Love this restaurant so much! Everyone there is so nice and the food is really good. I Always recommend China House to any of my friends. It is also very cute inside the restaurant and an amazing atmosphere! I recommend the buffet bar, egg rolls, fried donuts and finally the fried noodles. read more

No clear indication what days and times they do / don't have their buffet, their website states nothing about their buffet, and there are various pictures on google which state different days and times when they do have the buffet that contradict each other. Their website has little to no actual pictures of what their food actually looks like instead using stock photos you can find online which is very misleading about the quality and quantity of food you will actually receive. If you plan on ordering food here your best option is to only get the buffet as their menu portions aren't that great for the price on top of the quality of the food you will receive such as being overly salty on multiple dishes and bland, and they also charge you extra for refills without telling you including for the buffet. Stay away from ordering takeout as the takeout portions appear to be smaller than what you'll get eating inside. 1 of the staff has been rather rude from multiple accounts, such as believing you'll take off without paying when walking up to the register to tap your Card or Phone for payment despite (customer) asking if that option is available and (customer) stating that's how they plan to pay after receiving confirmation that option is available, same staff member also ignored a complaint for illegal business practices in the end just smiling. They will add a service charge on to your bill for paying with a Debit Card which is an illegal business practice. read more

I ordered FY 1. Vegetable Egg Foo Young, no real vegetables more like soup vegetables and so many peas, they were hard like BB's terrible couldn't eat. it did arrive packed well and hot but lacked authentic Chinese taste.. read more

When we first moved here, about a year and a half ago, this place was great! Since then it went to OK to what I got today, trash. Just got a refund for one wrong soup, and two worst potstickers ever. I did try the soup before contacting Uber thinking well egg drop isn't bad... usually. Nope this has so much starch in the soup that the egg is suspended in what looks like and has the texture of gelatin. Yes starch is expected, gelatin is not. The potstickers were awful as well. I don't know who puts a sauce in the potsticker itself. But it looks like they did. No cabbage, no veg at all. Unidentifiable meat of some sort, it is soaked in previous mentioned sauce. A glob of brown stuff surrounded by dry dough. How do you get a dry steamed potsticker? Good question, they are cracky, thick and tough. At least twice as much dough as filling... maybe the ratio was off because of the lack of veg. Not sure but sad to see what was a great restaurant fall so quickly. Maybe it was the days cook, but I have had similar comments from people around me as well. But I just thought I would give them one last try. My cat won't even eat it. To top it off, the fortune cookie I munched waiting for new food didn't have a fortune in it. Sitting waiting for my dinner to get here from the next Chinese place in line. Hopefully a better choice this time. read more

China House - Potsticker as one should never be - Chinese Near Me - White Oak, Pennsylvania

We ordered the pepper steak, broccoli chicken, fried dumplings, chicken lo mein, soup, and orange chicken. It's fast food Chinese. Which we usually do like on occasion. I understand there is Chinese that is done to a higher standard and then there is fast, take out, cheap Chinese food. This is what I expected from China House. Standard, decent, fast take out Chinese food. This was not at all decent. It was bad. I mean really not good. The orange chicken was hard and sticky. Which orange chicken is sweet but this was as if it had been microwaved 5 times over until they were cooked into hard chunks and then dumped to swim in a pool of tasteless sugar. The pepper steak consisted of brown chewy steak pieces with much more onion than anything else- it is onion & rubber brown bits in a salty brown sauce with 2 pieces of green pepper. The chicken lo mein was mushy. And lacked the chicken. The broccoli chicken was salty and oily. The broccoli was limp, while the chicken chewy in texture and there was an excess of oil. The price for meals seemed way too much for how bad it was. Service wasn't even good. Unfortunately this is just not the place for us. We love to get fast Chinese as long at its edible. This was thrown away. read more

We have patronized China House for many years, since before the pandemic. We have always been more than thrilled with the service and food. We like the buffet. It is always kept fresh, and if there is something running low,we only need ask and it is filled within minutes. Everything is always fresh. We have gone on various days and can report they take great pride in presentation and customer satisfaction. China House in White Oak is a pleasure to visit and always clean and satisfying. You can't go wrong. If you dont see what you want, ask. They are very accommodating. You will love them! read more

Great spot for dine in or take out! There's ample parking in the plaza lot. The inside is so cute and always very clean. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The wait time is always accurate (not long at all!) and the food was hot and fresh. read more

Overall tips, eating in you'll get more food - if you haven't tried it, do that and come back and tell me if you agree or not! And they're is usually parking right in front of the building. Also bonus, you can get booze nearby and bring it in here if you choose to do so. They never seem to have an issue. Overall 4/5 because it's the best in the local area unless you plan on driving to monroville for fortune star (buffet) I got a pork egg roll and the walnut chicken because it's scrumptious. The broccoli is a lil on the harder side but that's okay! The service here is usually pretty solid as it is at any Chinese restaurant, so expect to have that drink full often (unless they're eating themselves) Ambiance is pretty chill, only time I've ever been here when it's jumpin' is when they have the buffet boomin. read more

