After moving from living in the city of Pgh to the suburbs it has been a struggle to find any decent Chinese or Asian food near EF. (A HUGE difference from living in Pgh and having so many choices that are excellent fast Chinese & Asian cuisine, as well as Gourmet & Casual Dining Asian cuisine.) This is an EXCELLENT place to get Fast, Casual Chinese. We tried several different places in the area. Other places were really not up to our expectations for Fast Chinese or Casual. New China Jade was suggested after I mentioned the frustration of having to drive all the way to Pittsburgh or Monroeville to get anything decent. After finding NCJ we are ordering at least weekly. (& keep in mind my youngest "hates all Chinese foods"). Our entire family has been very happy with their menu. The staff is so nice. It's take out only. Which is ok w me. Their lunch menu is ridiculously inexpensive for a generous meal. Our neighbors mentioned they get lunch once or twice a week. They know what they're doing. The lunch prices are so low it's hard to remember that their dinner & weekend prices are reasonable as well. I love how inexpensive their over all menu is. $12-16 a meal! My kids love the Gen Tso because it's not spicy unless you ask. They also like the, I think it's Orange Chicken, without heat, it's nice chunks of all white meat. My husband likes the pepper steak combo- lunch or dinner. Or sometimes he gets something spicy as a combo. The combos come with soup or eggroll. He is one to explore the menu more than the rest of us. And has like everything he has tried. We all love the mei fun. Even my picky kindergartner who insists, "hates Chinese food! They put poo poo on platters! " will eat food from here. My picky eater likes their sweet and sour chicken too. Their favorite it is the new fun but the lo mien is also eaten up. I like their steamed options. Unbreaded chicken with sauce in the side and veggies. I often order the steamed chicken with broccoli. And then get brown sauce in the side. And pay $1 for a cup of Gen Tso or another sauce. Often I also add chicken egg rolls to our order for the kids and I . Shrimp for my husband. And wontons, I like to add an added order of the fried cheese ones. I love the soup that's just wontons in broth. Lots of broth and a couple wontons. It's on the blander side. Thankfully. We were sick recently and it was perfect while we were recovering. My husband likes their fancier wonton soup that has add ins. He also likes their egg drop. All in all, I find New China Glade to be one in the top 5 Chinese restaurants we enjoy out of all of Allegheny County. I highly suggest them to anyone local and anyone who isn't. read more

We got take out, I'm not sure if they do inside seating yet. I was not impressed by the food at all this time. The Wonton soup was bland and our meals were not the best either. I got General Tso Chicken and was not impressed at all. There was no spice to it and had a couple pieces of broccoli in it. My husband got the Pepper Steak and he also was not impressed. This was the first time trying China Jade and it did not disappoint. A friend of mine told me about this place and I looked up the menu and decided to give it a try. I called ahead and the lady who answered the phone was very pleasant and patient with me through questions. It doesn't appear like you can dine in, but I'd imagine that it's nice inside. Youre the best around and nothings ever gonna keep you down. The best in the mon valley. The egg rolls will sweep your leg. And the house made spicy mustard is considered illegal hands to the face. Many Chinese places look similar. The menus seem vast, but well known. If you frequent many establishments you will find that many are very, very similar. In one respect you know what to expect, but you will not get creativity. Much like going to McDonalds, you begin to judge on other metrics...such as cleanliness and staff. That's how I feel about China Jade. The menu is not dissimilar to other Chinese establishments, but the staff is friendly and I like the prices. If you are familiar with this type of fare you will be fine. The people are really, really nice. That said, I long for some authentic dishes. read more

Ordered for the first time the other day and got take out. I used to go to China Park in Glassport before they closed. The food was really good, and decently priced. I chose the General Tso Chicken and a small order of Pork Lo Mein. The food was done pretty quickly, in 15 minutes and ready to be picked up by the time I arrived. read more

