Came in on a Monday with my family, it was about 4:30 before dinner rush with us only there, then it started to get busy. You can tell inside is a place on the outskirts of the burgh! Jerseys on the wall and all! I ordered two appetizers to start. The egg roll was phenomenal, so much flavor. I used to work nearby and would always see so many people ordering sushi for lunch. I finally get to see what the hype is all about. The crab rangoon is something I always go for anytime I want sushi. I had the Philadelphia roll. Very good. I want to say it was the manager who came to our table a lot, very attentive. Our waitress did take a while to get drinks, did not see too much of her. I used to frequent Kiyoshi several years ago. It was great. I ordered delivery today and it was terrible! Arrived on time and quick. The salmon avocado roll was super tiny. I ordered it with the soy wrap instead and it came with rice anyway. It's very tiny for the cost. I'm disappointed. The bubble tea - is way overcooked tapioca. DO NOT recommend. Tasted off. The matcha portion was good. The strawberry one is way too sweet. Just no. Unfortunately, I will not be ordering from here again and I cannot recommend it. I got one of the lunch specials, broccoli beef with fried rice and wonton soup. They also gave wonton chips with sweet and sour sauce to dip. The chips were super crunchy. The sauce of the beef and broccoli was different than I'm used to, it was kinda reddish in color and had an off taste, at least to me. The portions were huge for a lunch special, tons of meat and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. Lasted me a couple meals. read more

I really enjoyed this place; it's a little hard to get in and out of on the curve on University, but I think it's worth it! I ordered the sizzling pineapple chicken and it came to the table with a bit of table side prep still needed, which I loved! It was almost like a sizzling fajita! The sauce was tangy and vibrant, lots of great flavor and aroma. The chicken had a crispy exterior until it was doused with the sauce so it gave it a really nice texture. The place is not kept clean which is a clue to their overall standards. Both wife and I had stomach distress after eating. The sushi was ok overall but the salmon had an almost musty taste to it - probably from how it's farmed. We bought a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc and didn't realize it was from 2018. That's too old for a white and the wine was bad - starting to oxidize. Overall my impression is they just aren't focused on quality and cleanliness. read more

Very very disappointed, we frequent here often and order take out all the time. Ignored for 15 mins, treated horrible, while other tables got service from the moment they sat down. Food was cold and chicken was over cooked. Could not get anyone to help as the seever who took our order was working the takeouts. The one server said " not my table" and walked away. I place my order online for delivery once a week and have it dropped on my porch. I pay cash and leave it on the door. I had 3 different debit cards compromised after ordering on the Kiyoshi Bistro website. I order the same thing each time but recently started getting sauce on side to lower my salt intake. They started charging me $1 for sauce on side I guess because it is in a plastic container. I am okay with that, but it is a hidden fee that does not show up in online ordering or on the menu and is tacked on after the fact. This is unacceptable to me to add fees on after a total is accepted by the customer, and the driver was shorted $1 in the tip. I didn't know until I looked at the receipt. When I called to ask what the $1 was for and why it was added after the fact, I was told "we always charge $1 for sauce on side", "I don't know why website didn't charge it". They just keep giving the same answer over & over and don't think about attempting to resolve the problem by updating the website. They need to fix website or eat the cost. Not sure I will continue to order from them. They don't care about customer service. The food is okay except there is no consistency in the egg rolls. One time they are great and the next they are all grease and a disappointment. One time I ordered fried ice cream and part of the plastic wrapper was stuck in it. Never ordered again. read more

We were visiting Pittsburgh and staying near the airport. The hotel recommended Kiyoshi and it was SO GOOD! I had the King Pao Chicken and my husband had General Tso's chicken. We had so much left over and no way to edge it later (room had a fridge but no microwave). This was done of the best Chinese food I've had anywhere. Wish we'd had time to go back again! read more

As far as the sushi, not good at all. I got the sashimi lunch, $13.75, and extra octopus nigiri. Sashimi came with tuna (HORRIBLE! Was full of gristle, if that is possible) salmon (that was good) a white fish, that these places always try to pass as white tuna, but in reality they would never be able to sell white tuna at that price, tasted soft, close to turned. And the Octopus nigiri. I usually count on octopus being good anywhere I go. Not here. Had this, and two drinks, was $45 with the tip. Never going back. Food doesn't have to be authentic to taste good. Kiyoshi serves Americanized pan-Asian food, and while that may make some wary, they do a pretty good job. In general, the dishes were cooked and seasoned well. Meat was juicy and tender, vegetables were fresh. The southeast Asian claypot-like drunken chicken with basil was one of the favorites of the table. Another crowd pleaser was the eggplant stuffed with seafood (seafood dumplings). The walnut shrimp and twice cooked pork deviated from more familar executions, but were not too bad. The only really disappointing dish was their generic fried rice that came with the dishes, which was clearly not freshly wok-fried and lacked in flavor, texture, and everything really. We ordered an additional egg fried rice and that was infinitely better and done right. Fluffy, hot, full of wok 'hei'. Definitely stick to the white rice for the included rice option and order fried rice separately. Service was friendly and attentive. Food came out at a good pace. Their free fried wonton wrappers with sweet and sour sauce were surprisingly delicious Chinese American goodness. I was really surprised at how cheap the bill was given how much we ordered. Definitely great value. Recommended for an affordable, but fun and comfortable group dinner. read more
