Thai curry broth. A bit spicy.
Suzan H.

WOWZA! This place is so awesome! You start by ordering ANYTHING or EVERYTHING!! You can do just a pot or splurge for the BBQ and Pot. We did the BBQ and Pot option. Everyone at the table must agree to the choice, so talk it over first. You then head to the buffet for some "appetizers". What? Are you kidding? We needed to control our portions as we knew we had ordered a ton of food at the table. The appetizers included Ma Po Tofu, Szechuan chicken, spicy fried chicken, fried rice and more. Then there's the buffet of sauces and toppings. WOW-flavor galore! When we got back to our table our meal choices were already there. We each got out own broth for the bowl portion. We then started our cooking frenzy. We got beef (YUM), lamb (meh), veggies, (delicious), different mushrooms (fun), Odon noodles, ramen noodles, and fish and lobster balls. Spice levels are definitely real! If it says it's spicy-it is! You have two hours to heat and eat-ready...GO! Are you still hungry-go for it! They will bring you out more. Just be careful. They do charge for over-ordering as well as for take-out. Although we were stuffed!! We did pace ourselves and finished all we ordered. Then, you get fruit, cookies and ice cream for dessert. Trust me-don't eat for the whole day. Then, pace yourself. It was so good! The space was hopping too. So much to look at. So much going on. And the wait staff are very nice and helpful.

amazing food and staff, very helpful, taylor clear explained how to keep our utensils clean and what sauces to pair with our meats. thank for making our first time a great experience

Really fun place! All you can eat dinner for under 50 bucks! You really can't beat the price. If you've never been to a BBQ & Hot Pot, it can be really overwhelming and over stimulating. They brought all the food out at once and it was on a million plates. I wish they would have spaced out the meals or been a little more cognizant of the limited space. The hot pot was our favorite part. Service was pretty good for a very busy Saturday night. Fun place for a date night or a group outing!

I am so happy to have a AYCE hotpot and kbbq spot in the city than to travel to the suburbs. I highly recommend reservations or saving a spot in advance, because my walk in for a table of 4 for a Friday night was about an hour wait. Which is completely normal for a peak time for AYCE! Once seated, we walked through the different broth options for hotpot and after went to create our dipping sauces! The sauce station is after/down the line of the hot bar section and wow they had some amazing choices. The chicken wings with Sichuan/5 spice seasoning a highlight of my meal - I would seriously order these to go sometime. The sauce bar after has a ton of choices and some pre set recommendations which could be helpful for some first timers. All cuts of meat, seafood, and veggies were delicious and perfect. They even have a soft serve machine for dessert after and it was a great end to our meal. We walked out happy, full, and excited to visit again!

Great food, variety of food options. Appetizer bar and ice cream. The location of the burner controls is poorly situated. You have to scoot back your chair far back or lean heavily to the left or right to access and see what temperature you need. I saw waiters crouched down helping customers locate the controls. Service was okay, our waitress got more customers so it was awhile in between her stopping by. Got low on water and waited for the check.

Really cool and fun experience! I have only done KBBQ once in Chicago before but it was nothing like this We really enjoyed the huge variety of food! it was so fun and such a wild experience trying so many different fun foods. Tried some new to me meats! Sauces here were really nice too. Loved the chef's secret sauce. I did like the hot pot way better but both were still cool. Definitely a fun spot for a treat or for a group. Cocktails were good too Our server was phenomenal his name was Daniel "Dan the man who can!" hes the best!!

Great place! Will be coming back a lot! The meat exceed my expectations. I always think unlimited bbq meat is usually lower quality but was great quality here! The drinks were so yummy. I got the lychee margarita and that was omg. The service was also amazing. Our server was so attentive. There was some others that would also pass by to make sure everything was going good.

