Quick dinner with a friend and another great meal. Can't go wrong with the Combo A for the bbq and we also ordered the cumin chicken on the side. The cumin chicken, along with the bbq skewer seasoning is so fragrant it's such a unique taste that always leaves you wanting more. I always think their lamb and beef skewers are the best ones out of the selection they provide

A hidden gem tucked in Oakland. Skewers were absolutely delicious and the portions were also very generous. My friend and I overestimated ourselves and accidentally ordered too much. Service was pretty decent. It's a typical hole in a wall looking storefront but don't underestimate this place. They also do offer hotpot if you're not in the mood for skewers.

Located in Oakland, PF BBQ House has made a name for itself with its renowned meat skewers, and it's no surprise that most patrons flock to them. However, if you really want to experience something special, don't overlook the grilled fish--it's the true star of the menu. Yes, the grilled fish takes a bit longer to arrive, but trust me, the wait is worth it. This dish is a flavorful standout, with the option to add various side dishes to enhance the fish stew. It's a well-executed, delicious surprise that elevates the dining experience. Overall, PF BBQ House is a delightful find in the neighborhood, offering more than just excellent skewers. If you're up for an adventure beyond the popular skewers, the grilled fish is a must. The inside of the restaurant is very new.

Food was solid but you have to know what to expect with this type of Chinese BBQ. It's a lot heavier on salt and cumin and spice than KBBQ or japanese BBQ. Bring a native Chinese speaker with you as well or you're gonna have a hard time asking questions about menu items. Skewers are flavored well with lots of cumin and chili powder. Grilled fish was great as well. Looks like a hole in the wall but actually nice inside. Pro tip: Get their daily specials! My two favorite are half off the grilled fish on Mondays and free skewer if you buy a few on Tuesdays. Parking is mad hard to find on this one way street after school starts so plan to spend some time looking.

In Oakland, there's this unassuming house in a neighborhood that is actually a very spacious, clean, and authentic Chinese restaurant. We got vegetarian/pescatarian all you can eat hotpot which can only be done when you have 3 or more people which comes out to be ~$38/pp for 3 (price including tax and tip). There are meat options but due to dietary restrictions, we refrained. They bring out a plate of everything they have to offer- you don't really pick your initial food items or the amount but can order more of whatever you want. Be aware that there is a language barrier for some but there is someone that can translate if needed. This place satiated my hotpot craving and next time I will try the hand pulled noodles which looked delicious at the table next to us.

Nice decor, classy but casual. Went here for New Year's Eve to do hotpot buffet with some friends. We did both the clear and spicy combo. The soups were both very flavorful. The sliced beef and the fish were SOOO good. My husband and friends loved the sausage and quail eggs. A lot of toppings to add, and you can make your own dipping sauces. Service was very good and explained what all the meats and toppings were. Very attentive. We had a great experience!! We cannot wait to come back to try the BBQ skewers!

We waited and waited and at 8:23pm when I saw that a table that was seated after us already got their food, I finally spoke up. It turns out the person who took our order was new and never put it in. They gave each person a canned Coke for the inconvenience. If you got, I would maybe check in on your food a half hour after putting it in because once they made sure our food orders were in, all the dishes came out very very quickly. The food itself was absolutely delicious when we finally got it. Everything was really flavorful and we had plenty of leftovers to take home.

After my most recent order, I'm no longer concerned. The space itself is nicely presented and spacious, providing enough room to ensure tables don't feel too dense or on top of one another. We ordered takeout this time, and the online ordering experience was generally good (but could be improved). Our order was very nicely packaged to survive the trip home. The front of house staff were very kind and helpful, but they also seemed to be stretched a little thin. In terms of the food, everything was packed with flavor and texture. I particularly enjoy the Sichuan pickled vegetables, which tend to be a combination of pickled radish and tiny peppers with some heat coming from dried pepper flakes. The spicy wood ear mushroom is another nice appetizer. We ordered several different items, but the squid in hot and spicy pot really stood out. Our dish didn't match the photos on the ordering page, but I would argue that the result was even better. A nice balance of spice and dried hot peppers, without being overwhelming. A nice crunch from some sliced taro root. A nice texture from both squid and fish cakes. The quick fried cabbage and sautéed snow pea leaves were both excellent pairings and added some vegetable matter. All told, this continues to be an excellent destination. Highly recommended for both dine-in and take-out.

There were no other parties dining at this time. Our server was friendly and helpful with the menu. We ordered a variety of appetizers including crab rangoons, spring rolls, and pork and veggie egg rolls. All of the apps were delicious and came out hot and fresh. I thought the portion sizes were fair for the price. For entrees, we ordered general tsos chicken, chongqing chicken, and fish in hot & spicy pot. The size of all 3 dishes were impressive. The soup bowl was the largest I've ever seen. My plate of chonqing chicken was at least 3-4 portions. I was a little surprised by the level of spice on the chonqing chicken. It was extremely spicy and there was no indication of that when I ordered. It would've been nice for the server to confirm that I could handle that level of heat. I barely ate 1/4 in the restaurant, took some home, tried to doctor it up/cool it down, but it was borderline inedible for me. I loved the layout of the place. It was a little outdated and the bathroom wasn't the nicest, but the furniture and ambiance was relaxing. Parking is on the street.

It's also at a decent price, sometimes I've seen soup dumplings for more than $15 which is ridiculous. It had some good flavor, and wasn't easy to rip the skin. I think the skin thickness was appropriate, not too thin or too thick. Glad to have some nostalgic and satisfying food around. It came hot but I wish we had the cover so we could delay the food from getting cold too quickly. - fish fillet w/ basil and garlic in stone hot pot I personally think this was the best dish. It was well seasoned and came sizzling hot with a side of rice. It has a tasty sauce that combined with the rice is amazing. Free street parking and plenty of tables inside. I'd get a reservation if you're bringing a lot of people like more than 6.
