Have heard some bad reviews lately from friends and the emptiness of the lot was a bit concerning but we had zero complaints and left full and satisfied with both food and service. The farm decor is a nice touch for that farm fresh, home cooked, vibe. The omelets are a filling sized portion. I especially enjoy the Sausage Gravy & Biscuits. Arrived at 9am. The wait staff was at front counter. Told me to hold on to be seated. 7-10minutes later and three groups behind me. We were finally seated. Upon sitting we waited for a waitress, saw her wait on 2 other couples. Finally flagged a waitress down and asked if we can get drinks and order. She claimed I'm so sorry you are not in my section. I'll go get your waitress. It is now 9:44 the hostess seated another couple. Then a different waitress walked past us and the. Served the new table. I expected better from a famous breakfast restaurant. However, 2 over easy eggs were so undercooked that the whites were clear in parts. The 2 sausage patties were overcooked and burnt on one side. I've eaten here many times but honestly I'm writing because of the exceptional service the staff and manager performed. I ordered an Easter feast that met a very unfortunate end by the delivery driver, as it ended up all over my sidewalk. I ordered another at the drivers suggestion and was trying to figure out with the driver how to get the refund and ended up calling the store. They very promptly took my call and concerns to the manager who showed nothing but compassion. She gave me direction , listend to what we needed and they were able to very quickly get another order ready for me and process the refund. They were amazing in a very unexpected situation, on a holiday weekend, and I thank them so much. read more

It was the worse experience but it definitely wasn't the best. We were seated right away which is a plus when you're dining with the small child. It took a while to put our order in and then a while for us to receive our food. When my grandson's food came the fries were burnt so we had to place a new order. Bob Evans used to be a breakfast treat for us. It's been a while since we have been there and today, despite seeing a very empty parking lot these past few months (and thinking it had closed) we returned. Boy were we disappointed. Two of our favorites, country ham and fried mush are no longer on the menu. It took forever to get our COLD food despite the restaurant not being very busy. My husband was going to bring home a biscuit, gravy and sausage patty but our waitress disappeared so we never got a to go box. The bill of course was pricey (always a more expensive breakfast place but used to be worth it) despite our complaints about the state of our food. We will definitely never ever return. read more

I came in with my four kids for dinner tonight. My wife was out with friends so it was just me and the kids. It was my first time ever bringing them here but I knew that they would like it. And they did! They got a mix of breakfast and dinner and everything was great. We even got the cinnamon appetizer things, the kids loved that! I was downtown got online and ordered breakfast curbside after working a night-shift. I drove to Monroeville Bob Evans when I arrived I called in for my order to be brought out a girl/woman answered and said my food needed a few more minutes and would be brought out to me. I waited 33 minutes noone came out! I went in there were several individuals behind the area where you pay and I was ignored by all of them finally I was approached by someone before that I noticed my bag on the counter just sitting there getting cold everyone just walking past it noone bothered to bring it out. I called the manager and reported the situation. My young nephews wanted to go as they love their Mac and cheese. When we walked in, I noticed most of the tables were dirty, covered in crumbs. We ordered drinks, they were out of lemon, then she came back and said they were out of tea. She looked exhausted and I noticed later she was not only serving the tables but busing and cleaning all the tables. The food came and the sausage in my sausage and cheese omelette was burnt giving a burnt taste with every bite. When I noticed that my nephew wasn't eating much of his Mac and cheese I asked him why and he said it wasn't hot. I tasted it and he was right it was lukewarm at best. It was 8:30pm on a Saturday night and they closed at 9pm and were giving me the feeling that they wanted us out the door ASAP so didn't feel I could send anything back. Went here because I wanted breakfast for dinner. Waited a little to be seated because the guy at the register checking out a customer was also the host seating people. It wasn't busy. Parking lot was empty so I wasn't even sure if they were open for dining in. After being seated, our server was quick to come to our table. She was really friendly & nice. Kayaalynn (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) was in training, but you couldn't tell. I wouldn't have known had she not told us. I'd definitely ask to be seated at one of her tables next time we might stop in there. Food was okay. Kiddo got The Whole Hog because it had a lot of meat - 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausage patties, 2 sausage links, and ham PLUS 2 eggs, a slice of French toast, a pancake, AND hash browns. Needless to say, she didn't eat it all, but she polished off quite a bit of it. She might have eaten the sausage patties had she not found hair on them. I got the Build Your Own Omelet with cheddar and provolone cheese. It was kind of weird how they made it. I would have expected (and preferred) both cheeses be on the inside of the omelet, but they just slapped two slices of provolone on the top of it. Slices take longer to melt than shredded, so that didn't work for me. Luckily, since it wasn't melted, I could open the omelet up & place the slices inside it where they belonged. But the omelet seemed kind of flavorless, so I was taking each bite with a scoop of hash browns to try & flavor it up. It didn't really work. The biscuits were good, but I would have preferred more strawberry jam. They used to have it on the table, but not anymore. It was an okay meal, but not anything to go out of your way for. First red flag should have been that there were only about three cars in the parking lot at 6:30 in the evening. We were seated and ordered and then waited over an hour for our food. Had the half chicken cranberry walnut salad and half BLT. Delicious. The salad was larger than expected and filled with lots of good bits. And not just iceberg lettuce. Our server Jordan was so super kind and helpful. I am discovering that there isn't a whole lot of consistency regarding food preparation from one Bob Evans to another. Some locations do a better job with proper timing, accurate temperatures and presentation. There is, however, real consistency regarding the attention and friendly service they provide. Great server tonight. She was really busy with several tables and still kept a positive attitude. I ordered and pre-paid for the Holiday Hot Family Meal on November 13, 2022 for pickup at 1:30pm on Thanksgiving Day, November 24th. The total was $104.91, including the pre-paid tip. I arrived at 1:20pm but had to wait in the lobby until 3pm before my order was actually ready. The food wasn't even warm, as I had been promised and paid extra for. I was not alone. I estimate there were 20 other customers in my same circumstance. Some people waited more than 2 hours beyond the time they had been told their order would be ready. It is clear that Bob Evans simply took every order that came online, and didn't consider how many they could actually fill. This is a restaurant chain, they should be able to manage their orders. They should also refund the customers that were impacted (on Thanksgiving Day), since they didn't have the sense to do the math on the number of orders they took vs the number they could reasonably fill. Update: Bob Evans gave me a full refund. I've increased my rating to two stars because they took responsibility. read more