My friend and I checked this place out on a Saturday evening. We got there around 7 and we had about an hour-1.5 hour wait. I knocked off a star because I wish you could join a waitlist online as we just were waiting around outside. The weather was great so it wasn't a big deal but it would be annoying if it was freezing cold or raining. But I digress. Our experience at Top Pot & KBBQ was great! I'm a big fan of hot pot so I was excited to check this spot out. We only did hotpot on this visit. They have about 8 different broths to choose from. We were also told we could try another broth during our visit if we wanted. They have a great selection of meats, seafood, veggies, and noodles/dumplings etc to choose from. In addition to the food items you cook at the table, there's also a buffet bar with items like fruit, fried rice, curry, and crab Rangoon that is also included in the price. They also have a sauce bar (my favorite part of hot pot) that you can customize the type of sauce(s) you want to accompany your entree. Top Pot has coverings on the sauce bar which is a nice sanitary addition. They also have a bar that serves alcoholic drinks and bubble tea. Our waiter was super helpful and kind. Because it was so busy there, he didn't come over too often but it wasn't a big deal. They also have complimentary soft serve ice cream that you can get at the end of your meal (or at any part of your meal- no judgement lol). But overall, we had a great experience here. It's located in the Southside Works so there is ample parking around.

So much fun! Glad to finally stumble upon a place like this in Pittsburgh! Service was great, experience was superb, and ambience is fun too. So many ingredient options to choose from for the pots and bbq. Oh and did I mention how fun this place is!?? I will definitely be back to try more options.

Alexandra A.

One important thing to do before coming here: come with a super empty stomach All you can eat dining is always a fun time esp when you have the options for both kbbq and hot pot or either one. The menu had so much items across from hot pot vegetables, noodles, soup bases, and dumplings, to different types of meat in their kbbq section. I am a big fan of brisket and I never regret ordering it over and over again, and this place does well with serving a great portion each time. Their spicy pork belly was also impeccably seasoned well. The place is huge and there are many seatings but it can definitely get busy especially on the weekends and peak times. Expect for up to an hour wait, but it def helps with expanding your appetite so you can get the full experience lol.

I loved the futuristic lights and vibe inside and this is definitely a group activity so bring your friends. There's tons of seating and tables for big groups. I liked the hot appetizers bar in case you're hungry and can't wait a few minutes for them to bring out the things you ordered and the make your own sauce bar really makes this a customizable experience. We got SO many different meats, sides and veggies to share - do yourself a favor and get the beef bulgogi and the Szechuan hot spicy broth. Doing both hot pot and Korean BBQ is always chaotic fun and I'm thrilled that there's another great addition to the Pittsburgh food scene! Also pro tip: wear clothes you don't care about and put your hair up because you WILL smell like Korean bbq afterwards!

Kelly B.

The restaurant is really sleek and modern. The food was pretty good. The sauce station was a disaster because other diners were leaving huge messes behind. I didn't really get an all you can eat experience so that made me deduct stars. Our waiter seemed to go out of his way to avoid us so we couldn't order more meat. We were able to make our initial order and then he never asked us if we wanted anything else. I also have to make a note on the ladies restroom because it was SO dark in there, I could barely see. Personally, there are other hot pot places that I like better, but this one is ok.

Andrew B.

A decent hot pot experience. The building is beautiful inside and has a modern look. Service was just OK, I felt like I had to wave to get their attention just to get a refill. The food was high quality and very tasty. Make sure that you order everything you think you'll need the first time because getting additional items later took a while. They have a nice sauce bar where you can mix your own ingredients but it does get very messy depending on who is using it. Pork belly seemed a little too thick for my liking. I wish I could give this place 3.5 stars because its not bad at all and I would go again.

Unlike some other hot pot places I've been to, this place only charges for one pot and not for the food you get. I ordered everything that was available and it was all better then the last. I would especially recommend the pork, it was delicious! I had 3 orders of it. As I mentioned before, the food is delicious! While I couldn't get a photo, there was also a sauce bar. You had the option to get a premade one or get your own. I chose to make a teriyaki sauce and it was amazing! Definitely recommend checking it out while waiting for food to arrive. The waiter was so nice, I didn't catch his name but rest assured all of the staff is so nice and kind! They are very informative and know what dishes are good and bad. Now for the part that is hardest to nail down, the restaurant ambiance. I normally don't write about ambiance because to describe an amazing place to someone with just a few words is hard to do, but I felt I had to do it for this one. The restaurant looks very authentic and it is clear that they respect the culture that they represent.

