a menu for a chinese restaurant
    Patrick P.

A pretty good place where I have eaten a couple of times. Please note - I recommend take out - you can eat there but the atmosphere is similar to a Diary Queen ;-) Good food - in a place where there are not many choices without a 10-15 minute drive in any direction. I recommend any of their dishes. They serve chicken on skewers in lieu of chicken wings. They were pretty tasty. Food - Portions are large (dinner) and prepared well Price - $5-11 Atmosphere - meh Enjoy!

Went here tonight because my usual spot was closed. The restaurant itself is clean, there are a few tables for dining in. I ordered takeout. I'd say items a reasonably priced, actually a little better than other Chinese places. I had a regular egg roll which was great. I had the chicken and broccoli (my go to) and it just didn't have great flavor and was pretty bland. The veggies seemed fresh though. A friend I was with ordered the veggies sautéed in garlic and said they were great.

It was just okay. The quality of the food was sub par compared to what other options the area has. Prices are good though.

The staff confirmed our 'no peanut garnish' request and made sure we knew it was crispy garlic on the pad see-ew and not peanut. The lobby was calm and cozy. There were small containers of a spicy sauce ready to go and I grabbed one for our meal. Note that they have SIX spice levels from 0-5 PLUS "cry hot". I felt my level one was that of a 2/3 elsewhere. The Pad See-Ew with chicken and crispy garlic was delicious. The Red Curry with chicken spice level 1 had a bit of a kick, but it was enough I could still taste and not be overwhelmed. Pineapple Curry had a well prepared tofu and crispy vegetables. We also enjoyed their Crab Rangoon and Thai Spring rolls, both of which were crispy and hot.

However the second time I did order from their second location in Glenshaw rather than the OG in Bellevue. Glenshaw location.... If I had any followers on here you'd know I'm an old yinzer and often remember the business history. I remember when this was an Italian cafe and then a convenience store even before then. The Thai spot is my favorite! It's cozy, beautiful flower garden at the outside seating, and BYOB. The menus at the two locations are different forcing me to order something other than my usual. Order is quick and accurate. Will be glad to come back.

Prices are reasonable. My husband and I ate lunch here one time. An employee promptly seated us, but we did not get to order for 15 minutes. Then 18 minutes after that, the waitress told us that the Thai ice tea was out of stock. A couple minutes later, we received our appetizers. Fifteen minutes later (50 minutes after we had arrived), we received our entrees and then my dessert. Overall, I rate the quality of the foods as 5 stars. Our Thai spring rolls had a crispy outside, soft vegetable inside, and flavorful sauce. My husband called his wonton soup "pretty good." My green curry with chicken had the perfect amount of spice as I had requested and a delicious slight sweetness. My husband liked his pad see-ew with chicken and its side ginger salad. My mango sticky rice had heart-shaped rice and fresh, sweet mango. The total price was $53 plus a tip.

We were fortunate to find a parking spot for our vehicle in front of the restaurant, but some free street parking is supposed to be available. The employees promptly and politely served us. The menu listed appetizers (e.g., gyoza and takoyaki), soups (e.g., wonton and tom kha), noodles and rices (e.g., pad Thai, lo mein, and yakisoba), noodle soups (e.g., tom yum and duck noodle), specials (e.g., peanut chicken, steak teriyaki, and grilled mahi mahi), sushi (e.g., salmon, octopus, red snapper, bluefin tuna, and yellowtail), poke bowls, ramen, bento boxes, and desserts (e.g., mochi ice cream, taiyaki, and mango sticky rice). Here are my ratings for what we ate: Thai Iced Tea - 5 stars - My husband really enjoyed the flavors of the tea, milk, spices, and sugar. Umai Sampler - 3.5 stars - This appetizer contained 2 crab rangoon, 2 spring rolls, 2 steamed dumplings, and 2 shrimp tempura. Green Curry Noodle Soup - 3.5 stars - This soup had a large serving size and was filled with nicely cooked rice noodles and vegetables such as broccoli, bell peppers, eggplant, and basil. I did think that it could have contained more coconut milk for a sweeter taste. Furthermore, I had requested a spicy level of 5 or medium, but the waiter recorded 4 and brought me broth that tasted more like 8. Green curry is my favorite Thai food, and this one did not quite match my expectations. Umai Street Noodle - 3 stars - My husband ate this main course. He had requested a spicy level of 2, and it was that level. It contained egg noodles, BBQ pork, wonton, bok choy, bean sprouts, and scallion. He said, "That was as average as average could be." The total price was $55 plus tax and tip.

You also see the tank for the beer that they brew on site. It is certainly something that makes them unique as I don't think I've ever been to a thai restaurant that brewed before. We had a variety of appetizers and entrees. My kids had the chicken satay and said they really enjoyed it. The chicken was tender and not overly cooked. They asked for extra sauce (so they don't fight over it) and loved both sauces it comes with. As an FYI, they do charge for extra sauce, but it is very reasonable for the add on. Our server told us about the extra charge so it was nice to not be surprised at the end when our bill came. Overall, too, our server was knowledgeable and friendly and fun with the kids. I tried handcrafted puffs with chicken because it was something I had never had before. They were perfection. Crispy, a nice size and packed with flavor. I'd go back just for more of those puffs. My kids had chicken pad thai, my husband the panang curry and I tried the ka-prao. We all really enjoyed our dishes. They had the right amount of spice that we each ordered and you could tell the ingredients were all fresh. I didn't love mine, so I'd order something different if I went back. There was nothing wrong with it. It was tasty and as advertised, I've just had versions that I prefer over theirs. They didn't have mango sticky rice but the kids really wanted dessert, so we tried the black sticky rice with taro in coconut milk. It was interesting to try something new and everyone really enjoyed it. Overall, a great experience and I can see why it was so highly rated.
