Great restaurant. We were seated quickly, food came out piping hot! Nice atmosphere. I did order soup that came out after my salad. Otherwise nice place to eat and enjoy time with friends

1st time visit. Went for lunch at 11:30am. Surprised to see they serve breakfast until 12:00. Amazing selection of breakfast. Place was busy and only 2 seats remained at bar, but a few tables around the bar were empty. Nice atmosphere, very cozy & comfy. Decided to drink for 30 minutes until lunch menu was served. Very quick, fast and bar tender was very informative, attentive. Nice and clean. Food was even better. They use Mancini bread which is a WIN for me! 2 lunch plates and 5 adult beverages for about $50 is perfect for us! One of our new favorite places to visit in the Wexford area!

They have a super nice outdoor tent with huge seating area that is just perfect on a nice summer night. Our waitress was absolutely terrific although the poor girl ran her butt off trying to get food and drinks back and forth from the main building. They need to think about setting up an iced tea/water station outside so she can pour and serve those at least. And maybe some cutlery and napkins in an outside storage area or something. Thankfully she was young and fit. LOL! We heard they had good wings so we got an order of those and they were very, very good. Perfectly crispy and the sauces were just right. I would order those again in a heartbeat. The Primanti's style sandwich was less successful but filling. I don't think I'd order that again. It was just dry and not enough meat or cheese on it. They have plenty of parking which is nice too. We would try this place again. There were quite a few large parties sitting outside too which is nice.

Great quick dinner. Had Lobster roll comes with fries but I subbed the mashed potatoes also comes with slaw. The slaw is the vinegar kind not what I like. The lobster came on thick garlic bread. It was very tasty. Others with us had the Reuben , The Pittsburger, and the Gourmet Burger. They did forget our appetizer but we didn't miss it. There was plenty of food. They all had fries with their meals. Never had a bad meal here. And our waitress was taking care of everyone and not missing a beat except the appetizer ( She didn't write it down. And we ordered our meal at the same time. She was going to go put the app order in then come back but we wanted to save her some walking) We seated ourselves under the tent . Parking lot has lots of spaces.

1st off, it has a nice big parking lot, and this place is a bit off the beaten path. It has welcoming decor with a clean old school feel. We were greeted and ordered long islands. All the prices looked reasonable. While the bar tender was not as upbeat as most bartenders, the long islands were made without a mix and tasted great... a bar tender thay actually knows what they are doing, hard to find any more. I'll take a non chatty bartender who knows what she's doing any day over most. Loved the Pittsburgh coleslaw. l ordered the lobster roll, and it did not disappoint with butter and garlic and chunks of lobster. I think we finally found our new local new place. Can't wait to go back.

Examples of menu items are appetizers (e.g., shrimp cocktail and nachos), soups, salads, wings, burgers, flatbreads, entrees (e.g., pasta primavera, chicken, duck, pork chop, swordfish, and A-5 wagyu), desserts (e.g., limoncello and cheesecake), and drinks (e.g., mocktails, cocktails, wines, whiskeys, and beers). My husband and I have eaten here twice--once for lunch last year and once for dinner this year. Both times, we enjoyed the employees' service and the foods. Here are my ratings for what we ate: Passionfruit-Paloma Mocktail - 4 stars - sour. Spring Sangria - 4.5 stars - slightly fruity. Jumbo Pretzel - 5 stars - huge size with beer cheese and mustard sauce. French Onion Soup - 5 stars - This soup had a rich broth, onions, and cheese. Ybor Cuban sandwich - 4.5 stars - nicely crunchy toast with tasty pork, ham, and Swiss cheese and a side of crispy onion rings. Salmon - 5 stars - I ordered this entree both times. The salmon was perfectly cooked and came with flavorful farro grains, cherry tomatoes, and asparagus. Filet Mignon - 5 stars - This 8-ounce steak was cooked mid-rare as my husband prefers. It came with whipped potatoes and his choice of au poivre style (black pepper crusted with bourbon cream).

