    L11. Chili Paste

Went with my family and it was good. I loved the chili paste chicken. And the spring rolls were good and I liked the sauce that came with them. I wish the rice had been a bit more spicy. My dad really liked the curry. The staff was very nice. It was not busy when we went, we were able to sit down right away.

Thai Gourmet was soooooo good!! I was shocked that on a Friday night it was empty! This place deserves all the business. The food was banging, the service was great, and everything that was supposed to be spicy was actually spicy.

I got the hoi jaw and a Thai tea. Let me first say the hoi jaw is one of the best things I ever had. The fried tofu skin is so crunchy and the meat filling taste absolutely phenomenal with the sweet chili house sauce. This "appetizer" is so good that I would easily just order two of them and call that a meal. The that tea was also really good, it was sweet, milky , and refreshing! This place is family owned and that definitely elevates the general flavor and feel of the restaurant. I would highly recommend that you try this place out if you are in the area! Food: 8.8 Staff/service: 8.2 Overall: 8.5/10

I want to come back here and eat in person because I picked up my takeout an hour late by accident! Overall the man working was very nice and the restaurant seemed clean! I got the see-ew with chicken! I got the lunch version that comes with soup and an egg roll! I think it's so worth the price! I think the actual dish could be 2 meals!! I got a spice level 2 and definitely want to increase that! I feel like it was lacking some flavor but I'm definitely willing to go bacon

I recently ordered takeout from Thai Gourmet. Online ordering was very easy and pickup was a breeze. I ordered the green curry noddles and a Thai lime iced tea. Everything was so good! The curry had a lot of flavor and they add shishito peppers to their curry, which is one of my favorite veggies! Additionally, the lime Thai tea was so refreshing. It had a great lime taste without being overpowering. Overall, my meal was delicious! I'm definitely adding this place to my takeout rotation!

As the menu reads, Thai Gourmet is family run and woman owned since 2004, so you know it's good! They no longer take reservations, but welcome BYOB. I ordered the hoi jawh appetizer, but was told that the restaurant was out of it. Instead, my group split the tempura broccoli. It was lightly fried to perfection as if melting in your mouth. I noticed that the pumpkin curry was listed in red ink on the menu, denoting that it had a minimum spice level of 3. I spoke with the waitress and was reassured that it was not completely overpowering as spicy is not my preference. To my delight, she was right, and the pumpkin curry was a delicious seasonal dish. The other girls in my group enjoyed the Yum Tofu salad and Tom Yum Noodle Bowl. The atmosphere is quaint and cutely decorated, with lots of pick up order customers coming through on a Friday evening. I would absolutely return!

Great little small business in Lawrenceville! Went to Thai Gourmet for their lunch special, as one does, which includes a long list of entrees and comes with a soup and a spring roll. The portions are large so lunch is definitely great value! The food was also great; the Tom yum soup had great flavor and the Pad Thai was some of the best I've had in the area. The pineapple curry was also delicious. I don't normally like warm fruit but this pineapple was tasty and fresh. We got our food via takeout. Our order was done in a timely and safe manner. Would definitely recommend stopping by during your lunch break!

Yummy and spicy thai food! As of January 2022, this location has been operating as a takeout only restaurant! I've been a loyal patron of this restaurant for 5+ years. Initially, I used to come here for affordable home-style Thai cuisine. But since the pandemic hit the restaurant, I've witnessed major price increases with no change in quality or quantity. Recently, I ordered the red curry, which was a generous portion, but also quite watered down. Slightly disappointed with the flavor and thickness of the curry. I'm a sucker for their mango sticky rice, though! It's chewy with a hint of coconut creme and deliciously ripe mangos. Definitely miss the dining in experience and friendly waitstaff! tldr; food 3.75/5 service 4/5 interior 4/5

Decided to give this place a try and called in two orders of Pad Thai for takeout. It ended up being a good decision because the place seemed pretty full when we went to pick it up, despite there being a snow storm and some icy road conditions. We made one of the orders a spice level 4 (which was tasty), while mine was a 0 since I don't tolerate spice well. Unfortunately, it lacked flavor and was a bit dry. I'm interested in some of the other items on the menu and other reviews seemed positive, so I'm open to giving them another try.

