Beautiful outdoor covered patio and extensive menu of BBQ options!! We stopped for a weekend Brunch around 10:30 and the place was still completely empty! The hostess stand is a bit of a farce - the employees seemed to hope that people would just seat themselves. Even when we were greeted - they said to just pick your own seat anyway! The decor is pretty cool. I'm partial to the stacked wood for the smoker as you enter, but the rustic feel of everything made the vibe come alive. With the smoker right next to the patio, the wonderful smell of the barbecue permeated the entire restaurant. The brunch menu was just as extensive as their lunch/dinner menu. We grabbed two coffees - which seems like a rarity - as they brought sugar and milk in little dipping sauce cups. The candied bacon was a MUST. 6 slices of thick cut bacon drizzled in brown sugar for only $6. Walter's Benedict with Pork Belly will stalk my dreams... the flavorful crust charred to the fork tender pork belly casually laying on the buttery, crispy chive biscuit smothered in the perfect hollandaise is the brunch you dream of but never really comprehend. Brisket Hash was unfortunately a nightmare though. The menu doesn't inform you that the brisket will be chip chopped into fine dust and coated in hot sauce. It was so spicy that it was almost inedible and the 1/4" of oil under the potatoes and eggs proved that even the hot sauce felt like crying. In all, the amazing waitresses and cool setting outweigh the one menu issue! We will be back!

Lovely place, food wasn't a great execution. Everything is good on paper and looks good but the flavor is not there. Definitely a good place to hang with friends and have a few drinks and maybe play some games. Great service!

First time dining at Walter's. Decided to go with the fried chicken sandwich and a side of potato salad. Sandwich was good. Would have greatly benefited from more sauce. Probably wouldn't order again as I'd definitely prefer one of their bbq sandwiches over this. Potato salad was pretty standard. Also tried some brisket and pork belly. Both were tasty. Really enjoyed their bbq sauce as well. Overall, nice lil spot. Beers were cold. Food was decent. Our waitresses were great as well. Wouldn't mind coming back for some more bbq soon.

What a great spot for lunch on a gorgeous November day! Our group of 13 was served well. The candied bacon was a treat and so good! I had the lunchbox special with pulled pork, Brussels sprouts, Mac & cheese, and cornbread. I give it all two thumbs up. Servers were attentive and did a great job with our group. Looking forward to going back!

Amazing service. As a now Texan, the bbq is pretty decent for an east coast bbq, though I've had better in PA. The guys did forget to give us some sausage from our order, but the server was nice enough to help us out. Brisket queso fries were great. They use battered fries! The candied bacon was my favorite. The sides could've been better.

Walter's is easily one of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh. The brisket queso fries are my go-to every single time, and they never miss. The vibe is always chill and welcoming, and I love that I can bring my puppy without any issues. It's a great weeknight hangout and a fun late-night spot on the weekends. The drinks are a bit pricey, but the quality and atmosphere make it worth it. If you're looking for good food, good energy, and great service. Highly recommend.

There aren't many vegetarian options here. I understand that Southern food isn't vegetarian friendly, but it would be nice to have the option to customize some of the meals with plant-based proteins. I had the bowl, that's displayed in the picture, and it wasn't very good. The rice to veggie ratio was not good and even the cilantro lime sauce didn't help with the flavor. I thankfully got a side of Mac and Cheese and that was the best part of the meal. The beer was pretty good though. The waiter was nice and super friendly though! The outside area is pretty nice even in the cold months as there are heaters to keep you warm. Not sure if I'd come back for the food, but maybe for a casual drink.

Back again with another Walter's review. My friend and I recently met up at Walter's for one of their Tuesday movie nights. The service was much better than the last time I visited. We found a seat outside. Food and drink ordering is still available via QR code, which makes it easy. They had a few food and drink specials for the movie night, so I ordered a soft pretzel (which came with their delicious queso) and a tequila cocktail. Our items came out quick. The movie night was okay. The volume was not up so it made it very hard to hear the movie. There were also people playing games right in front of us so it made it hard to see the movie. Besides that, the vibes are always great at Walter's.

