    Seared Rare Tuna
    Mike L.

We booked our anniversary dinner at Soba, and they did not disappoint. We had a great table close to the opening with fresh air and seats to see the dining area and bar. Our server was very sweet and helped us around the menu. We started with the spicy tuna roll and dumplings. The dumplings tasted fresh. The spicy tuna rolls was huge and could almost be your whole meal. The rare tuna had a nice char on the sesame crust. The branzino was served in a delicious panang curry. We left very full. It was an anniversary dinner we won't forget. If you're coming in, note that they do change their menu seasonally. But worth stopping in. It's a nice change of pace from being in downtown.

Well this was my first time and it did not disappoint! We got lucky and got street parking very close by - the restaurant was not very crowded tonight - but mad e reservation just in case (highly recommended). We started with the crispy tofu and kimchi pancakes - while I don't eat tofu on a regular basis - I have to say theirs was sooo good! I also tried the pad Thai - cam with chicken, tofu and shrimp and it did not disappoint! There was plenty of food and even had some to take home! Definitely looking forward to our next visit ...

    Chirashi bowl

Their presentation was good, but the food was meh: The tuna wasn't fresh and had ice crystals. I would not order a Chirashi bowl here. Too expensive and not the quality I was expecting.

We came to try it out for the first time. Appreciated free valet parking. Food was delicious and Skylar was an efficient and friendly server who was attentive and kept our water glasses filled. The restaurant started filling up.as we left around 6:30. The ambiance is romantic and a great place for a celebration.

I had a birthday dinner here for eight people. When I needed to adjust the reservation, the staff did a great job of responding promptly online via the OpenTable app. The ambiance is on the darker side and cozy inside. The food is pan-Asian fare and it's pretty good for what it is. The Korean style red snapper was delicious and came with pork belly and rice cakes. I sampled all of my friend's other dishes and they were pretty good as well. I enjoyed our desserts and would get them again!

    Shitake Mushroom Spring Roll (4.25/5)
    Ryan S.

I got the Shitake Mushroom Spring Roll (4.25/5) and the Hong Kong chicken with walnuts (4/5). The spring roll was nice and crispy, and the sauce added a nice little spice to it. The chicken and mushrooms were good, but I thought there was too much sauce, but I am also not a big fan of sauce in general. We went late on a Monday night, so it was not busy. However, the service was still super slow; it took us almost an hour to get our food (2/5), and they accidentally brought us the check before our food. This was our second time, and it was still good, but not as good as the first, especially the service.

    Soft Soft-Shell Crab

Beautiful restaurant, quiet atmosphere and dark mood lighting. Server was kind and wait staff was more serious. The soft shell crab dish I got was incredible - with lobster red curry and ginger fried rice. I did ask about spice level and they said it was spicy but that you couldn't request for lower spice, which is understandable. With that being said, I eat Thai curry often and this was much spicier than I anticipated, which did take away from the experience for me. It was a rich and flavorful dish.

Excellent menu. Usually quite good except for one off night. We have been several times. Their food is quite good. Their edamame is, for some reason way better than what you get at many other places. I do however ask them to go easy on the sea salt. The tuna tartare with taro chips was particularly good because the taro chips were great. I also liked the seared tuna large plate. Their serving sizes are quite generous. They also have dim sum and sushi but we did not try these.

Gorgeous restaurant with a water installation, cool rocks to set your chopsticks on, and dim lighting. The service was prompt and attentive. I asked our waiter if the portion size of chirashi was good and he said it's a good size and that they have carry out boxes if I don't finish. Tell me why this was the smallest chirashi I have ever seen anywhere. The slices of fish were thinner than the sliced ginger. If you stacked all of the slices, it would make a normal size of one piece of nigiri. The slice of tuna was so thin, you could see through it, much less taste it. I was still starving after and got the fried chicken nuggets which were a good portion, with good crunch. The sauce on the chicken was devoid of flavor except for the SALT. They were even able to take the chicken flavor away from the meat which is kind of an accomplishment in itself. My friend got the Sichuan pork dumplings and the dumplings were drowning in soy sauce so much so that you couldn't taste the Sichuan spice (if there was any). There's a sushi restaurant nearby that gives me food poisoning every time I eat there and I would have much rather have eaten there than Soba. I would definitely recommend this place to my enemies because they'll leave broke and still hungry.

