Pretty good for a tiny Chinese spot located near a vape shop. There are lots of different more popular Chinese/Asian restaurants located near this place, but it's still got solid food. I ordered the fried dumplings, spring rolls, and brown sugar boba tea (also known as bubble tea). The dumplings here were just fine. They didn't stand out, and they weren't particularly flavorful, but they were pretty good. The restaurant didn't label them as pork dumplings, but I'm almost certain they are made with pork. Not much of a vegetable flavor, and pork quality isn't as great as you might get elsewhere, but they are enjoyable with that tasty dumpling sauce. The outer covering is somewhat flimsy. Decent portion. Boba tea was enjoyable and surprisingly cheap at only $5 for a large amount. The pearls were chewy, as they should be, and they put in a lot of these pearls (almost too many). Still, the tea itself was quite flavorful. It's difficult to describe the flavor; it was sweet, but didn't have much of a 'brown sugar' flavor in particular. Surprisingly, my favorite part of the meal were the spring rolls. Usually, they get somewhat soggy or stale when waiting and spending time in the car. But, when I arrived home, they were still crispy! The inside of the spring roll was packed with vegetables. It was all around near perfect. Plus, the price was super reasonable. All in all, is Red Dragon the best Asian food in the area? Probably not. But, they've got good spring rolls, and the food is pretty cheap. The food is still fairly good, too. Ordered the cold noodles with peanut sauce which were pretty tasty and I'd probably get again. I also ordered the "sticky tofu" from the Ubereats app which I thought would be tofu in some type of sticky sauce but it turns out I actually ordered "stinky tofu." Stinky tofu is a very acquired taste, one of which I unfortunately do not possess. Noticed the pieces of hot pepper this time, whoo, had to take them out. Tried some new dishes. SpareRibs with Salty Egg; intensely delicious! It is salty, but addictive. Rib pieces have some kind of breading and that is salty. I loved them. Also tried Fried Dumplings and they were big and the dipping sauce plentiful. After 2 visits still nothing that isn't very good. I ordered from Red Dragon a couple times earlier this year due to it being close to my place of work. I haven't ordered from them in a long time though, since I quickly decided their food isn't really for me. The taste of my orders was always kind of "meh" - not terrible but not memorable either. I didn't even finish my last order of General Tso, since the lackluster flavoring hardly seemed worth the calories. And speaking of calories: the orders themselves always seemed extra greasy, to the point that I suspect that eating here after modifying my eating habits over the spring might overwhelm my poor stomach. My final star rating is based on the fact that I expect Chinese food to be an affordable and appetizing "cheat meal" when I do order it. My work decided to order this last week. I was skeptical after seeing a low rating, and I considered not ordering anything. I should have done just that. I ordered the orange chicken. It was one of the worst takes on the dish I have eaten. The quality of the chicken was so poor; I was chewing on fatty and chewy pieces. The sauce was extremely spicy. I do not have a problem with spice, but I was anticipating something a bit more mild and sweet. The rice was awful. This place has a new owner and they have more Taiwanese cuisine options. I think the foods are overall pretty tasty with reasonable prices. Spareribs pork with salty egg, steak ribs with black pepper sauce, and eggplant stuffed with porks are delicious. I think other dishes should be good to try for next time. read more

Their menu is separated between Chinese-American food and authentic Taiwanese food. I can't speak to the former but the latter( Taiwanese food) is extremely good! Was between giving this a 3 or a 4 but I went with 4 because when you order ASCF you aren't looking for a luxe meal, but as far as your take out Chinese food goes... it was delicious. A solid 4/5 with nice portions that make for awesome leftovers. Definitely recommend the chicken lo mein and chicken and broccoli. Boy friend got an egg roll and said it was one of the best he's had! Red Dragon was a surprisingly delicious Chinese option! Though I still think there are better Asian places in the area, Red Dragon is a great option for when you're craving Chinese food. I highly recommend the chicken with broccoli, their brown sauce is super flavorful and just the right amount of spicy. Also very delicious were the spring rolls, extremely crispy even some time after delivery which is not usually the case. The vegetable lo mein was tasty, but average, exactly what you would expect it to taste like. Their beef noodle （牛肉面）is sooo good! My friends and I would all say they have the best beef noodle in pittsburgh. The noodle seems to be handmade; beef is great tasted and soft; soup is great. Adding chilies is recommended, it will taste even better. read more