My friend and I dined there on July 4th. I got the Pad See Ew - noodles were soft yet springy, and the spicy / smoky / garlicky flavor of the dish is like nothing you get anywhere else. I am also not usually a dessert person, but this visit, I made an exception. The mango coconut ice cream with the sticky rice was a very special treat, particularly on this hot and muggy day. I don't even normally love mango, but yesterday I did. Just perfect, can't ask for more. Five stars.

They served my friend chicken and insisted that it was pork! He doesn't eat chicken!! Story time!! We were in town for the Marathon weekend and tried to make a last minute resy. We got seated outside which was fine cuz we understand it was last minute). It was 40s outside and no heater in place... People seemed to come here for special events (we saw many grad parties or birthdays and date nights). We ordered noodles and curries. Huge portions that could serve 2 people per entree (or 1 very hungry runner per entree, which was the case for us). The food was tasty HOWEVER WE WERE GASLIT! My friend ordered his dish with pork and after a bite or two he realized it was chicken. We asked the waitress to send it back and she insisted it was pork (by this photo you can tell the top right dish's protein is the same as the chicken in the 2 curries...) and insisted that we were confused with curt demeanor... Service wise, we had multiple different waiters/ waitresses, one person seating us, another taking our order, another delivering the food, another filling the water, so it was very hard to communicate our concerns because it was one big telephone game. We didn't like the service, the outdoors dining area was cute and NOISY so don't plan on having conversations there. Parking was easy enough there were multiple garages nearby. Overall tasty food but we got the ick after being gaslit so probably won't come back.

We got there at 4:40 on a Saturday and they open at 5. I'd say that's a good sweet spot although there was already a decent line when we got there so I'm sure it just depends! Such a simple dish but I could eat a VAT of that Roti app once a week for the rest of my life and be better for it LOL. It's seriously so good I crave it constantly. I tried out the lemongrass meatballs this time. They were SO GOOD. Normally I need a thick sauce with a meatball idk it's just who I am. These needed absolutely nothing. We had a horrible culinary experience the past couple of days driving through West Virginia, Ohio, and western New York. Pittsburgh was our last stop before heading home and Kiin Lao and Thai Eatery made up for all of the culinary disappointment this weekend. Let's talk about the ambiance first. Everything about this restaurant was quite beautiful. When I say beautiful, I don't mean it in an elegant way, but an artsy street vibe way. It is hip, clean, and we'll put together. You can tell a lot of love went into the decorations and into every piece of art on its walls. The service was pretty good. The server herself was attentive when needed and left us alone when needed. The food was AWESOME. We got the papaya combo with the Thum Mak Houng option, curry puffs, grilled pork shoulder with sticky rice, and Pad Gra Prow Street Style. The papaya was "lao-style" made with fermented shrimp paste. If you love deep umami flavors, this is it for you. The papaya salad was pungent and sour and savory spicy and just so satisfying. We asked for a 6/10 spiciness and they came with the heat. The chicken skewers that came with it was flavorful too. A little bit of char on the chicken would've brought it over the top. The curry puffs were so comforting and had that south Asian flavor profile that was very welcomed. The curry and spice blend did not overwhelm the potatoes. Instead it enhanced the earthy potato flavors in the best way possible. The menu said that it came with a cucumber sauce but I don't think we got that. What we got was a more like a honey sauce. The sauce was good in itself but didn't pair well with the puffs. The grilled pork shoulder was delectable. The meat was tender and it was seasoned perfectly. Again, more char on the meat would've brought it to a new level. The only gripe I have with this order was the sticky rice. The amount of sticky rice you get with it was so small I thought it was a joke initially. Nope, it was not! I thought the Pad Gra Prow Street Style was OKAY. I would've made it a little saucier. Despite this, my significant other absolutely LOVED it. Pad Gra Prow was my significant other's favorite dish when she lived overseas. She said that this was the best Pad Gra Prow she has had on this side of the world. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. We would definitely come by again when we are back this way.