Had a chance to try everything on the limited time New Year's 2026 menu at Soba. Everything was cooked in such detail. You can tell by every bite the chef and team really did an amazing job. Always a great time at Soba, can't wait to see what they have in store for their next limited time menu

Came to celebrate some birthdays the week of Christmas. Was shocked to find an empty dining room at 5:30 but it did fill up as the evening went on. Love the valet parking and friendly staff. Food was prepared quickly and accurately. I enjoyed my smash burger and tots, a fun fusion twist on an American classic. Overall a great experience and a lovely night.

    Chirashi Bowl

We came on a week night for dinner and they were packed by the time we left. I loved the ambience and decor of the place. It's great for getting together with friends. I tried the chirashi bowl. It had great presentation and flavors. However, the fish just weren't the best. They really should be the star in a chirashi bowl. They had a lot of other interesting items on the menu, so I would try something else next time. Service was friendly and prompt. It was also a plus that they had free valet parking. We had a great time here.

The online ordering experience was straightforward, and our takeout order was ready exactly when we expected it to be. Everything was nicely packaged. In terms of the food, it was fine. We had previously tried the salad roll as an appetizer, and went for the Took Took's roll this time. That worked well. The shrimp and crab meet is an interesting choice, but it was generally good. The tom yum soup was pretty spot on. The Pad Kra Paw and Pad Pak (both with vegetables rather than protein) were basically indistinguishable. Both good, but very similar. The Panang curry with tofu was good but was more tofu than vegetable. Not particularly noteworthy. One detail I'll note is that they allow for selecting a spiciness level for basically every dish, on a scale from zero to five. We went with a four, which is pretty standard for us. Turns out, that's very spicy at Took Took. That's what we ordered, but it's worth keeping in mind. Overall, this is a good destination. The food is nicely prepared. It's a good overall experience. It's just not at the top of my list for Thai food in Pittsburgh.

We didn't see much of the inside because we chose the option to enjoy our meal outside in the garden. Fortunately, we were able to snag a 5:30 PM reservation a couple Fridays ago. My friend set up notification alerts on Resy and a different party canceled their reservation the day before. This restaurant is very popular. KHAO YUM - 24 This is a 17 ingredient salad with tamarind dressing. I'm not usually a salad person, but this one was incredibly delicious and refreshing. Lots of crispy textures from the various vegetables, some juicy, tart and bitter pieces of grapefruit, and the crispy rice was the perfect fried carb on top. A bit pricy, but a great app to share for the whole table. CRISPY SHRIMP - 32 We were each able to get two pieces of shrimp among the four of us. The shrimp was batter and fried with a sweet garlicky glaze. While it was crispy and juicy, I thought it was a bit too saucy. It wasn't my favorite, but one of my friends really enjoyed the shrimp -- sauce and all. KHAO SOI - 48 The red and yellow curry was flavorful, and the egg noodles were perfectly soft with a bit of chew. The wagyu beef cheek was tender, but there wasn't much in it. Overall, I thought this was a bit too overpriced for what it was. MASSAMAN CURRY - 48 Incredibly phenomenal The massaman curry was incredibly rich with its sweet and savory flavor. Each order came with a whole lamb shank. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful -- it fell off the bone with ease. I highly recommend this entree for its delicious curry and lamb. Overall, pricy food with a elegant aesthetic. It's also more of fusion Thai food than it is authentic. Can definitely see why this is one of the more popular and well-loved restaurants in Pittsburgh!

I wouldn't really call this a supper club to be honest but the place definitely carries a house music bar vibe and the back bar area and seating is very dimly lit, perfect for cozying up and enjoying a drink late night. The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.

Later on in the evening, I also ordered the coconut curry stir fry with chicken. Definitely a hearty dish with great flavor and there are noodles in this.