If I could give this place a Zero Star Review I would. This is NOT Tasty China which used to be in the same location. Having read the reviews of others, we cautiously tried Red Dragon, placing our same order as we did at Tasty. First, this place is NOT cheap. The prices for Red Dragon are much higher than Tasty's and the food is of such a lower quality. We ordered General Tso Chicken, Beef Chow Fun and egg rolls. I honestly don't n ow how you mess up egg rolls but these were inedible. The taste was of something rotten. The General Yao's was full of fatty pieces with a sauce that didn't taste like any General Tso's that I've ever had before. Red Dragon's tasted more like I was chewing on a dirty dishrag. The Beef Chow Fun was soggy and mushy and lacked any flavor. We couldn't eat the food that was given to us because of how bad it was. The worst part is that the friendly older woman who manned the front desk is no longer there. Unless things drastically change - we'll never go back to Red Dragon. This is the WORST Chinese food I've ever had and by far the WORST service! I came here to order food for my birthday dinner and was absolutely disgusted. The entree was inedible (even my dog refused the chicken) and they REFUSED to give me dipping sauces with my appetizers! I showed back up with the uneaten food asking for a refund and when they refused I asked if I could at least have the 2$ back that i put in their tip jar and they actually called the cops on me for complaining about the food. First of all despite a prior controversy about someone's posted review I assure you I have no ties to the Red Dragon Restaurant other than as a consumer of their comestibles. And a happy consumer I am. Their food is of the Guangdong/Hong Kong/Taiwanese school of Chinese regional specialties and are exemplary versions of them. I've had their eggplant stuffed with pork and the texture of the eggplant was silky and the pork filling crispy (how they do it I'm not sure but has to involve several cooking steps). This dish is often included in dim sum offerings but here there is enough for two people to share over rice as long as they order another dish.They have an unusual beef roll appetizer that even folks who only eat American Chinese food can enjoy. But really order from or eat in the restaurant their more authentic Chinese offerings; don't waste your time there ordering only American Chinese.I'm sure their chef can do it but let him cook what he himself eats and everyone wins, Another dish I love are the Chinese rice cakes with pork and very tasty greens, all the food groups in one dish! Of course their dumplings are fine as well. I know many of us who were patrons of the former restaurant Tasty miss the kind lady who was almost always there but please try this place on its own terms. They have all the usual American Chinese dishes like General Tsos but they also have some more authentic dishes as well, like steamed sea bass with ginger and scallions and the salt and pepper shrimp. It's just... confusing that I can eat such good looking food and hardly taste a thing. Biting into a peanut is like a taste explosion compared to the chicken/veggies/water chestnuts, and this was listed as a spicy dish on their menu. (Covid) Lately fell in love with their Sinapore Rice Noodles, along with sauteed string beans (comes with rice). The SRN dish has both chicken and shrimp, but you can ask for one or the other. Prior to Covid, if you went to this small restaurant to dine (BYOB) you'd notice many Asian patrons, which is a great advertisement for the food. Authentic. People sometimes forget that Asian restaurants will Americanize dishes; the old stand-bys you know but won't bother to list. Be bold and get something new from the Chinese menu. Service and food quality is horrendous. The seating area is dirty with food stains on the walls and chairs. Table settings had 1 napkin and fork but table was clean. I ordered a luncheon special chicken w garlic sauce, white rice, egg roll and hit and sour soup. I made extra for the egg roll which was appropriate but the egg roll had a freezer burnt taste to it and was filled with mostly cabbage. Server never offered me sweet and sour sauce nor hot mustard. After I asked she brought the sweet/sour over but in lieu of the mustard I got this ground up hot peppers mixture. The hot and sour soup was in a small monkey bowl and zero taste. Their prices nearly doubled. Not only that the inside used to look like an awesome small family Chinese restaurant, now it's plain and boring. The only thing that's the same is the man cooking the food. He always does good with his meals, but when I went in so I could sit down and enjoy the food, the lady bagged my food. I said I wanted to eat there and she just shrugged. The bagged meals are obviously shorted on food, but cost the same.