    Great salad with balsamic vinaigrette...

First time here. We had the big salad with brisket and chopped brisket sandwich with mustard potato salad. Our waitress Jada was excellent and had no issues asking the kitchen a couple of allergy related questions. I thought the portions were great and the prices were fair! So many table games available and tomorrow is movie nite, they're playing Top Gun Maverick.

Walter's is the spot to go for their happy hour deals and patio vibes. I love how kid and dog friendly this place is. It can get a bit hectic during busy hours and the wait for food can be long. The happy hour tacos are only $2 each which is a steal! The pork belly and brisket tacos are fantastic. Come early if you want to claim a large outdoor table or else you may have to wait a while.

We went to Walter's for a dinner and they had a variety of options to choose from. The service was quick and not bad. The restaurant itself was warm and fairly large with plenty of TVs to watch. They even had an outside seating area for when the weather is warmer. The food came out hot and it was pretty good!

Now, I am going to take you on a journey just like the books Belle read so strap in. We had a 5:45 PM reservation, and even arrived a few minutes early. The hostess/employee (I don't want to assume positions) took me upstairs for a table right by the window, which will be an awesome view when the construction finishes. It was also a beautiful sight of that part of the city as-is. When I was seated, I was one of a few tables seated. It was not full or even busy at that time. Also, as we were seated, we were given waters. My friend joined me about 5-7 minutes after the reservation time. We then ordered our drinks at about 6:00/6:05 PM. From there, we waited and did not meet our waiter, who will be referred to as sweet baby angel Max from here on out, until about 6:20 PM. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees at around this time. Our orders had some modifications but nothing major. By this time, many more tables were seated upstairs and others seemingly received their alcoholic drinks and even appetizers by the time we received only our drinks around 6:30-6:40. Our drinks were big, too, which is great, but that also meant we had to drink them a little more quickly due to the time constraints with the show. We were enjoying ourselves but noticed multiple more tables receiving not only their drinks and apps but also their entrees. Once 6:55 came, we had to tell sweet baby angel Max about our predicament. I will be honest and say we suggested for our drinks to be comped at least - not only for the wait and lack of courtesy with everyone else receiving their items before us despite our arrival and reservation time, but for the fact that we would have maybe 15 minutes to eat, finish our drinks, pay, take our food back to our cars, and make curtain time. What sweet baby angel Max did next flabbered our gasts -- he said not only will our drinks be comped but our whole meal will be comped. He also helped pack our food and kept it in the back so we didn't have to worry about going back to our cars. We made sure to tip him with all we had! We are so glad we did because when we returned after the show, he had the kitchen remake the food and kept it warm for us. When you go to The Eagle, ask for sweet baby angel Max and you will not be disappointed with him, the service, or the food. Because even when they may mess up? The Eagle gets it right with their classy attitude and positive treatment of their customers. You definitely have multiple return customers just from this encounter. Thank you!!!

The fried chicken was solid but not amazing, all of the sides were good but not great, our food came out all at different times, and one of the sides I ordered never arrived, only to be told later they didn't have It in house anyways. I wanted to love the Eagle. I liked It! I'm just not sure I liked It enough to return.

That it was takeout only presented a dilemma for me, as I was just visiting the North Side for the day by bus and foot, and had no place to take my order. Of the two people behind the counter, one could not have cared less about my dilemma, but the other was of some help with this and my order. I wound up walking two blocks downhill to a park with benches. Second, that all orders are cooked to order and take 25 minutes. Fortunately there is a branch of the Pittsburgh Public Library across the street and it was open, so that occupied my time. The food: the chicken and catfish are fried in light crispy breading, very fine. The chicken wingettes were delicious. The catfish was not easily flaked and was ever so slightly rubbery, which would have been a very bad sign if it had been any more so. But it wasn't too bad. Green beans are a good side dish at this sort of joint, and these were good, seasoned with meat and sautéed onions mixed in. The white rice was entirely plain but tasty.
