Service and food was great and very consistent I come here every time I'm in town for business

I'm from Houston Tx and I just stopped by for a drink. Didn't get any food as I already ate but did hear good reviews from the locals. The bar was clean, well staffed, and had good service. Would definitely recommend this spot. Although the inside seemed a little tight it had a large outdoor patio. It ain't Houston with 100 degree so I may suggest the outdoor patio. It was also busy. The "corner store" beer, drink fridge was interesting. Grab whatever drink pleases you. This is probably the first and only restaurant I've ever been to that had this option. It feels very trusting & local as pretty much anyone can walk up and grab a beer or drink from the fridge and let their bartender know which drink you grabbed. Made my first visit to Dads. My family arrived around 4:30 on a Wednesday and we were promptly greeted and seated. The menu has a little bit of everything (mostly sandwiches/burgers/wings). I opted for the brisket sandwich with fresh cut fries. My sandwich was tasty. I also indulged with a special spring cocktail (Orange Crush) which was good, not sure if it's $9.00 good, but refreshing. My family had a gyro, cheesesteak and chicken steak. Sides ranged from fries, chips, and onion rings. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I don't travel out to the Monroeville area as much as I used to but this is a nice non-chain option in the area. Stopped there a few Mondays' ago for lunch since Mohans and Gateway Grill were closed on Mondays. We had a group of 9 which they seated us in the main crowded room almost sitting on top of each other. The adjacent room where the bar is only had two people in there dining. It was loud, crowded and could not carry on a conversation where we were sitting. I ordered the cod bites which came with nothing else. I asked for cocktail sauce which was almost frozen, watery and unpalatable. The cod bites should be called fish-balls since you get 6-8 of these small size hush-puppies for $16. I was very disappointed and probably will not go back. The location in Braddock Hills has a lot better in staff, noise, hot waitresses, etc. read more

I love my parents but they're a lot of work. God bless them. So I was really looking forward to these three specific things all day long- a Pittsburgh steak salad, wings and an extra dirty martini. Dad's Pub and Grub is a staple for us when we are in the Monroeville Area. When I was teaching at a neighboring school district, we would come for happy hour. The service is always fast, friendly, and efficient. The inside is spacious enough, with generally enough seating. My go to's are the Grueben, which is a mix between a Reuben and a Gyro and the Brisket Sandwich. My wife generally gets a hoagie or salad and my kids love the hot cheese balls. read more

If you are looking for a speedy stop off the freeway that isn't a big chain...with loads of options this might be a good place for you. Service was great waitress warned me that the fish tacos had 3 layers of spice so I might not enjoy it. I ordered the gyro instead which wasn't great. My husband ordered the Yinzer??? Burger which he enjoyed but said it was very heavy. After studying the menu for a bit it appears Yinzer is Mac and Cheese on something/anything... did not see Yinzer Pizza though... there was Yinzer pretty much everything else. We each ordered the different frie options...one was beer battered and one was hand cut thin with skins. We both thought the battered were best but my husband had no problem finishing his hand cut either. Ambiance was pub/dark wood benches with lots of TVs. Im guessing it was an old Pizza Hut by the shape of the roof. The bathrooms were new and very nice. It was very cold in the restaurant itself...but out side was very hot. Stopped on Beautiful Saturday afternoon to take advantage of outside seating for Pirates Game. Missed first inning while they weakly attempted to turn tv on. Futile attempts resulted in chasing us inside to bar were tv's were glued to a rousing pickleball match. This resulted in chasing us out. No review of food possible. Surprisingly, this was a pretty good place to eat. It's nothing particularly special, but the food was pretty good. It looks like a mix of a bar, a small restaurant, and a Wawa. The place looked clean and the staff friendly. I had the corned beef sandwich on marble rye with Cole slaw on it. It's basically a Rachel sandwich. It was delicious!! Very dirty inside. Tables and chairs were just grimy and sticky. Food was not great either. Greasy and bland.

I loved it the burgers and fries are great, also their wings and chips I would recommend the wings.

We were looking for some lunch on our road trip and really did not want fast food but something quick. Dads is right off 76 and had plenty of parking. Greeted with a clean, dark but not too dark, and wonderful air conditioning. Seating was quick and welcome service was excellent. I couldn't decide between a gyro or the wedding soup and was pleasantly suggested the soup could be my side. Kids devoured their mini corn dogs and Mac and Cheese. Hubby had a burger that had Mac and cheese on it and I barely had time to even wrap my mind on how he could begin to eat it and poof! It was gone and no mess. We stopped here with our dogs for lunch. My wife had an excellent steak salad. I had a baked Italian hoagie, which was quite tasty. The hand cut fries are delicious!!! Our 2 dogs enjoyed the dog-friendly patio. Our sever was very attentive and brought our dogs bowls of water. read more

This is the second time I've eaten here, both times I've tried different burgers and had the homemade chips. This time I had the shrooms and Swiss burger and thought it was nicely loaded with mushrooms, and very filling. I love their homemade chips. The aesthetics are what you'd expect of a local tavern that used to be a Pizza Hut. Nothing inspiring about the setting or decor, but they hit the most important things I look for. For sure I'll visit again. We've had several meals here it's a favorite with us as a halfway location to meet up with family that live north of Monroville, we live south of here, so it's about halfway. It's a sports bar, with good sandwiches. I recommend this place for lunch if you happen to be in Monroville. read more

I do enjoy coming here for the comfort food. Eating in isn't quick. It often takes a long time to get your food. They do a lot of take out/grub hub orders and I believe that bogs down the wait time for food. read more

My boyfriend and I went to drink here on a Friday night, was told the bar was full and we had to wait. As we were waiting two different couples came in and they were directed to the bar with no issue. I don't know if it we were younger and the crowd was mainly 40+ but we felt like we weren't wanted there. We left after a third couple came in was directed to the bar. read more

Dad's is a restaurant we frequent often. Our most recent visit, we ordered the fireballs (fried pepper jack cheese balls) as an appetizer. I'd never had them before but they are fried nicely, and the pepper jack cheese had a nice spiciness. We also ordered the Cuban sandwich and the gyro. I thought the Cuban sandwich was a little dry, but the gyro was decent. The tzatziki sauce on the gyro was good. Definitely upgrade to beer battered fries with your sandwich because they are really good, especially in their homemade ranch. This is one of the only non-chain restaurants in monroeville, so we go here often. It's not mind blowing, but any time we come here we leave satisfied having eaten good bar food. read more
