Skai is newer sushi spot on Butler St under the Arsenal Lanes. I placed an order online for take out and that was an easy process. The instructions were clear with an estimated pick up time. When picking up, I noticed an ordering kiosk and some tables to dine in. It definitely feels like a fast casual vibe which is an awesome addition to Laweranceville! The sushi was tasty and priced well. The veggies in the shrimp tempura roll were super fresh. I wish there was an option online to add veggies to the spicy tuna rolls. I enjoyed those rolls too, but maybe could have used more spiciness or sauce. Overall, Skai was great in terms of convenience and presentation. I look forward to trying more sushi from here!

Skai Sushi just opened in Lawrenceville and I was super excited to try it out. It's a small, fast-casual spot with about five tables and a few window bar seats. We were greeted right away, and the ordering system is fully self-serve through a POS tablet, which made things quick and easy. Our food came out promptly, and even though they'd only been open for two days, the staff was attentive, kind, and clearly working hard to smooth out the opening-week kinks. When we went they didn't have paper menus yet, but they said they will be coming out soon. The rolls were pretty standard in flavor but beautifully decorated, and everything looked great. I especially loved my eel poke bowl. It was fresh, flavorful, and well portioned. I'd be excited to see even more fish and sashimi options added to the menu as they grow, but overall, Skai Sushi is a promising new addition to the neighborhood. I'll definitely be back for take out!

This is such a good find in Pittsburgh! Great sushi! I got the Philly roll and Pittsburgh roll and they were so good. My boyfriend loves Eel so he got the eel bowl and he loved it. It was a good size too! The person who owns it is really nice too. We will definitely be coming back!

Quick and fresh! Ordered takeout for a simple roll and tasted great. The chef working was very nice.

Not the best sushi I've ever had but for a newer business it was really convenient and well put together.

Kura is a fun, casual lunch or dinner option if you like sushi, tempura, or ramen. The restaurant…read moreuses a conveyor-belt system: plates and small side dishes continuously pass your booth on the main belt, and you simply take whatever looks good. A touch screen at your table lets you order items that aren't on the main belt; those orders arrive on a separate, fast conveyor belt above the main one. When you finish, drop your plates into a slot at the booth--plates are counted and you're billed by plate. Drinks are ordered on the touch screen as well and are brought to your booth by a friendly robot. The format is efficient and entertaining, and it's easy to sample a variety of small dishes. Ramen, tempura and other dishes are available alongside the sushi, and service is generally quick because of the automated system. That said, the sushi itself is just okay, not outstanding. You can find better, and cheaper sushi elsewhere in Pittsburgh, but those places won't offer the same conveyor-belt experience. There are two downsides to keep in mind: the continuous stream of plates makes it easy to rack up a large bill if you're not careful, and the sushi quality is only average, but if you want a fun, interactive meal with lots of variety, Kura is worth a visit. If you're after top-tier sushi or trying to stick to a strict budget, choose a different spot.

Always enjoy our visits to Kura…read more This is one of our daughter's favorite restaurant. So we try to visit a Kura place for one of our family meals. We enjoyed the idea that every person can order their own dish and it's personal-sized. There's no concern about ordering something that no one else likes and leaving a lot of leftovers. The quality of the food is good. Their kitchen items are always appreciated. We especially like the ramen, scallop. The noodles are better than fast food.