China House - HS1. Walnut Chicken - Chinese Near Me - White Oak, Pennsylvania

Went here with my dad and others for a Sunday lunch. Unfortunately their buffets are no longer offered as of November 2021. We decided to stay and order from the menu even though the buffet is no longer there. We ordered chicken wings and chicken teriyaki for appetizers. The chicken teriyaki is the "chicken on a stick" that you see at buffets, though the portion size on each stick is larger. This was very tasty, and with 4 per order, it was a generous size for the price! The chicken wings were very good - super crispy fried chicken wing dings (no sauce) - 6 pieces in an order was awesome. I ordered the Dinner Combo since there's no lunch on Sundays. I got the vegetable egg roll (delicious), wonton soup (so flavorful), and the chicken with vegetables entree. The chicken with vegetables is more of the "Lite" dish, with steamed chicken pieces and vegetables, though this one is tossed in the white sauce. Although the vegetables were fresh and had that signature crunch from wok-fried veggies, the dish itself was quite bland. Seldom do I have to use s&p shakers, at restaurants, but this dish needed some help. The white rice was cooked well, but I had to add soy sauce because the dish overall needed some flavor. All in all, I would return, mostly for the soup and appetizers. I would definitely like to try their buffet if they ever open it back up, because it would be good to sample some of their other dishes. However, I don't think this would be my first or second choice in a Chinese food restaurant. read more

Pass, just pass! Ordered a delivery and the time for delivery was good, food was still hot when it arrived. My problem is the food, there was so seasoning and the Hunan Chicken had literally zero spicy even though the menu claimed spicy. Ordered egg drop soup, received hot and sour soup which just tasted like vegetable stock and some veggies thrown in. The Rangoons we're the best item but that's not saying much because they weren't good. Also ordered a plate of Mongolian beef and we definitely received another beef dish because this plate was 90% mushrooms with no onions. You'd make better stir fry at the house even if you can't boil water... read more

nǐ hǎo So far the meal is going fantastic i start off with the wonton soup and it hits me like Mike Tyson, the flavor packs a powerful punch also the wontons are good sometimes u get a good combo where soup and wonton is good and sometimes u get one that's not so good luckily we got a double hitter . Mind u this is the one that comes with the combo but when i go back i want the pot not a cup the pot of soup.. next off we are doing egg rolls and they aren't the best i had but they aren't bad they are average Atleast they don't taste like feet those are the worst if I'm gonna taste feet let me have a toe or something :) next we go to funky town and get some delicious orange chicken, the chicken tastes good... the breading is good and the sauce isn't bad isn't overly sweet which can go either way but sometimes over sweetness can be killer. Def recommend... the fried rice is okay it's not gonna win any 5 star awards but it's a solid 2.5 it does the job and it's now awful could use a bit more veggies or whatever but I'll eat it unlike some places the rice is the kiss of death...last but not least on this tour de China is the lo mein... so it's good nothing mind blowing, but good not noodles are good as is the meat. Would def get again prob would ask them to make it spicy. Over all the food was good and i def would go back again... it's better than some of the other local joints around here so come try it u may like it or don't i can't tell u what to do... def better than bam-poo garden yuck... zàijiàn read more

THE BEST! One of the few Chinese restaurants that actually SEASONS their food so everything doesn't taste like it comes off a buffet. Great portions. Nice selection. Fast delivery. Really friendly staff. But again.... DELICIOUS FOOD! Give it a try! Good prices, too. read more

My wife and I eat there every weekend, food is delicious, the dishes are very good and fresh with prices that are reasonable.

Always fresh and delicious. I love American Chinese and they have the best sauces. Wok chef is great!

Best Chinese food I've had in a while! The quality was good and so are the portions. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Used to be fast and good and now slow and ok. The quality of the meats they are using have seemed to be at a loss.

They are so nice !! 10/10. The customer service is amazing. The restaurant is clean and decorated well. The food is great.

