I want to come back here and eat in person because I picked up my takeout an hour late by accident! Overall the man working was very nice and the restaurant seemed clean! I got the see-ew with chicken! I got the lunch version that comes with soup and an egg roll! I think it's so worth the price! I think the actual dish could be 2 meals!! I got a spice level 2 and definitely want to increase that! I feel like it was lacking some flavor but I'm definitely willing to go bacon

I got the hoi jaw and a Thai tea. Let me first say the hoi jaw is one of the best things I ever had. The fried tofu skin is so crunchy and the meat filling taste absolutely phenomenal with the sweet chili house sauce. This "appetizer" is so good that I would easily just order two of them and call that a meal. The that tea was also really good, it was sweet, milky , and refreshing! This place is family owned and that definitely elevates the general flavor and feel of the restaurant. I would highly recommend that you try this place out if you are in the area! I recently ordered takeout from Thai Gourmet. Online ordering was very easy and pickup was a breeze. I ordered the green curry noddles and a Thai lime iced tea. Everything was so good! The curry had a lot of flavor and they add shishito peppers to their curry, which is one of my favorite veggies! Additionally, the lime Thai tea was so refreshing. It had a great lime taste without being overpowering. Overall, my meal was delicious! I'm definitely adding this place to my takeout rotation!

As the menu reads, Thai Gourmet is family run and woman owned since 2004, so you know it's good! They no longer take reservations, but welcome BYOB. I ordered the hoi jawh appetizer, but was told that the restaurant was out of it. Instead, my group split the tempura broccoli. It was lightly fried to perfection as if melting in your mouth. I noticed that the pumpkin curry was listed in red ink on the menu, denoting that it had a minimum spice level of 3. I spoke with the waitress and was reassured that it was not completely overpowering as spicy is not my preference. To my delight, she was right, and the pumpkin curry was a delicious seasonal dish. The other girls in my group enjoyed the Yum Tofu salad and Tom Yum Noodle Bowl. The atmosphere is quaint and cutely decorated, with lots of pick up order customers coming through on a Friday evening. I would absolutely return!

Great little small business in Lawrenceville! Went to Thai Gourmet for their lunch special, as one does, which includes a long list of entrees and comes with a soup and a spring roll. The portions are large so lunch is definitely great value! The food was also great; the Tom yum soup had great flavor and the Pad Thai was some of the best I've had in the area. The pineapple curry was also delicious. I don't normally like warm fruit but this pineapple was tasty and fresh. We got our food via takeout. Our order was done in a timely and safe manner. Would definitely recommend stopping by during your lunch break!

Yummy and spicy thai food! As of January 2022, this location has been operating as a takeout only restaurant! I've been a loyal patron of this restaurant for 5+ years. Initially, I used to come here for affordable home-style Thai cuisine. But since the pandemic hit the restaurant, I've witnessed major price increases with no change in quality or quantity. Recently, I ordered the red curry, which was a generous portion, but also quite watered down. Slightly disappointed with the flavor and thickness of the curry. I'm a sucker for their mango sticky rice, though! It's chewy with a hint of coconut creme and deliciously ripe mangos. Definitely miss the dining in experience and friendly waitstaff! tldr; food 3.75/5 service 4/5 interior 4/5

    Pad Thai takeout

Decided to give this place a try and called in two orders of Pad Thai for takeout. It ended up being a good decision because the place seemed pretty full when we went to pick it up, despite there being a snow storm and some icy road conditions. We made one of the orders a spice level 4 (which was tasty), while mine was a 0 since I don't tolerate spice well. Unfortunately, it lacked flavor and was a bit dry. I'm interested in some of the other items on the menu and other reviews seemed positive, so I'm open to giving them another try.