We have been to several around the Pittsburgh region and they are all very consistent in what you can expect. What's that: standard clean modern décor, good service and good breakfast for the money. They keep quality and price in check by not trying to be something pretentious that they are not. Look for just good old down home breakfast food. They might be slightly edging on an item or two toward the overstuffed waffles and such but I don't go for all that. I like the standard bearers of eggs over easy, sausage, home fries and pancakes. The food comes out fast and good. The coffee is decent and refilled when you want it. If I want to go extravagant I get the blueberry pancakes instead of plain. The menu contains many predefined breakfast combinations but everything I can think of also can be ordered ala carte. There are many 'low calorie' options, breakfast fruits and juices. But never forget the famous sausage gravy with biscuits. This combo can't be beat when you want to go bad. Did I say they have breakfast all day? Nice. read more

Yum, we had a great dinner here last night! We stopped by after heading to the craft show at the covention center. My family had all intentions on going to Denny's, but when we passed by this Bob Evans we changed our mine. Surprisingly, i believe this was my first time eating here. The other times we stopped by as a kid was for take out. Anyways, for dinner they have a great option of home-style meals that qualify for the 3 course dinner. The meals for example are Black Angus Steak, Sirloin, Country Fried Steak, Meatloaf, Blackened Whitefish, Pot Roast, Slow Cooked Chicken & Noodles over mashed potatoes and Turkey. They all came with a side that complimented the dish, but you could swap for any side. Also, for the 3 course option, you got to choose between soup or salad. There was also a lengthy list of desserts such as a variety of sundaes, cookie to go, scoop of ice cream, fruit cup or $1 more for a slice of pie. This option was so great and the total for all of that was $10.99. All of these meals are on the regular menu for about $8-10 so the extra for starter and dessert was great! Oh, you also get unlimited choice of biscuits or rolls. I ordered the blackened fish which came with a baked potato. The fish was not bad. It had sauteed veggies on top. I loved my baked potato and it's been a while since i've had one. The fish wasn't bad at all-- had a little spice to it. Bobby & my uncle both ordered the country fried steak w/ mashed potatoes and gravy. It looked tasty. Bobby didnt finish his and i tried it. Not bad but the gravy wasn't the best--- veryyyy salty. My grandma ordered the chicken & noodles over mashed potatoes. She said it was very good but filling and took over half home with her. The broccoli and cheese soup was tasty as well. This was the only Bob Evans I've ever been to...and I've only been once (and won't likely be rushing back), so I can't give you a regular's point-of-view, but Bob Evans falls in line with any of the big restaurant chains serving up cheap, filthy foods to the masses. It's basically a Denny's, IHOP, Eat-n-Park alternative, and is on-par with those. The food was perfectly fine, but if you care about what you put into your body, stay far away from the nutrition info! Seriously, the ice cream scoop-size of butter that they served with my French toast was absurd. Is it humanly possible to use that much butter on three little pieces of bread? I digress, though. If you're looking for a traditional, heavy breakfast, Bob Evans can fill that need. The staff at this location was nice, handling our friends' baby with the type of care that you'd expect from a family-focused eatery. The food came out quickly, and the quality was good for the price point, and we were out of there in no time, without ever feeling like we were being rushed along. We couldn't believe how cheap our meal was for a group of 4 adults, and for that price, it was easy to understand why the wait was out the door at lunch time. I ordered a Farmers breakfast with grits. While I was about to shake some salt on my grits and notice something black inside the shaker. It was a long strand of hair!! How did it get there?!?!?!? And so, I used the salt packets that came with my plasticware. My grits were cooked well and tasted great, and fresh made butter really increased the flavor.
