We spent the weekend in Pittsburgh and loved this place so much we came back twice. The food was incredible both nights. First Night * SPAM MUSUBI - Rice and Spam wrapped in nori seaweed * Loco Moco - Smoked kalua pig topped with smoked gravy, a fried egg, scallions, nori, and toasted sesame Second Night * Creamy Cajun Pasta with Chicken - Fettuccini tossed in a house-made creamy Cajun sauce with fresh tomatoes, grated parmesan, and parsley. Medium spicy and full of flavor! * SPAM MUSUBI - Rice and Spam wrapped in nori seaweed * Wagyu Chili- House made hearty wagyu chili top with fresh diced white onion, sour cream, crispy onion, and chives.

A large group of us came around 7pm on Tuesday and were able to get a big table for all of us. There were a few stragglers who were able to grab extra chairs from the corner. I like how you just order via QR code at the table. It makes separate checks a breeze which is really helpful for a big group. Their menu for both food and drinks is quite extensive and it can be a little overwhelming trying to decide what to get. My spicy ramen came in a huge bowl and was really good. I also enjoyed my cherry blossom mocktail.

Highly recommend - great vibes, better food, craft beer, and fabulous cocktail and thoughtful mocktails Service was good - no complications no complaints. Good food and fun options!

City Kitchen is a great place for groups. There is plenty of seating, and so many options to choose from on the menu. My personal favorite is the Tom Kha Ramen. It is a little spicy but (not too much) and overall delicious. You can order from a QR code on the table for minimal interaction with the staff, although they do come around occasionally to make sure your food came out correctly, clear plates, and ask if you need a box. The drink options are extensive and they also have a decent selection of mocktails!

Great place. We were in town for a hockey tournament, staying at the suites next door. They have different cuisines represented here, and each one we sampled was a very good representation. After a couple of nights here, we realized that the play is to sit outside and order using the QR code and they just keep bringing the food and drink. Good beer list, quick service and a cool outdoor vibe. Wish we had one near us.

Love the idea of this place! There are 4 restaurants to choose from on this menu including Hawaiian, Japanese, Korean, and American foods. I've tried a dish from all of them, and they've all been delicious. You order online via a QR code and the food is delivered to your table. Service is extremely quick and servers are very attentive. It's especially nice that they have indoor seating as well as outdoor spaces where a live band can play and a garden room area.

The food, service, and ambiance was great. I was surprised how well the food tasted. The potato skins were a little bland but eatable.

City Kitchen is a great option if you're not quite sure what you're in the mood for, as their menu is extensive and covers just about everything one could be craving. My guest and I opted for some comforting, warm carbs in the cold weather. She went for some ramen, and I chose the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. Her food was brought out before mine, and she finished it just as mine was brought to the table, so needless to say, it was full of flavor, warmth, and comforting goodness on a cold day. I, however, didn't love my alfredo. I found that the sauce didn't have the richness or flavor that one expects to find in an alfredo sauce. The chicken was very juicy, though. I put in a request for a refill and a to-go box (all orders are placed via web), but neither were ever brought to our table so the service left something to be desired. Overall, I will continue to go back to City Kitchen. Though this time may not have been our best experience, the menu offerings change frequently enough that it is worth giving it more chances to shine.

Grilled cheese with pulled pork....it was ok.

We met up with some friends here for dinner. We loved the green space for kids to run around while the adults are food. Ordering is easy via the QR codes and service was pretty fast. I started with an order of potato skins as an appetizer to share, but ended up eating 3 of the 4 because they were pretty small. They were good, but felt pretty expensive. I had the pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich with a side salad . The salad was fresh and diverse but I wasn't a fan of the pulled pork. It was somewhat slimy with very little texture, almost like it was so tender there was no substance. Overall a decent experience though.

This was a happening place during the week! We came for dinner on Friday, and the outdoor vibe was so chill. Kids were playing on the lawn, adults were sitting at the tables with a DJ playing music. I got the Kalua bowl from Shaka. It was a good portion. I liked that they could do half greens and half rice. The pork though was a bit too salty and not quite what I expected for Kalua pork. Food came quickly and the staff were friendly and helpful. This is a good spot for groups and parties. Free garage parking is also a plus.

I've come here a few times more recently and had a much better experience. The service is pretty quick and all of the runners are friendly and helpful. They also sometimes have a host seating tables which may be helpful with managing the flow better. I still think some of their prices are outrageous ($6.50 for an IC Light is criminal!!!) but they do have good happy hour deals. I got potato skins from Charred the other night that were sooo good.

Came for brunch with a friend with our dogs. Staff was super friendly/ we shared the spicy ahi tuna bowl and the truffle chicken sandwich with a side salad. Both were delicious! It was a 90° day and the fans overhead helped us not feel overheated on the patio especially with the dogs. Great spot!