I ordered the green curry chicken and cashew nut chicken, both medium spicy. Both dishes could have been spicier in my opinion. Next time, I'd opt for a hot for the cashew nut chicken if you are someone who likes spicy food and can take a kick. In regards to the actual food, I'll start with portion side. I did take-out and I was so impressed by the portions (see pictures). Excited for lots of leftovers. For the taste, I enjoyed both. However, the green curry was too salty, so I'll knock 1 star off. I am assuming it was just something off with the kitchen today since it was only slightly too salty, but definitely could taste it. Overall, I'd come back and I'd encourage you to try this lil' small business and support them during difficult times!

    Thai Spring Roll

I haven't been to many Thai restaurants in Pittsburgh, but this place was definitely quite tasty! It made me more curious about Thai culture and was a great way to introduce me to the cuisine. Specifically, I got the Pad See Ew, Todd Mun, and Thai Spring Rolls. My noodles were delicious. The sauce was evenly spread throughout the noodles and had a slightly sweet taste to it, which I enjoyed immensely. However, if I ate all of the food, I believe the sauce would be a little overwhelmingly sweet. The noodles themselves seemed to be a bit charred or caramelized almost, which added smokiness and depth to the dish's flavor. It had a decent amount of broccoli and protein (I chose chicken, and it was for no additional cost). Chicken came in thin slices and was cooked well. And the portion...wow, it was more than I expected! Especially for the price, this portion is truly huge; it's enough for at least two meals. The appetizers I ordered were the Todd Mun and the spring rolls. Todd Mun is essentially a fish cake, and it was relatively crispy and had a good texture. To me, it wasn't very flavorful, though. Spring rolls were exactly what I wanted from a spring roll: crispy, filled with cabbage, and served with a nice, somewhat sweet sauce (although it also had chilies in it). Appetizer portions are fine, but not as great of a deal as the main course. Overall, this is a great little Thai restaurant that serves quite large portions for a cheap price. I'd recommend trying it out! 4.3/5

Both delicious. The 17 ingredient salad is highly recommended and we could tell why. So refreshing and flavorful. It was fun finding all of the 17 ingredients. For our entrees I got the crispy shrimp and my boyfriend got the khao soi. Both left us craving more the whole drive home. Staff were so pleasant and happy to answer any questions. Beautiful restaurant, indoor and outdoor. I think next time we visit, we will have a later reservation outside to enjoy the greenery. Make a reservation at least a month in advance!! If not, there are some bar seats available but make sure to get there early.

Finally, I was determined and I booked out probably 2 1/2 months in advance.... And ended up going in the dead of winter. I know that I would've enjoyed my experience much more if we could've sat in the garden, that's probably an excellent vibe. I'm a spicy marg lover so I tried-new person same old mistakes-it didn't really strike me as spicy but more so smoky and I wanted spicy. We did the khao yum-it was unique, I think I would really have loved this. If it was hot out it seems like it would be very refreshing and light and more ideal for the spring and summer and like I said we went in the dead of winter. I did the beef tenderloin as my main and it was good, it wasn't too spicy, had a nice flavor, but I don't know that I would order it again. If it wasn't so hard to get a reservation, I would definitely come here more. I really liked the vibe and the aesthetic.

It is really good but quite expensive. I got to try their chicken satay, Tom kha soup, pad see ew with tofu, and Thai custard. Now, the Tom kha soup I didn't have very much of, but it was decent. Lots of coconut milk to balance the spice (not too spicy at all), but I'm just not really used to this flavor. The chicken satay, though, was really good. Very lean chicken grilled perfectly with a nice sauce. Definitely recommend. As for the mains, the pad see ew was also very tasty. Quite noodle heavy here, which I don't mind. The vegetables are fresh, and the tofu was nicely cooked. Definitely recommend as well. Finally, the Thai custard. It was also excellent. Interestingly, there's a hint of chocolate as well or something of the sort besides just coconut milk. But still, very good, very creamy, and just a nice dessert. All in all, I really like this spot. They have awesome outdoor seating if you are able to catch it (indoors is great too with all the nice paintings and such but more crowded). Portions are big, but the prices are pretty high as well. Still, I'd recommend.
