This is a wonderful, quaint, family owned restaurant. I really enjoyed their kimchi. I've had kimchi in a lot of Korean restaurants and Nak Won has by far the best I've tasted. We came on a 95 degree day and the naengmyun and bo ssam really hit the spot. I love how there are traditional dishes like mackerel and yellow croaker on the menu. Our food order came very quickly and the owner auntie was very sweet. This is where you come for a nice family meal. It does not feel like "restaurant food." We will definitely come back an again!

Probably the best, most authentic Korean food in Pittsburgh. The food came out super quick and it was all delicious. It's a small, cozy restaurant that was packed on a Friday night so get there early.

Wonderful time having lunch at Nakwon. Hot soup is perfect for these cold days! Since it was lunch time the restaurant was not crowded. We were able to be seated right away. Since it was a cold day I ordered the hot tea which was perfect. For my meal I got the yukgaejang soup. They brought out the meals and the banchan side dishes all together when they were ready. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a nice conversation with the staff while waiting for our food. There is street parking available which can be difficult to find a spot. Thankfully the restaurant is right next to a bus stop too. The restaurant is small and quaint. since it was not busy it didn't seem crowded or loud at all. Overall a great lunch experience! One of the best Korean restaurants in Pittsburgh.

Best Korean food in Pittsburgh! That's what I heard the table next to us say. The food was delicious and service was great. They're open until 9:00 which is nice for a later dinner. A hot cup of barley tea that you can wrap your hands around is the perfect way to start a meal when it's cold outside. We were promptly brought bon chan/ side dishes (napa cabbage kimchi, seasoned potatoes, bean sprouts, and broccoli/carrots. We started with the kimchi pajun (pancake) which also can be ordered as veggie or seafood. It was nice and crispy on both sides without being oily, and not too spicy - the perfect shareable to start. I was crazy dduk mandu guk (rice cake and potsticker soup with beef). It came out quickly, nice and hot. The mandu was so flavorful and I enjoyed the soup so much! It doesn't come with rice but you can order a side of it. My cousin ordered kimchi chigae / stew which was actually bubbling hot in the stone bowl as was my uncle's dish which was a spicy seafood dish with mussels, etc. A perfect family meal after a day of traveling. I would come back in a heartbeat!

Yum I love Korean food and I've heard good things about this place, despite the rating. And I'll be hyping it up from now on! It's a smaller place, packed tight and buzzing on a Saturday evening. There was a little bit of a wait, but we were seated within 15 mins. It took even less time for our food to come!!! We got japchae, hot stone bibimbap, and the star of the show: beef bulgogi. Your dishes come with Saam like kimchi and potatoes in a soy-like sauce. Everything came out extremely quickly. We didn't bring any alcohol, but a note that they are BYOB! It's a great place to go with a smaller group (6 or less given the table set-up), or on a date night. Sharing was a great idea and we had plenty of leftovers after too!

My family came here to celebrate Lunar New Year and we had quite the feast! I had been here a few years ago but for some reason, hadn't come back. Honestly, the food and prices were better than I remembered and they have a lot of dishes that the other Korean restaurants in town do not have. Of course we had to order the traditional New Years meal, ddukgook. It was served in a giant bowl and reminded me so much of my moms, which was exactly what I was hoping for. Other meal highlights: the scallion pancake was so crisp and full of vegetables. And PORK BELLY. My fave Korean meal, one that restaurants don't always have... and the meat here was exceptional. My husband got the pork bulgogi. These were both served to the table on sizzling hot plates, adding to the experience. At the end of the meal, we both commented about how we were full but wanted to keep eating because it was so good. Nice selection of banchan too, and the service was very friendly. Overall this is a great place to go if you are looking for traditional Korean food. I promise to not let years pass again before making it back here.

