Sweet Potato Roll & Philly Roll

Down here in Washington theres not really any good sushi places, we didn't wanna travel all the way up to Robinson AND we wanted to do take out. Sesame Inn was a perfect option for us. Called it in and stated it would be ready in 20 mins. Which was perfect because that'd be the amount of time it'd take me to get there. Got food home and everything was as ordered. Loved both of my rolls: Philly and Sweet Potato roll. It all tasted so fresh and definitely filled me up!

I had been to the Mt Lebanon location, but not this one and was always happy with my food. We went for lunch, and were easily seated and given our drinks. They have a nice lunch menu and the combo plate comes with soup, or egg roll, rice and your meal. I settled on wonton soup and amazing chicken with fried rice. My mother, who has to eat a gluten free diet, was struggling to find something she could eat, but our server was very patient and helpful. My soup arrived and looked great and tasted even better. The amazing chicken was fried chicken in a spicy sauce and was very good. The fried rice was nothing special. What I was amazed with was the size of the lunch portion. 2 of us could easily have split the meal. What was really annoying was that they were doing some work up near the register and were pounding and pounding, so it was hard to hear each other.

Atmosphere - Very nice. It has been ages since I last dined at this location. The restaurant is fairly small, but has a nice atmosphere. There is a combination of booths and tables. Service - Very Good. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Food - Very Good. The menu huge and the variety amazing. We were there for lunch and ordered off the luncheon menu. I ordered the Lemon Chicken. It came with the option of a few sides. I chose the Hot & Sour Soup. I also chose fried rice. The portion size is huge and two could easily share it for lunch. The chicken was pounded nearly paper thin as was the deep fried breading. The chicken is cut into long strips. Because it was so thin, the ends of the strips were a little too crunchy. The lemon sauce was very good. The fried rice was just OK. Not a lot of flavor. The Hot & Sour Soup was delicious. Overall Value - Very Good. The Sesame Inn is a small chain in the Pittsburgh area and they are always a good option for Chinese food.

This review is for the restaurant itself (for now). It is very decently located, the ambiance is nice and I can sit and comfortably have a drink while I wait for my food. The employees are also nice and courteous and quick. *will update after I taste the food.

Used to be solid Chinese food, ordered take out all the time but after they switched ownership the food became mediocre at best.

A lot of food for the price. The meals were piping hot. Ordered off the lunch menu to go. Was so good.

Owner wouldn't confirm the shrimp were wild caught- insisted they weren't farmed. Tasted like antibiotics.

Only ate here one time. Very good food and portion sizes are impressive. This might just be our new go to for Chinese in the area.

Actually pleasantly surprised and pleased with the quality of food at HK dimsum. As a city that…read moredoesn't offer a lot of dim sum options, HK dimsum definitely brings a strong option to the city. Sadly they don't do cart service, but that is understandable given how slow it during Sunday lunchtime. Even though it wasn't cart service, the turn around time from ordering and getting the food was actually pretty quick. Everything came out piping hot and the seasoning and flavors were right on point. Our cheung fun (rice noodle roll) dishes did seem a bit overcooked, so I'm hoping it was just a fluke for the day. I'm willing to come back and try it again since everything else was fantastic. The cha sui (steamed pork buns) was probably the best I've had in the city (albeit limited options here). The prices were a bit on the higher side for dimsum, but I was pleased at the quality. They also had a traditional and authentic Chinese menu that I'll have to try another time. The inside was very clean and modern. It kind of reminded of us being in a hotel lobby. We had the kindest server who adored our toddler and was very accommodating which was a big plus!!

There's a good amount of tables and booths along with a couple of private rooms with large round tables. We ordered a fair bit and I thought it was all very reasonably priced. Everything we had was excellent. I especially enjoy the scallion pancakes and spare ribs. The only thing I didn't love is that the soup dumplings come in these little foil tins and they stick to them so it's hard to get your dumpling out without popping it and losing all the soup broth. Otherwise, I had a fantastic experience and will be back!!

Congrats on being my 100th review on Yelp!…read more This place is a really popular place for DoorDash orders as I do part-time work while being a college student. I will just say that since I have stopped here numerous times prior due to being a Dasher, I had to try it as well. Currently, I am trying chicken again after not eating it for 10-11 years due to a diet change for some reasons that I won't go into. I was only craving comfort foods and wanted Chinese. I ordered the Orange Chicken which comes with white rice and it comes with actual orange peels in the sauce which is how you know it's a true orange chicken dish. I was also surprised that there are 0 reviews about their orange chicken so here you go! The only thing I will warn you about, well maybe 2 things. 1. They are a family owned restaurant and the food is made to order so it does take some time especially when they are backed up on orders. Be patient! 2. Parking. They share a lot with a pizza shop and I usually park far so I can just pull up and not have to worry about parking at an angle and backing up, the annoyance. I wish parking was better but at least there is parking unlike other places. Did I mention that they are family owned!? That should be the bonus to this place as you know that they work hard to get orders out and that's why you must be patient! It is worth the wait! Also, there is 1 table inside but I never really see anyone eat there besides this older gentleman that was there that ordered soup and something else (it looks so familiar but I can't think of the name). The price is beyond reasonable so don't hesitate when ordering. It's best to order on their actual website for a pickup order instead of ordering it via Yelp. I noticed a $3 difference.