I recently moved to the area and decide to check this place out. I got the walnut chicken. It was so sweet! There was so much that I had another meal a second day. They have some excellent specials right now since the buffet is closed. Definitely hope to check them out more in the future. read more

Have been here multiple times throughout the years, and I am a fan. For a small, family run Chinese buffet, I think they do a really great job. One of my favorite places for "buffet wonton soup". All of their other options are pretty good, too! At a little over 9 bucks for a dinner buffet...no complaints here! read more

This place is awesome! The staff is so friendly and the food is always fresh and sooo good. They are constantly busy with door dash and GrubHub, so that has to tell you something about how good the food is. It is our hands down favorite Chinese place! read more

Out of the two Chinese restaurants in White Oak, I'm glad this one is still open. The buffet is hit or miss with the amount of food, but the quality is usually very good. Their takeout is WAY better than the buffet and well worth the trip down. The atmosphere is your typical Chinese buffet place, nice music, good lighting, and a simple layout. The wait staff is very good at keeping the table clean of used plates, and the beverages never run dry. No matter how many orders there are for takeout it's always "15 minutes" read more

My husband and I are Chinese food afficionados and we stopped by there for lunch buffet. I got my usual try-out foods: Lo mein, General Tso's, string beans, egg drop soup, and egg roll. Since these are staples of most every restaurant, I figure that if they can't get these right, they won't be appealing to most patrons. The Lo-mein had good flavor. The noodles were al dente, and the veg had a decent crunch without being raw. The General Tso's was more sweet than heat. Although I like things on the milder side, there wasn't much spice to this dish. The egg drop soup was flavorful and stick-to-your-ribs thick. Definitely something for a cold winter day. Their egg rolls were crispy, but not over done. I did find these little tiny sweet corn fritters that were just a bite but had a lot of yummy trapped in that bite. My husband sampled some of the other dishes. There were these filled dumplings called Seafood Delight that he just couldn't get enough of. He also got the chicken teriyaki on a stick that was just perfect. His hot and sour soup had very nice flavor. He had me try their Walnut Chicken. It was so sweet, it could almost be dessert. Their dessert bar was simple and light. There was plenty of fruit and small portion cakes and cookies. Just the right amount after a very nice lunch. I know next time we will try the dinner buffet and bring the kids! read more

I am a HUGE fan of Chinese buffets, but I have to say this one was a huge letdown. To start, when I walked in and during the time I spent eating, I was the only table there. Also the buffet itself was quite small with limited selections. The food that was out seemed to be reheated from the previous day and dried out. I'm a vegetarian and Chinese buffets normally have lots of options I. An choose from but I had trouble finding things to eat other than rice and lo mein. They had no plain veggies or cheese wontons. The desserts were also just as disappointing. The buffet had a few different types of cakes and such piled on top of each other in one container. The restaurant itsself seemed to be clean and the waitress did refill my drink often. My bill for one lunch buffet with an iced tea was 15.29 which I felt was a bit high. Especially since I was leaving hungry. I don't think I will be returning. read more

My husband and I used to eat at this Chinese restaurant many years ago when we were college students. Wow, our taste buds sure have improved since then! The buffet food this time was a very low quality. Most of the food looked as if it had been cooked days earlier. At one point, a waitress poured a bucket of water on top of fish that was drying out. The waitress was nice to us and did bring us drink refills. This restaurant has sentimental value to us, but I cannot come here again in the future for food. read more

So I ordered a beef dish, and not sure what kind of meat it was, but it was chewy and gross. Good thing the veggies were good

This is the first time that I stopped into this restaurant. I lived here for years and never thought that it would be good. I was amazed how good this place is. It is very clean and the staff is friendly. I got my order to go from the menu. I saw two young men come in and get a styrofoam container and fill it up with food. So you can get the buffet for take out. I think that this is a fantastic deal. My hot and sour soup was very good and so was my shrimp fried rice. I would recommend this place to anyone. The food in the buffet looked fresh, even at 7:45pm. read more

I had their dinner buffet and was disappointed in the selection and variety of the food, was concerned because the temperature on the buffet table wasn't keeping some of the food hot enough, and the overall quality of their food was sub-par. The only good thing I can say is their walnut shrimp has a marvelous taste to it, but one item on 3 buffet tables is not what I call worthwhile. It's worth traveling to another Chinese place in McKeesport or Monroeville than eat here. I won't be going back. read more

My fiancé and I ordered take out from here and for one they didn't tell us the price over the phone. But we were looking at their menu online and we were expecting to pay 27 dollars. We went to pick it up and the bill totaled 37 dollars!! For 2 people to eat at a Chinese restaurant this is crazy. Not only were the prices online misleading but when we went to pick up the food the woman was extremely rude. We will not be returning. read more

This might be one Chinese in Pittsburgh, my fav is general tso chicken with shrimp fried rice with a steak and shrimp egg roll.

I would skip the buffet because its always kind of a gamble. Now that being said i would highly recommend for take out or ordering off the menu. Its a typical Chinese place, but the interior looks good and its always very clean. Its a pretty big place inside and its never very crowded. Takeout is great and is always really fast. This was the first place i ever ate Chinese food, so I guess i am a bit biased but the owners seem like good people and im glad this place is still open. read more
