Rainbow, First Date, and Dragon rolls w/ Salmon and Tuna sashimi.

This place was totally jammed on a Thursday night. We had a party of 12 and the service was terrific. We had to wait a bit longer for our sushi orders but everything came out perfectly. It's very loud, especially if you're seated near the back kitchen area. They restock plates right next to your table on the other side of the wall. We ordered three rolls and some tuna and salmon sashimi. Everything was really fabulous.

When my friends and I got there, it was completely packed! Luckily, a bunch of people got up and left so the restaurant was quieter and more pleasant Aunt afterwards. I got the veggie Ramen, with the miso soup starter. The miso soup was so strong and delicious! It's the best me so I've had in a long time. My friend Amy got the grilled chicken with teriyaki sauce. She and Brian split an order of fried rice. Brian got a couple of appetizers. Our server was really helpful and nice. I enjoyed our time there.

We come here every year for the sushi, and in our opinion it's some of the freshest in the city. The only drawback is that the don't take reservations and don't have a waiting area, so most people wait outside. Something to consider when the weather is bad.

2nd best sushi in the city for price, taste and size of each roll. I've went to this one and the south side one multiple times. Same ownership and same quality People working are always nice. I never sat down at either one and only had takeout. Albeit it I can confirm the inside is always clean and has people eating there

    | Mt. Lebo - Pittsburgh, PA | Little Tokyo we're a family that loves little Tokyo! They have something for everyone. Hibachi for me, sushi for the rest of the family. That's why we chose to go here for my mamas birthday. Sweet potato sushi is ALWAYS a top choice esp for those who don't like seafood /sushi but wanna fit in I wish more places offered it, so I swipe it up every single time I see it on the menu!! This was the first time I had fried ice cream and it's also wonderful. So i'm a happy clam and this is a #GOUDapproved restaurant from me!! Hibachi Filet Mignon + miso soup $29.95 sweet potato sushi $6 for 6pc i'm not gonna lie I have no idea what rolls are what and I forgot to write them down. fried ice cream $7.95

After hearing rave reviews I finally had a chance to try the sushi at Little Tokyo. We got lucky and snagged the last two seats at the sushi bar. The fish in the case looked very fresh and tasty, and it was fun getting a firsthand view of the chefs whipping up beautiful sushi rolls. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. They have several specialty rolls to choose from which was honestly a hard choice, they all sounded amazing. I ended up going with the first date roll, which had shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. I also ordered an avocado roll which was simple but delicious. This was definitely some of the best sushi I've had in Pittsburgh. My boyfriend ordered a hibachi meal with steak and chicken. He said it was excellent. Our server was very sweet and service was fast. I'm looking forward to dining here again.

Little Tokyo was an unexpected find. We were passing by and randomly decided to drop in for dinner because it looked interesting. The restaurant gives me the vibe of casual sushi place from the last century (in a good way). Service was super friendly and fast. The food was great value for the price. So much cheaper than the same level of sushi in Pittsburgh. I felt that this was what gave me the biggest impression. Out of the salmon, spicy tuna, and eel roll, i thought the eel was the best. The shrimp tempura smelled so good because we were sitting at the bar and could see them making it, so decided to add it at the end of the meal. Did not disappoint! My only complaint is the dipping sauce was a bit bland. They also had an affordable sake menu.

Had not visited in about 9 years and now so glad I am back!!! The sushi is AMAZING! Willing to wait when it's busy. No reservations. They also have hibachi and ramen options. Each time I have seen couples and families, there is something for everyone. Tip- they do put lemon on salmon. So if you don't want that tell them ahead of time!

The absolute BEST sushi in Pittsburgh and ever in my life! This place is a Mt. Lebanon staple and it is every residents favorite place to stop at when they come back to visit family and friends. The owner is always working and very friendly. The staff has been the same for years and have always been wonderful. The hibachi is incredible and the sushi is so fresh. The fried ice cream is also insanely delicious if you're not full by the end!

First Date Roll. Yummy! Tempura was still warm and the Tuna was perfectly spicy.

Decent food. Weirdly huge sections of the menu are permanently not available. The service and ambiance are just middling.

I've been generally impressed by the quality of the sushi. We ordered takeout this time, and everything was extremely well packaged and presented. In terms of the food, we focussed on fairly standard maki rolls: a spicy salmon roll and a spicy California roll. Both were very nicely done. We also tried the veg farm roll, and that was a nice vegetable forward option. Not life changing, but nicely done. We also opted for a vegetable poke bowl, and that was also good. Basically the same combination of vegetables as the veg farm roll, but in a bowl format. The bowl was good, but it was lacking some sort of sauce or glaze that might have pulled things together. It was easy enough to toss on some condiments of our own, but the bowl could have been better. Overall, I this is my favorite sushi destination in Squirrel Hill. It's very clear that the owners are invested in turning out a high quality experience, and that's exactly the type of business I like to support.

My usual order is the chicken katsu bento box, which comes with a good portion of crunchy sliced chicken katsu, rice, two dumplings, a California roll, and miso soup. It feels like a solid, filling meal with enough variety to make it satisfying. The only downside with my most recent takeout order was the sauce placed in the middle of the container. I'm not sure exactly what it was, and after tasting it, it wasn't really for me. Because of the layout of the takeout container, some of it spilled into the rice and rolls. Next time, I'd probably ask for that sauce on the side in a separate container.

She is the best server I have experienced in a long time. I heard her tell another table that her whole family is in the restaurant business, and her comfort and skill with every table made that abundantly clear. Too bad we were not hungry enough to order more, because everything was fantastic. We had the chef's selection of sashimi and of sushi (two different dishes) and a takoyaki appetizer. Everything was fresh and delicious, and the different sauces on the nigiri and sashimi elevated the fish in amazing ways. I asked our waiter if the portion size of chirashi was good and he said it's a good size and that they have carry out boxes if I don't finish. Tell me why this was the smallest chirashi I have ever seen anywhere. The slices of fish were thinner than the sliced ginger. If you stacked all of the slices, it would make a normal size of one piece of nigiri. The slice of tuna was so thin, you could see through it, much less taste it. I was still starving after and got the fried chicken nuggets which were a good portion, with good crunch. The sauce on the chicken was devoid of flavor except for the SALT. They were even able to take the chicken flavor away from the meat which is kind of an accomplishment in itself. My friend got the Sichuan pork dumplings and the dumplings were drowning in soy sauce so much so that you couldn't taste the Sichuan spice (if there was any). There's a sushi restaurant nearby that gives me food poisoning every time I eat there and I would have much rather have eaten there than Soba. I would definitely recommend this place to my enemies because they'll leave broke and still hungry.
