The food is always so good, hot, and fresh even though I live about 20 minutes away. When you order any noodle soups, the staff will package the noodles, broth, and toppings all separately so nothing gets soggy. I have ordered the tan tan seafood ramen the last few times we've ordered from here, and I will probably order it again next time because it is so so good. I love their Tan Tan Men! Such a savory and addictively tangy broth! I always ask for extra spicy and the heat pairs so well with the ground meat topping and the springy noodles! It is "THE BEST" in town and is Tan Tan Men with Shrimp Thai 10+ hot(I have a high heat level and this is barely hot to me) added. If my wife is with me they do give us a menu, but her fave is Wonton Ramen and is really good. Order extra wontons and take home for later. Some dishes may contain nuts, but in the several times I've been here, the staff have been amazing at understanding allergies and customizing dishes where needed. In fact, this restaurant is phenomenal at handling customizations of any kind. In this beginning street to Squirrel Hill lies one of my favorite noodle places in the US. There is the occasional wait, but it is worth it. They also do delivery through Yelp, I believe, fulfilled by GrubHub. The Tan Tan Men Seafood Ramen was phenomenal - a perfect balance of light spice and salty, with generous amounts of seafood (5/5). The Shoyu Chashu ramen had a very generous portion of meat, with a very light broth (3.5/5). I would say that I have had more tender and flavorful Chashu elsewhere, but the portions were much better at Ramen Bar. My only dissatisfaction is that they occasionally run out of popular dishes, like their takoyaki. However, it's a small price to gamble for very reasonably priced ramen that was surprisingly rich and flavorful. read more

We stopped in on a Friday evening and we were able to snag one of the very few available tables left. This place is small but they fit as many tables as they can. First off, the tables are extremely close together that we were bumping into other people when we were getting up. We were rushed from the moment we sat down and after getting our food was ignored for the longest time. When tipping, I did not leave 20% but I didn't stiff her. My friend and I walked a few stores down when the WAITRESS followed us into a different store. She was yelling at me and asking me to tip her more. The place is quite small, but very cozy and nicely decorated. All seats are near the door, if you are visiting when it is cold out you will need an extra layer of clothing. Still, the food was very well made. Large portions, bold flavors and beautifully plated. I had the curry ramen. It wasn't as spicy as I like, but the heat was there, and I will dream of the creamy curry broth. We also enjoyed a ramen in shoyu broth, as well as their generous 6 piece takoyaki! It was all so good. I could not finish my bowl, but I did try! Did I mention large portions? The two of us had separate ramen bowls, and a shared appetizer. It came to under $40 before the tip. The waiter was very kind and knowledgeable. He brought me a small dish of red pepper paste (might have been Sambal Oelek) to add to my dish table side, to increase the heat level. I've had curry ramen and Hawaiian fried rice from here and every time I've come it's absolutely delicious. The inside vibe is pretty cool with a huge photo of shibuya crossing on the left wall. I've been here twice now. The first time was great and I highly recommend the Ajo Ramen! Delicious, rich brother with a nutty toasted garlic flavor. Second time, I was a little disappointed. We had the Karaage chicken, Vegetable Shoyu Ramen, and the Pork Udon. Don't get me wrong, the noodles and broth for both the ramen and udon were great but the toppings were lackluster. In our vegetable shoyu ramen, we found the butt, the root end, of a green onion. Rather unprofessional and off putting. The karaage chicken was okay. A little soggier than I would have liked it, so I didn't get the classic crispy crunch that I've come to expect with great karaage chicken. This is likely because the chicken pieces were quite big so the surface area and timing is difficult to balance. To cook the chicken fully they had to keep the chicken in the oil longer, making it soggy. Their sauce was good and they included a lime rather than a lemon which I also thought was interesting. The presentation of the toppings and the toppings themselves didn't really scream authenticity. There were no Asian mushrooms, the onions didn't melt in my mouth, the pork was simply boiled rather than marinaded and cooked on the side, and none of the classic boiled egg either. The food is definitely not bad. The service is great and efficient. I enjoyed the atmosphere and decorations. However the food was a little disappointing for Japanese ramen. Would recommend to try it out. However, I do think there are better options for authentic ramen for a similar price. read more
