Continues to be very well done. This is a somewhat unassuming space, but they have some room for dining in and an excellent takeout game. I've been generally impressed by the quality of the sushi. We ordered takeout this time, and everything was extremely well packaged and presented. In terms of the food, we focussed on fairly standard maki rolls: a spicy salmon roll and a spicy California roll. Both were very nicely done. We also tried the veg farm roll, and that was a nice vegetable forward option. Not life changing, but nicely done. We also opted for a vegetable poke bowl, and that was also good. Basically the same combination of vegetables as the veg farm roll, but in a bowl format. The bowl was good, but it was lacking some sort of sauce or glaze that might have pulled things together. It was easy enough to toss on some condiments of our own, but the bowl could have been better. Overall, I this is my favorite sushi destination in Squirrel Hill. It's very clear that the owners are invested in turning out a high quality experience, and that's exactly the type of business I like to support. read more

The best sushi in Pittsburgh. Everything on their menu is done well. Apart from the sushi, my favorite item is the sweet potato tempura. They care a lot about preparing their food well and treating their customers right. My wife and I have tried many places around town and this is by far our favorite. She likes to get the hand rolls which are hard to find at other places in the area. We usually get to go, but they have a small dining area if you want to eat there. Only about 6 tables, but the service was fast so we were in and out. They had a lot of fun specialty rolls. My favorite was the pink lady roll - mango, salmon, cream cheese, avocado and soy wrap. This is a little sushi spot in Squirrel Hill. We came during an awkward hour between lunch and dinner so it was empty when we arrived. Our server was nice and did come to check in on us. The inside is a bit small and they mostly do takeout here. The sushi here is all right. We weren't super hungry so we tried some sushi rolls. The tuna had a bit of a fishy taste to it and the shrimp tempura roll had no flavor. The price is pretty on par for sushi in pittsburgh but the pieces in each roll were really small, like quarter-sized. It hit the sushi craving but I definitely left wanting more. I had never had tempura oysters before, and I have found a new favorite appetizer. Not to be missed. We had the pink lady roll, and 12 piece sashimi platter. It was plated beautifully, the sashimi tasted very fresh with a buttery texture. My son said he really enjoyed the sashimi here, and ranked it as the best we have tried since relocating to the Pittsburgh area over a year ago. The miso soup was piping hot (see video), and was a larger portion than I was expecting. The food was prepared quickly. All in all a pleasant experience. Prices were very reasonable. We ate for about $50 including tipping. We will be back. The location is right next to a bus stop, so very convenient for weekend exploration. It was so fresh and delicious. You walk right in to the sushi counter and I first thought it might be take-out only but they have a small area with 7-8 tables, we were able to sit right away and our waitress immediately brought us waters which I always appreciate. The menu is fairly small but decent prices for sushi. The sushi is served on these adorable little wooden trays with flowers which I thought was so fun. The food did take a really long time for us but we were there on a Friday night. We also ordered edamame as an appetizer because we were really hungry but it came out the same time as our sushi.