Chef Drew's consistency deserves its flowers because it's rare to find a place that delivers that level of care every time you walk through the doors. And no-I wasn't invited. I just genuinely believe in spending my own money at places I enjoy because that's what keeps this industry going around. The spots that make people feel something deserve people showing back up for them. The chicken parm will neverrrrr not get ordered at this point and I truly don't think I've ever left without a full belly and leftovers I was excited about later. Huge thank you as well for the duck dish and champagne that somehow made an already good night feel even better. Also starting a little series on the people I share meals with because food's always been tied to connection for me. This dinner was with Ashley ( @burghgourmetgirl ) -someone I met when I first started putting everything I had into content creation. She's quiet but confident in a way that makes people naturally gravitate toward her. And once you really get to know her, you won't stop laughing. She works hard, plays even harder, has seen more of the world than most people ever will, and somehow still stays one of the most genuine people I know. Pittsburgh's lucky to have her, but I have a feeling she leaves a little piece of herself everywhere she goes.

After fifteen minutes we had to leave our table to get the requested cream for our coffee. The Chicken Parm which was highly touted by previous reviews was certainly plate filling but the taste of the pomodoro sauce and cheese blend was a failure. Took half home but now wonder why. I guess because of the money I had invested in it. There are too many really great places to dine in western Pennsylvania. Suggest you find one of those. Note: "A 3% operating fee applied to all checks." Wouldn't it be better to increase your food prices to offset the rising costs of operations rather than to add this on without prior notice?

The pickled items are all done in house, and menu/kitchen are very thoughtful on how they execute. They do the pickling well, and they incorporate their ingredients into the dishes without making them feel unbalanced. Some specifics: Chicken fried pickles: Great ratio of batter to pickle. Generally, I think execution of pickled spears versus chips is fraught with peril. ButterJoint does these perfectly. These remain excellent and an unequivocal "get again" dish. Crispy chicken sandwich: chicken thighs done in one of the House brines, then battered and fried. This is a generous sandwich with two thighs. The batter is light and perfect and perfectly adherent. Kitchen cooked these pieces perfectly; no overdone portions. The tallow fries served as a side remain excellent, and the serving is very generous. "You can't eat just one." Pork belly sandwich: what a completely fun bite! Generous serving of pork belly, crispy on the outside and melting internally on a perfectly toasted roll. The condiments on this sandwich are perfect. The brunch burger is excellent. The egg is hard cooked so it doesn't come apart on the sandwich. M got the corned beef hash; the brisket on it is absolutely amazing, and there is a very nice grill on the potatoes. The poached egg on top is a complete delight. This is one of the better hashes that I have had. The falafel is fantastic. Well seasoned, perfectly cooked. The goat cheese crust with hot pepper jelly is an unexpected treat. Pickle shrimp are fun. The Mississippi comeback sauce is basically a remolade or maybe big Mac sauce. Would totally have again looking for a little cold shrimpy bite. We have never walked away disappointed by the menu or the kitchen. Good bar program, good draught list. Consistently gracious front of house team. Great for lunch or dinner, couples or families. Highly recommended.

Got to try their chicken sandwich and vinegar pie. The chicken sandwich came with a garlic sauce (toum) and fresh vegetables on their signature milk bread. Needless to say, the bun was amazing. The vinegar pie sounded super unique and intriguing so I gave that a shot. So glad I did! This is delicious. I can't even really describe it; there's a tiny note of acidity to it, but it's also super sweet. A nice little brown topping as well. It's just really good and you should try it. All in all, recommend this spot. The inside area we were sitting at was a little bleak but other than that, it is a nice place to be!

This was our first time back since they opened December 2024 and there's been so much growth since then! They've tightened up service and we thought the menu was more cohesive now. There is a hard start time as the tasting menu is done in a large group setting-serving everyone at once. So, we found ourselves wandering around the neighborhood and then standing in front of the door waiting for 6pm to strike, I felt like a creep. The area itself is an open floor plan so when they welcome you in, it's confusing to see the table we will be seated around but also see little stations for the canapés. Little awkward. We found a two-seater, and as a plus size woman I felt a bit cramped. My husband and I are both tall (5'11" and 6'3" so we were both fighting over who got the bench seat vs the little stool. There's always that awkwardness when you're looking around trying to figure out what the heck is about to happen and wondering..when is it time to EAT. We did 3 or 4 canapés which were all enjoyable-one that stands out to me had goat cheese and beets-yum! We are asked to take our seats at the large table and ...awkward again bc we are just kind of all looking around waiting. I have a sensitivity to alcohol so I did the N.A. pairing and I didn't feel like I missed out on much. The sommelier did a great job at explaining the notes and why each pairing happened. I really enjoyed the tasting menu. The chef kept us abreast of what we were trying and looped in other accompanying staff which gave us some of their backstory which was nice. I love that the restaurant has an urban garden and tries to reduce waste-that's so important. Minus 1 star because of the clunkiness of the bench area vs the large table where we ate and the cost. $275/pp plus tip isn't something that many can swing in a blue collar city.
