Great ramen and friendly service. Ordered the spicy diced chicken ramen with a fried egg and it was really good! The broth had a little bit of a ginger flavor which I enjoyed. Wish it was a little spicier but I enjoyed the flavor. Also ordered the spicy tuna roll, which while I probably wouldn't order again, was good. This is Chinese ramen/lamian and it's very good. Ramen originated in China and was introduced to Japan, where it evolved into its distinct Japanese flavor, which I love also (but it is different). They offer hand-pulled noodles as well as knife cut noodles here. I brought my uncle & aunt (from China) and they both enoyed the broth & flavor (my uncle is a retired chef and has hand pulled noodles since his youth so it was high compliment for him to mumble "not bad" in between slurps). Stopped in with a friend who loves Pho due to his insistence that this was some of the best. The Lanzhou noodle soup had one of the best broths with some tasty flavors and spices. My friend and I had an enjoyable dinner here last week. The service was wonderful from our attentive waitress to who I assumed was an owner or manager making her way around, checking on tables, and helping package leftovers. They have a large selection of menu items to accommodate all palates and provide a container of chili oil to adjust the spice level to your liking. We were given both forks & knives and chopsticks. The restaurant is BYOB and they gladly provided us with glasses for our wine. I had the beef ramen with hand pulled noodles. The quality of the beef and noodles was exceptional. The noodles were fresh and had the best al dente chew to them. We could see a man behind the counter actually pulling the noodles as we dined. I thought the broth was a little lacking in flavor, but the chili oil helped. At first, I thought the prices were a little high, but after seeing the portion sizes, I understood. I had at least two meals worth of food and they even filled my leftover container with more broth! The restaurant isn't huge, but there are at least 10-15 tables that either seat two or four. I'm sure you could combine tables for larger parties. The bathrooms are single person and the ladies bathroom was clean when we visited. read more

Fresh, homemade noodles in the south hills! My son had a birthday party in Canonsburg so my husband and I decided to check out Ramen King and we are so glad that we did! We got steamed pork buns, veggie soup, and shrimp soup. The pork in the buns was very flavorful. The broth in the soup was PERFECT! The broth is beef and chicken and made in a slow cooker. It made the soup! I truly just want to drink the broth. The veggie soup had veggies, eggs, and tofu. It was excellent. The shrimp soup just had shrimp and noodles. For dinner tonight I got the pork soup dumplings and the house Ramen, everything was delicious! The house had chicken, beef, shrimp, crab, scallops, squid, and egg. Dumplings were amazing! I wanted to ask for chili oil for them but forgot. The packaging of the ramen to go was very nice- one bowl had noodles and veggies and other bowl had broth and meats. The ramen was great! The hand pulled noodles were so fresh and delicious. I loved the bok choy and cilantro in the ramen, yum! The meat was good, I loved the squid and was not expecting it! There was a meat that was super chewy and tough, it tasted like pork but it could've been a different piece of beef than some of the others that was not good at all. Other than that, it was great. My husband and I ordered takeout from here after reading some pretty positive reviews and we're sadly disappointed. $70 later and we're less than satisfied. Our order was put together quickly - 20 minutes on a Saturday. The first question out of his mouth when he picked it up was, "is this everything?" The Sashimi was excellent - very generous, thick slices. Philly roll was good, standard Philly roll. Pork Fried Pot Sticker Dumplings were the biggest disappointment. The photos show large, round dumplings and what we got was small, crescent dumplings. To top that off, the meat inside tasted like an Italian sausage. Not what I was looking for. I would MAYBE try sushi here again but skip in the hot foods. read more

This was the original in McMurray and the first time for us. We got take out. I got chicken soup expecting it to have the items that were listed, green onion, pickled cabbage and bok choy, but it had none of the green onion or pickled cabbage and two leaves of bok choy. They gave me a hard boiled egg that I expected to be jammy, but instead it was well beyond hard boiled and unappetizing. Unfortunately although we ordered knife sliced noodles they gave us hand pulled which really look like spaghetti, very perfect?? My husband didn't see this on the receipt until he returned home and it was too late to have them change it. The hand pulled noodles were in a take out container and were ice cold, I am not sure it this is how they fix them for take out, but had I put them in my hot soup it would have made it cold. All in all I was very disappointed. The soup is good but truly not the very flavorful broth I was expecting. The crab rangoon was shaped like a flat turnover instead of the usual shape and had very little filling. My husband had the chicken and shrimp with the knife cut noodles. It was good, but not a lot of flavor either. We will certainly give it another try. Perhaps because it was such a cold night the amount of take out(which was quite a bit) caused a lack of attention for each order, but over all we were sadly underwhelmed after such effusive reviews from others. read more