Great Restaurant Appetizer: Dumplings. They were large and plenty. You get 10 pieces and you get to choose to have them friend or steamed. I definitely recommend if you are splitting with someone and feeling hungry. Main: Hotpot had beef, octopus, tofu, noodles, veggies and a very delicious broth. The sides were good too. My favorite was kimchi. Staff: They were really nice and quick. The lady was very friendly. She was also nice ans waited for us to order for a while because we had an important phone call. Parking and ambiance: It was clean but nothing special. It was a little hard to park but manageable. I would definitely recommend!! Make sure you reserve a spot because it can get busy quickly.

Unlike some other hot pot places I've been to, this place only charges for one pot and not for the food you get. I ordered everything that was available and it was all better then the last. I would especially recommend the pork, it was delicious! I had 3 orders of it. As I mentioned before, the food is delicious! While I couldn't get a photo, there was also a sauce bar. You had the option to get a premade one or get your own. I chose to make a teriyaki sauce and it was amazing! Definitely recommend checking it out while waiting for food to arrive. The waiter was so nice, I didn't catch his name but rest assured all of the staff is so nice and kind! They are very informative and know what dishes are good and bad. Now for the part that is hardest to nail down, the restaurant ambiance. I normally don't write about ambiance because to describe an amazing place to someone with just a few words is hard to do, but I felt I had to do it for this one. The restaurant looks very authentic and it is clear that they respect the culture that they represent.

The galbi gui was very yummy and had a nice bbq flavor. I would say the portions are SMALL for the prices. I was very suprised when it came and the galbi was the side of my hand. The bowl for the tofu soup was also very small. For $26 and $18 respectively I thought it should be at least a little bigger. I honestly thought it was a cheaper lunch portion. My favorite though was the chuncheon spicy chicken with cheese and ramen - if you love spicy food you need to get this! I was so sweaty from eating this and I mean this in the most complimentary way. The only constructive criticism I have is that the chive pancake wasn't what I expected - i was thinking it was going to be a flat crispy pancake and it came out as a big roll essentially. Novo Asian Food Hall is a collection of Asian food, drinks, and desserts in the Strip District, specifically located in the Terminal building. There are individual restaurants and businesses serving their specific cuisine. There is a bar in the center of the floor, a non-alcoholic drink place, a bakery, and several restaurants. At the time of this visit, there were 4 different food stands, 1 tea/drink stand, 1 bakery stand, and the bar area. There is not specific designated parking for the Food Hall, but there is paid parking all around the Terminal building. Additionally, there are other options for street and paid lot parking throughout the Strip. There are several entrances to Novo - from the Terminal side on Smallman Street, from the back side of the building, and also a side entrance if you are already in the Terminal. The Food Hall is very large, and is easily identified with the signage. We stopped in on this night a little before 8 PM, and it was not too crowded. There were patrons for the restaurants and at the bar, but there were still plenty of seats all around the place. There are high and low top tables all around the dining room, and there is even bar seating in the center. You can sit wherever you please, as it is open seating. There are water pitchers and cups placed near the trash cans that are available for use by anyone in the Hall. On this trip, we purchased food from KungFu Chicken and Tan Vac Lien 2. Everything we had was good! It is nice to be able to mix and match different foods from the various stands to create a meal. I like to try new items from the different stands each time I visit the Food Hall. However, I have found some favorites that I find myself going back to each time (Fishcake Corn Dog!) The prices throughout Novo vary depending on which stand you are at. Some items can be a little pricy, but overall I believe the pricing is fair. A plus of being able to get such a variety of items is that you can share with a group, which may help to keep the cost manageable. Novo has good hours, but not all the stands are always all open at the same time. So, I would double check the place you wish to go will be open during your visit. Overall, I really like Novo Asian Food Hall, both conceptually and in practice. This has been a fun addition to the Strip, and I have enjoyed getting to try lots of different foods and cuisine during my visits. My only critique/note is that I hope that the vacancy of one of the stands can be filled quickly to add even more options and variety. I would recommend stopping here if you are looking for authentic Asian cuisine with a fun, social atmosphere. I look forward to trying even more of the options here during my future visits!

The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.