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area! We go here for lunch at least once a month when we have time from work. The waitress that we usually get is very friendly, remembers your usual order (huge plus for me!) and is very attentive. We always get the crunchy noodles for the table. I get the orange chicken no green peppers and white rice on the side. There is more than enough for lunch, sometimes I take some home. My bill is $10 with tip for lunch. My husband and I have also ordered dinner. The pan seared dumplings are good, a little too doughy for me, but still very good. The crab cheese (Rangoon) and paper shrimp are also awesome! My favorite Chinese take-out! No place, no matter how much more formal it's supposed to be, compares. I've been a customer for almost 20 years. Their sauces are all rich and flavorful, especially the brown sauce! Chicken & broccoli or shrimp & broccoli are my favs. They'll give you extra sauce or increase the heat upon request with any meal. I also order the beef and mushroom but ask for just mushrooms no other veg. They oblige. Its delicious! Another recommendation is their lo mein. I like to order all my veggies here well done or 'soft.' They are very fast to deliver. I mean under a half hour! Their prices are VERY reasonable, even with my large family. There were no tofu dishes on the lunch menu so I asked the waitress if they could make a tofu dish. She said "yes" and asked what else I would like with the tofu and I said "broccoli". I was served a huge plate of delicious tofu and broccoli in a brown sauce. The bill was $5.50! read more

This place is exactly the sort of Chinese restaurant I love for lunch, and I'm so glad my husband "rediscovered" it after years away from the McKeesport area and brought me here recently. They have a huge menu of lunch specials under six bucks and the portions are very good. You can choose from a few options for your side item, and I was very happy with my hot and sour soup selection. It was top notch. I've eaten a lot of walnut shrimp but hadn't had walnut chicken, so that's what I ordered here. It was sweet, creamy, and excellent, and while the chicken was fried they do a very light wonderful batter on it. Garnished with broccoli, I didn't even need the rice to round out my lunch so I passed that off to my husband who very much enjoyed the shrimp fried rice and eggroll he ordered for himself. We heard another patron getting hot jasmine tea and I wished we'd thought to order some, too. Tiny, clean, peaceful and very green inside this cute place. Horrible! Phone service! Being honest I have ordered, picked up, and eaten in several time at this establishment several times and while the service has always been okay if any at all, understandable for this type of business, this most recent call was an embarrassment to customer service. Trying to call in and place an order for pick up or delivery and pay by credit card over the phone has never been this difficult. The female manager on the phone yelled complaining I was wasting her time, she had other better customer to get to, and even suggested I call somewhere else saying she did not want to deal with me, when I was asking about the price. I have frequented this restaurant for a number of years and the quality of the prepared dishes has declined steadily to the point where I feel that leaving this review is the only way that China Jade will address the issue as when I called to discuss the problem and find a resolution, I was dismissed with an, "I'm sorry." In addition to other dishes ordered this evening, I requested the Seafood Delight. This dish usually includes, (As per the Menus description and previous orders of same dish), Shrimp, Scallops, imitation crab, a generous chunk of lobster tail still in the shell, along with various vegetables including broccoli, snow peas, baby corn, and water chestnut. for $12 + tx. When I opened the container to enjoy my meal at home, I discovered 4 shrimp, one scallop, and an abundance of broccoli, water chestnut, and baby corn that emitted an odor of sweaty feet. Now this wasn't the first time that this happened except the previous time, I gave China Jade the benefit of the doubt that this was a rare mistake and said as much when I called them to make them aware of the problem. Despite the fact that they neither offered to replace the dish, or refund my money, I felt confident in ordering the same dish tonight believing that it was a mistake, they were made aware, and would be sure not to repeat and possibly lose a longtime customer. So faced with the reality of witnessing the decline in the quality of the dishes served over time and the lack of any attempt outside of someone on the phone saying, "I'm sorry" to resolve the issue or to even offer to make it right by replacing the dinner or refunding the cost of it, I will no longer frequent the establishment, despite having been a repeat customer for years, and have chosen to leave this review so that others might consider the experience and maybe traveling down the road a mile or so to the Chinese restaurant at Oak Park Mall on Lincoln Way & Route 48. read more
