Once up, we asked to sit at the breakfast bar in hopes to get seated sooner with faster service. Well, we did wait about 8 minutes to get our drink order taken. At the breakfast bar? There were about 4 people back and forth there so that seemed a little crazy. Turn to form for Ben, we ordered items that were on the Triple D show (his I cannot think of the name of) and mine was the biscuits and gravy. I actually ordered the regular size as I wanted the hashbrowns, etc that went along with it but still asked for only 1 biscuit as I can never eat two. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to biscuits and gravy is when I ask for just 1 biscuit that doesn't mean I want less gravy. It came out with what I would consider very little gravy so after a few minutes of waiting, I asked if I could have a little extra and showed the plate to explain there wasn't much. Ohhhh the joy I had when I found out that I was charged $4.99 for that extra amount they gave. Definitely didn't ask for a SIDE of it, but really what should have been given if two biscuits were there. Ben enjoyed his meal and made him feel like he was back in Europe. It was not a breakfast item, but given our time there more of brunch item or dinner. I did have a taste and it was completely new to me so I couldn't have an opinion one way or the other, outside of it not being breakfast which is what I was there for. Ben left full but did mention that he didn't think that would be an item he would order again, maybe just too different. Service again once we had the food was lacking, again we didn't understand when we were sitting right there in front of so many people. The regular next to me even offered me his creamer for my coffee because he noticed I was waiting for it from my first cup. Service for him was very different I noticed, they did know him by name and service was often and quick so I appreciated his kindness to offer his intended items.

Country Fried Steak with potatoes and scrambled eggs.

If this place is good enough for Guy Fieri, it's good enough for me. They are proud of the fact that they were featured on Diners Drive In's & Dives! I always enjoy coming here for breakfast. It's good food served quickly. They seat you on first come first served basis. And if you have a larger party, they will not seat you until everyone is present. I cannot recommend any one dish, for I have not had one that I have not liked. I can't wait to go back and try something different! So don't be afraid to try anything on their menu.

Came here for the first time and had a great experience! Your classic diner with quality food is not dead! I got grits and eggs with a side of hot sauce and my friends got the turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and the roast beef omelette. All items were fantastic but the roast beef omelette absolutely stole the show. The omelette had the biggest chunks of the most tender roast beef, I'd highly recommend getting this!! I also love that the food here isn't too greasy!

I was passing by and was in the mood for some breakfast. The place has a nice vibe and is an old style looking diner, Which is vert=y cool. The staff where friendly and very nice. I ordered 2 eggs scrambled with bacon and home fries to go. The breakfast was great as well as the service. I would defiantly go again when in the area.

Country Fried Steak & Eggs

Loved the ambiance, the wall art, and just looking at everything they had. We came here on a Saturday late morning and got seated quickly. The service was good and attentive. The mixed grill was ok nothing too special about it. One of our friends got the Pittsburgh eggs Benedict (didn't get a pic); she loved the saltiness and sweetness from the kielbasa and sautéed onions. As for the country-fried steak and eggs, the steak had a crispy outside, but the gravy was too peppery. Overall, willing to give it a second chance and might try out the strip district location or a different entree.

It was a typical retro-vintage stop inside, and I was forewarned by the veteran waitress they were open only for the next half-hour. I reassured her I was not planning to stay long. It must've been the end of a long shift for her because she was grumbling to the busboy about the other waitress who decided to leave early. This other woman, clearly the 'Kiss Mah Grits' type, alienated me by calling me Mr. Miyagi and cackling about it to the rest of the staff. I thought I might be expected to recite lines from "The Karate Kid". Instead I ordered the $11.25 Grilled Meatloaf Melt, which came with quite a slice covered in fried onions and melted Swiss cheese barely held together by the toasted rye bread. It was on the greasy side, and the fries were dried out (Photo 10). What would Mr. Miyagi say? I had mentioned a nearby diner to a fan I met at the game the night before and he scoffed at me and told me all about DeLuca's. DeLuca's is exactly what I'm looking for in a diner! Old school place, seating was comfortable, and our waitress made us feel right at home! I went with the Steel City and that included everything! Pancakes (which our lovely waitress added complimentary bananas to), hot sausage, bacon, home fries, eggs, and Italian bread toast. Everything was cooked perfectly! Hot sausage and eggs made a perfect sandwich on that bread! My wife had a delicious omelette. Such a wonderful send off from Pittsburgh!

From the second we walked in, the atmosphere was so charming and nostalgic, right down to the unbelievably reasonable prices. It's the kind of spot that instantly makes you feel comfortable and keeps you entertained the entire time you're there. We sat at the bar and were greeted right away with coffee and water while we looked over the menu. One of the coolest parts was being able to watch the food being prepared right in front of us - the entire vibe of the room felt lively, authentic, and honestly hilarious at times. Between the conversations, the energy behind the counter, and the overall ambiance, it genuinely felt like dinner and a comedy show wrapped into one. We ordered the vegetable omelet and the pancake special, and both came out piping hot and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted homemade, fresh, and comforting in the way classic breakfast spots should. You can tell this place has character, heart, and a loyal following for a reason.