The galbi gui was very yummy and had a nice bbq flavor. I would say the portions are SMALL for the prices. I was very suprised when it came and the galbi was the side of my hand. The bowl for the tofu soup was also very small. For $26 and $18 respectively I thought it should be at least a little bigger. I honestly thought it was a cheaper lunch portion. My favorite though was the chuncheon spicy chicken with cheese and ramen - if you love spicy food you need to get this! I was so sweaty from eating this and I mean this in the most complimentary way. The only constructive criticism I have is that the chive pancake wasn't what I expected - i was thinking it was going to be a flat crispy pancake and it came out as a big roll essentially. It still tasted good though. I can't wait to come back!!

From the moment I looked at the menu, my instincts told me this place would outshine many of the nearby Korean restaurants and I was right! We tried the seafood pancake, marinated kalbi(beef), tofu/seafood spicy stew, dolsot bibimbap w/chicken(mixed rice with vegetables in a clay pot), grilled mackerel, and pork bossam( lettuce wrap with braised pig's feet). Everything was absolutely delicious except for the bossam, which was a bit too fatty for our taste. Still, my family of five thoroughly enjoyed the experience of dining at this authentic Korean spot. Novo Asian Food Hall is a collection of Asian food, drinks, and desserts in the Strip District, specifically located in the Terminal building. There are individual restaurants and businesses serving their specific cuisine. There is a bar in the center of the floor, a non-alcoholic drink place, a bakery, and several restaurants. At the time of this visit, there were 4 different food stands, 1 tea/drink stand, 1 bakery stand, and the bar area. There is not specific designated parking for the Food Hall, but there is paid parking all around the Terminal building. Additionally, there are other options for street and paid lot parking throughout the Strip. There are several entrances to Novo - from the Terminal side on Smallman Street, from the back side of the building, and also a side entrance if you are already in the Terminal. The Food Hall is very large, and is easily identified with the signage. We stopped in on this night a little before 8 PM, and it was not too crowded. There were patrons for the restaurants and at the bar, but there were still plenty of seats all around the place. There are high and low top tables all around the dining room, and there is even bar seating in the center. You can sit wherever you please, as it is open seating. There are water pitchers and cups placed near the trash cans that are available for use by anyone in the Hall. On this trip, we purchased food from KungFu Chicken and Tan Vac Lien 2. Everything we had was good! It is nice to be able to mix and match different foods from the various stands to create a meal. I like to try new items from the different stands each time I visit the Food Hall. However, I have found some favorites that I find myself going back to each time (Fishcake Corn Dog!) The prices throughout Novo vary depending on which stand you are at. Some items can be a little pricy, but overall I believe the pricing is fair. A plus of being able to get such a variety of items is that you can share with a group, which may help to keep the cost manageable. Novo has good hours, but not all the stands are always all open at the same time. So, I would double check the place you wish to go will be open during your visit. Overall, I really like Novo Asian Food Hall, both conceptually and in practice. This has been a fun addition to the Strip, and I have enjoyed getting to try lots of different foods and cuisine during my visits. My only critique/note is that I hope that the vacancy of one of the stands can be filled quickly to add even more options and variety. I would recommend stopping here if you are looking for authentic Asian cuisine with a fun, social atmosphere. I look forward to trying even more of the options here during my future visits!

The ladies' room was so dark, I mistook it for a storage area because I could only make out a white ladder in the corner that was being used as cute shelving. The place is seat yourself. Our waiter was not super friendly and didn't offer to give us napkins or anything when our wobbly table caused our drinks to splash all over the place. The cook served our chicken with a big smile and happy interaction and we really loved his personality. The bartender also stopped by to bus our table and he was very pleasant as well. We enjoyed the perfectly fried small plate cauliflower with the plum sauce and the fried cheese/garlic wonton bites with the sriracha mayo spicy dipping sauce. The fried chicken breast on the large plate was slightly overcooked with a maple gochuchang sauce that was very bland. We were so thankful that the large plate fried chicken came with a side salad to offer some respite from the heaviness of the fried dishes. It would have been great to have some side acidic or fresh vegetable options like Kimchi or something. Maybe we tried the wrong dishes and there are other not fried things that are delicious? The dirty martini cocktail was just so-so, not really much flavor at all, but the mojito was very good and refreshing. It's probably a good late-night place for a bite and drink.
