It was the worse experience but it definitely wasn't the best. We were seated right away which is a plus when you're dining with the small child. It took a while to put our order in and then a while for us to receive our food. When my grandson's food came the fries were burnt so we had to place a new order. Our server came back maybe once to see if we needed refills at the point we were pretty much done eating. My meal was good though. It was just a slow day of service.

I came in with my four kids for dinner tonight. My wife was out with friends so it was just me and the kids. It was my first time ever bringing them here but I knew that they would like it. And they did! They got a mix of breakfast and dinner and everything was great. We even got the cinnamon appetizer things, the kids loved that! I got some kind of chicken with avocado on top that was really good. The restrooms were also clean and our server checked on us often. We will definitely come back with our mama next time!

Went here because I wanted breakfast for dinner. Waited a little to be seated because the guy at the register checking out a customer was also the host seating people. It wasn't busy. Parking lot was empty so I wasn't even sure if they were open for dining in. After being seated, our server was quick to come to our table. She was really friendly & nice. Kayaalynn (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) was in training, but you couldn't tell. I wouldn't have known had she not told us. I'd definitely ask to be seated at one of her tables next time we might stop in there. Food was okay. Kiddo got The Whole Hog because it had a lot of meat - 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausage patties, 2 sausage links, and ham PLUS 2 eggs, a slice of French toast, a pancake, AND hash browns. Needless to say, she didn't eat it all, but she polished off quite a bit of it. She might have eaten the sausage patties had she not found hair on them. I got the Build Your Own Omelet with cheddar and provolone cheese. It was kind of weird how they made it. I would have expected (and preferred) both cheeses be on the inside of the omelet, but they just slapped two slices of provolone on the top of it. Slices take longer to melt than shredded, so that didn't work for me. Luckily, since it wasn't melted, I could open the omelet up & place the slices inside it where they belonged. But the omelet seemed kind of flavorless, so I was taking each bite with a scoop of hash browns to try & flavor it up. It didn't really work. The biscuits were good, but I would have preferred more strawberry jam. They used to have it on the table, but not anymore. It was an okay meal, but not anything to go out of your way for. The service was excellent, though.

    Alleged side order of fruit.

This is a side order of fruit sold to us for pick up at lunchtime, May 14, 2021. Really, you can do better.

We've gotten there 3 times now for their catering service and was impressed each time. The food was hot and fresh each time. Portions were good size. All the meat was cooked great! There choices includes ribs, ( of course ) Pulled pork, chicken, brisket, turkey, sausage, burgers and salmon. There are a wide variety of sauces for every palate. Some mild and some spicy but all the ones I've tried are tasty. The sides were also very good! Mac and cheese and bacon green beans were my favorites but other sides include baked beans, French fries, collard greens, cold slaw and a couple seasonal items. The prices are decent but I was impressed with their commitment to veterans charities. I'll pay more to help those who serve our country! Separate entrance to avoid being stuck in the line. And quick service with still the excellence of opening your containers to confirm your satisfaction and hook you up with your sauce of choice. First impression was that the color scheme, decorations, and menu all seemed to be dated and uninspired. The staff were polite and attentive. I ordered the salad and Salmon Oscar. The salad was good and the blue cheese dressing I chose was house-made. It was good. My girlfriend got the wedge salad which I think was a bit expensive since it was a $6 up charge for a wedge of iceberg lettuce from the standard salad that came with the entrees. My Salmon Oscar with asparagus was very good. I enjoyed every bite of the salmon and crab. My daughter's chicken parm came with a ton of linguini. My girlfriend got the signature crab cakes which she said were mostly crab and not filler. So while I thought the menu was dated when reading it the food was well executed.

My wedding soup and my husband's French onion soup were delicious. The wedding soup was loaded with meatballs and chicken. My husband has a thing for French onion soup and tries it every chance he gets. He said this may have been the best ever. We split a Reuben sandwich and upgraded to onion rings. The waitress brought us each a half portion so we didn't have to divide it ourselves, which was nice. There was plenty of meat on the sandwich, making it acceptable, not great but good enough. Onion rings were very good. Dessert sounded tempting, a cherry crème brûlée. It was okay, kind of like cherry jello with a sugar crust on top. A bit disappointing to say the least. Our waitress was on top of filling the water glasses and was very nice. Now for the bad news and why I'm only giving 3 stars. I went to the ladies room before eating and there was no hot water to wash my hands. I asked my husband if the men's room had hot water and he said no. We both let it run but it never got hot, not even warm. Then I noticed (after drinking several glasses of water unfortunately) that there was a crack in my water glass. I mentioned it to my husband and he said, "you should see the chips in the glass tabletop over her on my side". I get it that wear and tear happens, but these things should be caught before serving guests. And as far as the hot water...how do servers and kitchen workers properly clean their hands after using the toilet without hot water? So the food is fairly solid and reasonably priced. But be on the lookout for chipped glassware and table tops. And use your own hand sanitizer if you have it!

Got a Pinot noir wine and waters Starter=soup of the day: tomato w/ chickpea and chorizo- bold tomato flavor and lots of arugula in it. Not so much chorio but flavor was very good, not overly salty. 10/10 After the soup we put our nit-picking goggles on as we knew this was a pretty sophisticated meal. Daily special- pan seared mahi mahi with asparagus fennel kohlabi and arugula salad citrus buerre Blanc. Light citrus flavor is found thru the mahi mahi, its sauce and the salad. Very congruent. Asparagus was a neutral addition. Not flowing with or against the mahi. Fish was cooked well. Just lots of raw red onion on the salad was a little overpowering. 7/10 Red wine braised short rib- didn't ask how well done, so seems chefs choice. We have a preference towards med rare. This was cooked well done making it a tad tough-stringy. Mashed potatoes with some larger pieces of potato, but very neutral plain flavor, great with the beef sauce. Carrots cooked well, just neutral, natural flavor. Overall a very classic flavor combo that works.7/10. Would stop by again to try more dishes. Ps- when paying we noticed final bill to sign was more than first bill at table. When we asked why the difference we were told it's the credit card fee of $3. This was really the first time I've seen this at a restaurant, yet alone at a decent place like one. Would have been best for them to tell us this upfront.

Circling the small parking lot looking for your spot, reminiscing on the alumni sports team photos on the walls, and doing the twist in the entryway to navigate your way to your takeout, Gateway Grill is not much... but the food is usually fire!!! The pizza slices have big bubbling crusts with pepperoni so rustic cut that you will wonder if they accidentally gave you the whole piece... over and over again. Don't sleep on their meatball pizza. Because you will have basically full size meatballs for every slice... and they are delightful. We had family in and bought a large order - and we opted to try their sandwiches. The Chuck Roast sandwich and Turkey Rachel both sounded delicious... and Gateway Grill does have fresh smoked meats too! Takeout is a trip. In a full restaurant, you have to kinda stand in the way at the front counter and flag down someone to grab your order. But they definitely do a lot of to-go pizzas so you'll be able to handle it. Unfortunately, with their current to-go containers, the sandwiches ended up being sopping wet with condensation... the bottom toasted bread on both was basically dripping instead of crunchy. The fries had lost all texture too- air fryer to the rescue. I'd still recommend going - just stick to only pizza when ordering takeout until they find a way to ensure quality of other options.
