Four rolls in a heart.
Marissa R.

I went here for dinner the other day with a friend, and we received amazing service. The sushi was well-presented, fresh, and delicious. There's a wide variety, from sushi and hand rolls, to a full traditional Chinese food menu with lo mein, crab rangoon, etc. The only disappointment of my evening was that my plastic wrapped fortune cookie was empty (no fault of the restaurant!). There's a full bar and beautiful ambiance. I would love to visit again!

Very large portions, small price. I wish the food had a bit more sauce/flavor. Looking forward to trying the sushi.

Last Saturday 11/2 we ordered from here. Midway through her sushi my wife found this black hair embedded in her meal ( she's a blonde!) I emailed the shop several times but received no response . Needless to say we were all grossed out by this. Check your food for foreign substances if you eat here!

Ordered take out. I was pretty disappointed. Definitely Not the best. I and used to how lee in Washington and nothing there compared. I probably won't go back. Also they didn't give me enough sauces!

We were in the area and wanted sushi, so we looked on Yelp and found Benichopsticks. We only ordered sushi: a couple special rolls and eel over rice. I'm not usually an eel person, but their eel is very good. One of the best I've ever had. Really liked the rolls as well. They gave us two complimentary ice cream mochi to end the meal (vanilla- and coffee-flavored). How nice! Service was great. Our server was very sweet and always had a smile on his face. We ordered two rolls to go and specified we didn't want any sauce on one of them. He came to show us what the rolls looked like and asked if they were okay before closing the box and putting it in a bag. When boyfriend was on the way to the bathroom, they had a brief chat about Clash of Clans (haha). Only complaint though is that the food--at least the sushi--was pricey. Our rolls were $12-13 for just 8 pieces of sushi each that are kind of on the smaller side. The eel over rice was around $15 for a pretty small portion I thought. Never disappoints. We like all their sushi and bentobox dinners. I've been a long time customer and plan to order in the future.

I think that most of the foods are Japanese, and I see some foods that are Chinese or Thai. This particular restaurant in Washington has a dining area, hibachi tables, and a sushi bar. During my visit, a seating hostess kindly greeted my husband and me and promptly seated us at our choice of booth. Soon, our courteous waiter arrived, gave us menus, and then took our orders. The chefs made our foods in a short amount of time. At the end of the meal, the bill cost us $89 plus a tip. Here are my husband's and my reviews for our foods: Alaska roll - 5 stars - This sushi was freshly made from salmon and avocado, and it tasted very good. Pepper-tuna sushi - 5 stars - This sushi contained fresh tuna, ground pepper, and ponzu sauce. My husband ate it and enjoyed it. Hibachi filet mignon - 5 stars - The filet mignon was cooked medium as I had requested. It was accompanied with a flavorful salad, soup, and vegetables and perfectly steamed rice. Hibachi filet mignon and shrimp - 4 stars - My husband ate this entree. He said that it tasted good, but he thought that the plate contained too much oil and liquid. On the side were salad, soup, vegetables, and noodles that he liked.

Reservations are highly recommended - it's on the smaller side. The menu has so many options and an amazing variety. One thing to note is this Japanese food is not like most others. Its focus is on homestyle, also fried/stir fried Japanese dishes. So do not expect Ramen or noodle soups. A couple things that are always ordered is the Kaarage, Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki (best in the city), yakisoba or udon, and gyoza. The staff is so sweet and the decorations remind me of Izakaya places in larger cities. They have a bar with cool cocktails and adorable bento boxes they sell during lunch hours throughout the week. Cannot recommend this place enough!!

The takoyaki has a crunchy outside and a good flavor (4/5), and the okonomiyaki is pretty filling (4/5); these were the best two. The yaki-udon with shrimp was ok (3/5) but definitely expensive for what it was and the quantity; they also don't add much shrimp, despite the up charge. The sake no shioyaki was below average for salmon (2/5) and very expensive for that amount they give you. Similarly, the onigiri is almost entirely rice if you add salmon (2/5). You order on a tablet, and they bring the food out. Service was ok (3/5); we had empty waters for a while. The restaurant is well-decorated, and you can see the chefs work, which gives it an ambiance somewhat like a hibachi place (4/5). Overall, I think most of the items are pretty expensive for what they are; they don't have the quality or quantity to justify the price.

It was my first time visiting Ichiban at this Pittsburgh location…read more I found it because I wanted Hibachi and this was one of the closest places to where I was at, at the time. We decided to have a pre-cocktail at the bar before being seated. There seemed to be a lot of regular neighborhood frequent flyers at the Sushi bar and regular tables already. The Hibachi tables were starting to fill up quickly. There were also people waiting in chairs to be seated before we even knew it or finished our drinks. Probably around 7 PM-ish? As we were finishing up our drinks, the Front of House Host kindly greeted us at the bar and recognize that we were wanting to eat. We didn't even even say anything in the first place just went to the bar, so I thought that was a nice observation and that means a lot to me when I am trying to dine somewhere. He kindly seated us in the front waiting area and told us to wait for a Hibachi Table. As we waited I was asking others around us if they had ever been there before? Everyone *(more than four people), said they were always very pleased with the service, the food was tasty and the portions were very plentiful! When we sat down, we had the best table and someone was celebrating their birthday so that was fun! The language barrier between the chefs and the servers were very streamlined for the tables needs. Everything was "right on point". Our Server & Chef were both efficient and amazing together. The Habachi show was fun and interactive too. Sworn by others the portions were so generous for the price. We had leftovers for 4 days!!! The restaurant was clean, and the ambience was energetic. All of the food and ingredients were also very fresh and just a good experience all around. I hope it is this way for everyone. I recommend it if you are ever at this location on Park Manor Boulevard in Pittsburgh, PA. 楽しむ (Enjoy)

Once your table fills with enough people, the show begins. The place was a little dead and staff was moping around looking at their phones. The rice is cooked and plated... do you eat it? Flipping some raw veggies into people's mouths and the onion of fire are always a hit. The food was tasty and good as well as a good portion. Always enough to take some home. But by the time the main course was finished, the rice and noodles were cold. I wish there was a way to do everything together, on a giant hot griddle or something. Service was adequate but not great. Food was good but not great. Would return if someone has never been there and was looking for a show.
