4.5 stars. Nick's on Hilltop is a local, family-owned restaurant that serves breakfast/brunch, lunch, and dinner. Examples of menu items are chicken and waffles, grits, sandwiches, salads, loaded fries, and wings. I was a customer here once for takeout. The restaurant has two floors--the first floor with a gorgeous library, which I think would be a great spot for kids to study and adults to work, and the second floor with a bar and party space for private events. One of the owners promptly greeted me, took my order and payment, and made pleasant conversation while I waited for my foods to be cooked. She showed me the cool lit-up selfie spot near the bathroom mirror and door. I ordered the Troomy Chicken Club (grilled chicken tenders, bacon, troomy sauce, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, and onion) with a side of Loaded Fries and also six Whole Wings with my chosen flavor of parmesan. All three foods were very fresh and tasty very good, but I would recommend adding a bit more parmesan to the wings. read more

Nick's on Hilltop in Mt. Oliver is such a cure neighborhood spot! They have a dining space downstairs, bar upstairs, and all the warm, welcoming vibes!!! Their fall cocktail list was incredible -- I tried the Pumpkin Spice Martini, Hilltop Harvest Sangria, both full of great flavor! They're known for their famous Troomy Sauce, so of course I had to try a few dishes featuring it! The pickle chips with Troomy sauce were perfectly crisp and flavorful, and the loaded fries were a perfect shareable appetizer. The Honey Nut Bacon Salad was another standout -- light, fresh, and full of flavor! read more

Everything about this spot is amazing...from the entry way to the bar area. The space is so tranquil that you immediately relax. The decor is calming and fabulous. Spacious enough for group gatherings and flexible enough for an intimate setting. On the 3rd level they also have an event space. I tried the Mushroom burger and it was a seasoned to perfection. The waffle fries were just right, and the pineapple mint lemonade was a sure hit. The bonus for me as an avid reader was the FREE library that aligns the left side of the restaurant walls. The servers were attentive & helpful with menu recommendations. Overall, the place is a complete vibe and I'll be sure to visit again on a Sunday for their famous brunch! read more

Great neighborhood establishment that caters to kids during the day (think: after-school hang out with books to borrow) and adults at night. Downstairs is the restaurant seating,and upstairs is a bar, although I didn't get to see it because a party was happening. There are multiple menus online, so you may need to wait until you arrive to see what is available. We tried the steak fries (a whole meal), the hoagie, mushroom burger, and chicken fingers. While the entrees were fine, the sides stole the show (Ceasar salad and flavored fries). We did not try any alcoholic drinks this time. Service was slow, especially after our food came, and we had to ask for the check, because they were in no hurry to turn over the table. Beware GPS may take you to a location nearby (within walking distance--this was true for all 3 cars). You'll have to find street parking. Gender-neutral restroom. read more

Very cute spot located in Mt. Oliver. I went on a week day so it was pretty empty but very nicely designed. There is a dining area and then a bar upstairs. I ordered the Aloha Burger with chicken pepper fries. The food was absolutely delicious but it was a lot of food, I also ordered an adult beverage (the ginger lemonade) but I would recommend something else other than that. Stopped into Nick's on Hilltop in Mount Oliver while looking for a new dinner spot and had a great experience. I got the BLT and the troomy sauce on it was seriously delicious. I also tried the cauliflower bites to start, and they were really good too. I had a lemon drop, which was made really well super smooth and exactly what I wanted. The whole place has a cool, clean vibe, and the staff were really welcoming. Overall, just a great spot. I'll definitely be back! read more

Went for the first time tonight, and this place is a gem. First off, the vibe is perfect. The decor is gorgeous, it looks like custom light wood cabinetry floor to ceiling, gorgeous terrazzo floors that look to be original, and interesting & eclectic books and art on the shelves. Staff was welcoming and warm. The specialty cocktails looked interesting, just not my vibe....but they have a full bar so all good there. Would love to see some local beers added in the future. The menu is small and casual, mostly sandwiches, and the price point was refreshingly reasonable. The standouts were the wings, and the cauliflower bites. All I can say is wow- delicious! The wings were seasoned perfectly, and super hot and fresh. We actually ordered a 2nd round with dinner, they were that good. All in all, we really enjoyed this place, and will definitely make it one of our regular spots. read more

Went for dinner with another couple. We all agreed we will definitely be back. Very friendly and welcoming staff.... nicely decorated..... and the food was terrific. Wings were awesome....Cheese Steak was delicious and big. I hear they do brunch on weekends.... going to try that out too. read more

Stopped in at Nicks On Hilltop and I get why people like this spot. The place has a clean, modern vibe but still feels relaxed. The staff was welcoming and actually seemed happy to be there, which sets the tone right away. The food was the real star though -- I tried the wings and they were crisp, seasoned perfectly, and paired well with the dip. The menu has a nice variety, from birria tacos to pizzas, so it's easy to come with friends who all want different things. Portions were solid without being over the top. It feels like one of those places that could easily become a regular go-to in the neighborhood. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Good food as well as staff and the decor alone is so amazing. It's a great late night spot for those who get off at later hours