Owned by longtime locals John and Melanie Dober, it positions itself as a warm, community-focused spot blending upscale comfort food with a welcoming vibe--think handcrafted sandwiches, premium Black Angus steaks, fresh seafood, flatbreads, and daily specials, all with thoughtful wine and bourbon selections. We were excited for what promised to be a polished neighborhood gem, and in many ways, it delivered. The food was genuinely great and the clear highlight. Our dishes were flavorful, well-executed, and creative without being fussy--fresh ingredients shone through, portions were generous, and everything arrived hot and beautifully plated. It's easy to see why so many reviewers rave about the crab cakes, steaks, and chef specials; the kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. This is elevated American fare that feels special yet approachable, and we'd happily return just for the meals. That said, a few aspects fell short and left us feeling the overall experience wasn't quite as seamless as the food deserved. First and foremost, the billing transparency issue was disappointing. They add a 3% bank/credit card processing fee to the check (which adds up quickly on a family dinner), but this isn't disclosed on the menu, at the table, or in any obvious way during the ordering process. There's only a small sign posted outside the restaurant. We only noticed it when the bill arrived, and it felt like an afterthought rather than a clear policy. In an era where many restaurants are upfront about surcharges (or absorb them), this lack of disclosure came across as sneaky and detracted from the otherwise positive value perception. The atmosphere was another mixed bag. The space itself is attractive--soft lighting, comfortable seating, and that friendly "upscale brew pub" energy the owners aim for. However, it was noticeably noisy during our evening visit. Conversations required raised voices, especially as the dining room filled up, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the meal fully. OpenTable rates the noise as "moderate," but on our night it tipped louder than that, possibly due to the layout or lack of sufficient sound absorption. A bit more attention to acoustics could make a big difference. Service was mostly attentive and efficient, but the management interaction stood out in a negative way. When we politely mentioned the surprise fee at the end of the meal, the response was an apology that felt scripted and insincere--like it had been delivered many times before without real follow-through or ownership. It didn't leave us feeling heard or valued as guests. On a brighter note, the owners John and Melanie genuinely come across as lovely people. The restaurant has that personal, homegrown touch you can sense even when they're not physically present, and locals speak highly of them. They were absent during our nighttime visit, though, which is understandable for owners juggling a busy operation--but their warmth is missed when the front-of-house team is handling everything solo. In summary, Wexford Public excels where it matters most: the food is consistently excellent and worth the trip on its own. The family-owned charm and diverse menu make it a strong neighborhood choice for special occasions, casual dinners, or even happy hour in the cocktail bar. However, clearer communication about the credit card fee (ideally on the menu or bill upfront), better noise management, and more authentic handling of guest concerns would elevate it from very good to outstanding. We'll likely go back for the cuisine, but with tempered expectations on the finer details. If you're in the Wexford area and prioritize great American plates, it's still a solid recommendation--just check the small print before you pay.

The service during our first visit was prompt, while the service during our second visit was a bit slower but always courteous. Here are my husband's and my ratings for our foods across both visits: Bread - 4.5 stars - This bread was free, and it came with olive oil. It was fresh and tasted good. Strawberry salad - 4.5 stars - The mixed greens, strawberries, pecans, and goat cheese were fresh and tasted very good. I liked that the right amount of vinaigrette dressing was added. Soup of the day - 4 stars - The soup was cream of mushroom. I received a large cup of it, and I liked it. Dynamite shrimp - 4.5 stars - My husband said that this appetizer was his favorite food here. A large number of fried shrimps were coated in a slightly spicy sauce. Tuna poke - 3.5 stars - The tuna, avocado, and mango tasted plain, so we added much salt. The wonton chips look slightly burned. Jumbo lump crab cake dinner - 4.5 stars - This entree contained one large crab cake that was very meaty and flavorful (5 stars). On the side was asparagus (4.5 stars) and rice (4 stars). Filet mignon - 4.5 stars - My husband ordered this filet mignon twice. The chef cooked the first steak as my husband had requested, but the second steak was slightly overcooked. Nonetheless, he enjoyed the flavors of the steak and the sides of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans with the right amount of butter and pepper. Chilean sea bass - 3.5 stars - The fish was tender and came with pineapple fried rice and Asian slaw. Other important information: The dress code appears to be smart-casual. For our meals, the hostess and waitress promptly and politely served us. Here are my reviews for the foods: Pretzel bites - 4.5 stars - This appetizer was a large size. We really liked the flavor of the pretzels and the honey-mustard dip. We thought that the cheese dip was OK. Pulled-pork nachos - 5 stars - This appetizer of nachos was huge! Many tortilla chips were topped with gooey cheese, pulled pork, jalapeños, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Fried deviled eggs - 4 stars - The egg white was breaded and fried. It contained a yolk filling and was topped with a spicy jalapeño. We prefer traditional deviled eggs, but these ones tasted good. Mix-and-match soft tacos - 4.5 stars - The pulled-pork taco contained pulled pork and vegetable toppings that were very flavorful. For the brisket taco, I enjoyed the flavor of the brisket and toppings, but the juices made the tortilla soggy and caused it to fall apart. Shrimp tacos - 4.5 stars - These were on sale on a Thursday. The shrimp were breaded, and the toppings of napa slaw, mango salsa, and chipotle aioli tasted very good. Meat entrees - 4.5 stars - My husband liked the smoked chicken the most (5 stars), and he described it as being "delicious." We also ate ribs (4.5 stars), kielbasa (4 stars), brisket (5 stars), salmon (4 stars, needs more seasoning), and pulled pork (4.5 stars). Macaroni and cheese - 5 stars - My husband said that this macaroni was the cheesiest thing that he has ever eaten. He described it as "delicious." I ate some of the macaroni, and I agree that it was extremely cheesy. French fries - 5 stars - These fries were perfectly crispy and salty. Grilled vegetables - 4.5 stars - I wanted to make my meals more nutritious, so I chose a side of grilled vegetables, which are seasonal and included peppers, corn, squash, and zucchini. This mix of veggies had a very good flavor. Side salad - 4 stars - This salad contained a lettuce mix, some tomatoes, some pickled onions, and my choice of dressing. It was fresh but was slightly plain. Pork 'n beans - 3 stars - My husband ordered this side. He ate only a small amount of the beans and sauce, and he thought that they tasted just OK. For drinks, we had iced tea, diet Pepsi, and water. The waitresses brought refills.
